@dragonette505 yep I go back Saturday. And no ganerelix for me I don't think. It was on my initial protocol before they changed it to microdose Lupron. I thought the Lupron was what is preventing me from Oing now?
This may be a random question, but I have a friend that recently got done with her successful IVF cycles and I was able to use some of her leftover meds (yay for saving money!). I have two unopened vials of ganirelix 250. I won't be using them in my protocol--does anyone need them? I would be happy to mail them if that's possible!

Only a couple of friends from church and a couple from work know this. This forum is a big help for me for I can at least voice out even the tiny ache and tear that happen as soon as they happen.
i want to give a special shout out to your gifs

Are you doing FET or fresh transfer? I won't get to transfer till October.... maybe we will still get to move onto our BMBs together soon too! ❤
*typos + I had to bold that part autocorrect fixed for me!!! :D
@tinjp78 how did it go? I imagine you are in recovery now? Thinking of you!
@hopeful_mom saying a prayer for you, I know it's so difficult and moving on with what you have is going to be a huge leap of faith. But I believe it will happen for you.

i hate autocorrect.... turned your beyond to Beyoncé somehow....... but on epic retrieval day.... it stays because it fits!!
Thinking of you all that have triggered and just had ER!! Excited to hear updates!!
AFM: scan this AM showed 5 follies on R side about 14 mm and 5 right under 10mm. The L had 3 follicles larger than 10 mm and about 5 right under. Day 6 of stims so I'm getting kind of worried that those under 10 mm won't catch up in time? Is this a normal time frame? I didn't get to see my RE today. I go back on monday for another US but the nurse said still on track for ER middle of next week. No change to my doses. 150 menopur 150 gonalF and 5 Lupron.

@tnh0413 If you trigger Monday or Tuesday your 14's and 10's should all be in the 18 - 20 something range which should be totally fine. You still get some growth on trigger day as well as the next day so most of them should make it!
@dragonette505 oh that's good to know!! Thank you!! I still feel like I'm a lost puppy during this whole thing lol.
On a a side note! Pumpkin spice latte is back at Starbucks today!! I just got myself one. We deserve it!!

@BusinessWife and @tinjp78 I hope your ER goes--or went!--well! FX for some great numbers and fertilization!
@Hopeful_mom I can't believe you want to go again, haha! Well, I understand because this last cycle didn't end on a high note, but wow you're ambitious! I'm very impressed with how much you've done already. :-) Our follow up with our RE is this afternoon and I've got lots of questions, not the least of which is how can we avoid having to skip a cycle next time if the next attempt fails. After two years, I want to get this show on the road, haha.
@tnh0413 They would stim you a day longer if they thought you needed it, but I think they will capture more getting that group of 10's to 14's. Enjoy your latte! I've been off caff coffee (I do organic decaf) for more than a year! @Bababatty Hopefully you can get some good info today! Update us on what they say!!
Everyone, can we talk diet? After talking with my RE, im coming to terms with the fact that Ive got eggs but it's their health that is poor. He suggested increasing my antioxidants as one guideline. So I need to feel like I can proactively do something to counter my age and egg health. Admittedly, my diet hasn't been the greatest. But, to look at that in a positive light means maybe some changes in the diet and exercise departments can make that needed difference for me. I have one, maybe two IVF tries left, then I'm done because insurance is capped out. I know it takes 2-3 months for diet to make a difference but I started yesterday. Any tips for getting in more antioxidants for a full time working and commuting **tw** mom of a preschooler **end tw** who is a bit lazy in the kitchen would be appreciated! I'm also going to see if our library has that "it starts with the egg" book. Time to take a long hard look at what I have the power to change so I can recapture a bit of hope.
Bababatty good luck with your appointment, I'm interested to hear your update!! I'm nervous but I have to get this show on the road and at least try. There are some fab ladies on here a wee bit older going full force soooo if I have to go back then I will cross that bridge later. I've always dreamed of having my own children never thinking it would be this type of issue. Sometimes I wish I had all the money in the world so I could use a surrogate as I'm still trying to get normal embryos. A baby for you, a baby for you, wouldn't that be nice
Momifbysea thinking of you as well! ALOT!! I'm feeling all the emotion with you! You're responding really well, and the fact is your eggs are fertilizing! Yes age is a factor, lord knows I'm well aware BUT you respond better then some in their 30's and your levels are good SO its bothering me. I know you want to do PGS BUT apart of me really wants you to try one 3dt. Mine ended in disaster I kno BUT so many come out with that miracle!! At least I got through writing you without crying today, so that's an improvement!

@Momifbysea I HIGHLY recommend that book. I was already on a PNV and CoQ10 200mg prior to our first stim, but after that failed, and it was discovered my left ovary wasn't responding, I kicked the vitamin regimen into high gear. I started taking the vitamins recommended for IVF with DOR in the book. My Dr. OK'd me to go on DHEA and told me to increase CoQ10 ubiquinol to 600mg daily(!) as well. I bought my vitamins on amazon, they add up
However... I had WAY more follicles the second time I stimmed, after only being on these vitamins about 2 months, and my left ovary actually responded to the stims again!
I think it would be hard to get all those antioxidants from diet alone, but look into the mediterranean diet; this is what I try to follow in general for healthy eating. Our meals generally have 2 side veggies and a lean meat (chicken, fish or vegetarian) and IF I cook starchy food it's whole grain, like whole grain pasta, brown/wild rice, or tricolored quinoa. I use healthy fats liberally (olive oil, nut oils, sunflower oil ect) and bad fats sparingly (we never use margarine, and minimal butter).
My RE recommended trying a gluten free diet, but I haven't seen great research in support of this if you aren't celiac or known gluten intolerant (but I'm trying it just in case it does help... it's kinda a pain)

@BusinessWife THATS AWESOME!!!! Its essentially exactly what you expected from your AFC!!! Now come on fertilization report!!
@Momifbysea I would get: It Starts With Egg and: How to Improve Egg Quality... those books are both I would say the books I most relied on as far as supplements. For me diet is trickier because I have Celiacs and so I must avoid gluten. I know some ladies on Instagram that went gluten free for infertility (actually its a pretty big thing) and swear by it, but theres also the vegan for infertility ladies (many of them pcos) and etc. I'm more or less "Pegan" Paleo-vegan. Basically means plant based but eating high quality meats and animal products. All of that aside, I think the best thing anyone can do is to remove processed food. If that is all you do and just stick to it for 3 months (for the most part) I think it would make a huge difference. Other than that, the only really clinically studied diet to improve fertility is the Mediterranean diet. It even allows some wine!
@Hopeful_mom I don't at all blame you for considering another cycle... I mean, that's basically where I'm at right now... I have those frozens, but I really just wanted to at least try for a few more... I feel like the fact that yours are pgs normal is such a great thing, though.... Its more like now you just need to make sure your body is great and theres no little surprises like... oh, we just noticed a polyp or something and this next transfer should be your take home baby. I know its hard to hope that after so much... I struggle with the same doubt, but I always feel like when I'm stimming or when I did my transfer, that I owe it to my eggs and embies to be HOPEFUL for them. That I have to believe in them for as long as I can. I believe in your embies.... I believe that they will make your dream come true. This last cycle was an asshole and a jerk. But this cycle isn't going to impact your transfer.... you got this.
@BusinessWife this totally called for it!! so excited! 18 means life, awesome! Rest up!!
dragonette505ReesaAnne16where were u ladies when i first started this journey, i'm angry with myself that i didn't look into better egg quality and relied more on my RE. I think because my AFC count was decent on that first visit she just didn't think I would have an issue is my guess. But since I did so many IUIs i couldve been making my eggs stronger in the mean time...8 cycles later I have to believe that my normies got this and i'll never need ivf again!!

Ha! Cross post!! I have been hearing about GF for infertility even before I knew I was infertile simply from being a part of the gluten free community. There were so many people on message boards back then joining in not because they were intolerant to gluten but because of infertility. Theres a famous Indian OB who recommends all of her rich and famous patients go gf during their pregnancy. basically its due to inflammation and immune response to the proteins in wheat (gluten) that all people have to some degree. I think if people are generally healthy and not infertile, why bother, but ive seen so many people have success going off gluten that if I wasn't already GF I know id try it!
@Hopeful_mom loving that gif!!! And yes! I feel like they try to be too conservative with some girls... theres no reason on earth they should have made her feel like she was going to get less than 18! Just going by her scans..like why scare her? I can see with me at my age and with my numbers... yeah.. be conservative. But not with girls who are younger and responding well. hell, my old azz got 17 and 18 my last two cycles which is cray... I'm happily not surprised she pulled out the big numbers of huevos! As for the egg health... its never too late to start! A lot of these changes are good for pregnancy as well and for preparing to be as fit as you can be for implantation. I read those books before my first cycle, but I was cocky and thought I wouldn't need them. After my first two fails, I humbly went back and re-read them and applied it. I do believe your normies are going to get the job done and be your take home babies!! So hopefully you wont need it, but its still good to know to tell other girls anyway... there are things we can do before we give up and change the plan.
angelbeaits interesting cause I would've worried about the same thing BUT I will say that the cycles I stemmed longer on are the ones I got more normies on I've gone a good 14days too so don't worry...near the end is when things start to pick up.
Aw thank you @Hopeful_mom for your positive words! It was just what I needed to hear, as today at my u/s (CD 13 but Day 12 of stims), it appears my 11 follies are growing but more slowly. The largest was 19.5mm (yay!), but most were in the 11-15mm range still with a few at 9-10mm. I go back in for an u/s tomorrow and think I will have my retrieval on Tuesday. I only have enough meds for tomorrow, but the clinic said that they had some reserves. Whew! Would be tough to get these meds shipped on a holiday weekend! Anyway, you've saved me from spending my entire weekend googling "long stimulation" and reading obscure medical journal abstracts. My DH thanks you as well;-)
Does anyone have insight, though, on why during certain cycles follicles grow more slowly than others? I wonder if it has anything to do with what I am eating/drinking? I still have a cup of coffee per day and quit alcohol during stims, but had a glass of wine or 2 during the week prior to stims. Oh no....here I go again with the overthinking!
Interestingly, I never get my blood checked during these visits. They measure my lining (which seems irrelevant since I'm not doing a transfer), so maybe that is how they deduce estrogen levels?
Also, I have to say, you really have given it the best try of anyone I've heard of! And having 5 normies in the freezer is a goldmine so let's get this transfer process going so that we can have you some babies!! I'm sure your miscarriage has made you gunshy, understandably, but objectively, I'd say that your odds of looking really egg-cellent. Sorry -- couldn't resist.

@Hopeful_mom...thanks for the check in ! I've been MIA because we were camping in Montauk ! Went today for my day 10 (after ER) progesterone and estrogen blood work. Progesterone is 18.75 and estrogen is 795. Again she said don't analyze the numbers and also that they are excellent levels ! But I am totally trying to analyze them ! I don't think I can handle it if this didn't work..
@hopefulmom I'm just sitting here, twiddling my thumbs and trying NOT to POAS... it's hard. DH really wants us to wait until beta day on Wednesday and find out together... but it's SO... FAR...... AWAY....
The long weekend is good for my stress level, but I need to find some stuff to stay busy with.
Oh and can I just say PIO shots are a literal PITA! My poor hips are so sore on both sides. We started using a lidocaine cream, which is helping, but I'm not sure how I can keep this up potentially several more weeks!! (I mean, I'll be thrilled if the circumstances call for me to continue them after wednesday, but they still hurt)

@ReesaAnne16...it sounds like we're in similar situations ! My pregnancy blood test is on Tuesday ! Does your practice check progesterone and estrogen at 7, 10 & 14 days also ? If so, what have your levels been ? Do you have any symptoms or feelings ?
ReesaAnne16 sorry you're in pain - u all scare me with this PIO stuff but it means i'm one step closer to getting this baby cooking so bring it on I'm amazed at the will power u gals have!! Can't wait to start seeing some BFP on here!
Malibu45 wait u went in on day 10? or ur 5 days past transfer? when is ur beta? Girl they know if theres some hcg in there if its 10...i'm itching to know for u now!!
angelbea i need to check this article out but i'm such a carb girl for sure!! Sometimes I'm mad I didn't google more but try to let your body do what it need to. Are you going to the dr everyday now? And they dont take blood at each visit? Thats seems odd only cause I would assume they want to make sure that your follies are producing E2 and will be good to go. Once cycle i was stemming for ever same as you and then one day my 13 jumped to a 17 and a 19...I was like whoah! I was getting annoyed going everyday and wanted a day off BUT i see with that jump you just never know. That 19 could jump as its the right size so you're probably getting close. The ones that are 13/15 should certainly make it...lets hope those few smaller ones join the party as well. We want to think what else we should be doing but it really is on your body so try to relax and let you're body work. No crazy exercising, take it easy so the magic of the meds can help the follies. Is one side greater then the other? Is what I'm going to say work or help...who knows. But the one cycle I had a big one I kept putting the cetritide on that side and the rest of the meds on the other to keep everything at bay.
dragonette505 alright so what diet should i be following...I try to eat healthy bit since i've gained so much weight i'm sure i'm not...I don't think I eat too much over processed...but i guess if we went through my diet for a week you would disagree. You're response really is so encouraging, its nice you're ovaries are still youngish...not like my old ladies What are the other 2 books again...my computer crashed and i lost my search to get them. @Hopeful_mom...sorry that was probably confusing ! Lol My practice has you come in for blood work 7, 10 & 14 days after egg retrieval. On day 7 and 10 they test only your estrogen and progesterone levels then on day 14 they do a beta, progesterone and estrogen. I may test tomorrow morning...I'm getting a bad feeling now though
@Malibu45 No my clinic does not test estrogen or progesterone, I'm just on supplements of both; 4 tablets of estrace daily and PIO (progesterone in oil) shots twice daily.
No symptoms really... sore boobs, but thats from the progesterone (any time I've had more than one follicle I've had that symptom). Today is the first day I have a bit of a headache. I normally get intermittent cramping post ovulation, so nothing different there. *sigh* I wish I felt different, it's discouraging there are no tell tale symptoms. I've been a little tired? But it could be me just recovering from the stress of last week!
Me 34 DH 36 Married since July 2010 MFI (High DNA Fragmentation) & Mild endometriosis
TTC #1 since June 2015 Aug 2016 - May 2017 6 IUI's with letrozole - BFN April 2017 - laparoscopy to remove mild endo June 2017 - Mini IVF letrozole 12.5mg, Gonal-F 75IU - Cancelled early ovulation, no eggs retrieved. Aug/Sept 2017 - Mini IVF letrozole 12.5mg, Gonal-F 75IU, cetrotide - 13 eggs retrieved, 11 mature 5 eggs ICSI'd 6 eggs frozen - 1 day 5 blast transfered, 2 expanded blast frozen - BFP! May 2018 - Baby girl born - Our Joy
TTC #2 since July 2019 July 2019 - FET - BFN Jan 2020 - FET - canceled due to family health issues Mar 2020 - FET - low beta - chemical pregnancy July 2020 - ICSI'd remaining 6 eggs - 3 fertilized - 2 survived to early blast stage, transfered both - Chemical Pregnancy
I'm on crinone twice a day and estrace twice a day. My boobs have been slightly sore, little quesy and extremely tired..also I'm sure from the progesterone
angelbea i need to check this article out but i'm such a carb girl for sure!!
My last u/s was 2 days ago, but now I am going every day, but I think that is because I only have stim meds for through tonight, so if I need to stim another day, I will need to get those meds from the clinic tomorrow. She first scheduled me for an 8 am appointment, and I said, "Um, are there any later appointments?" [since it's a Saturday!] and I got a later one at a much more reasonable hour;) They didn't have much sympathy for me, I'm sure, since they will be there all weekend doing transfers and ERs.
And yeah, no blood work during stim week, although I think that is why they check the lining. Will ask tomorrow.
And yes, the bigger ones are on the right, so I will do the cetrotide on the right tomorrow -- thanks for the tip!! And good advice re letting my body just do what it does. I didn't really exercise at all this week, as I've been really tired, so listening to it is good. [Although I "listened" to it at lunch time today and it ordered the fries with my grilled chicken sandwich!]
Me: 41; DH: 45 Both married for the first time in our 40s; went straight to IVF after multiple fibroid surgeries (2/17) ER: #1: agonist/antagonist protocol: 19 eggs; 8 mature; 13 fertilized; 1 7-day blast (6BA = abnormal/non-viable) (4/17) ER: #2: same protocol but stimmed an extra 2 days: 16 eggs; 10 mature (5 more matured in lab); 13 fertilized; 2 6-day blasts (5AA & 6BA) & 2 7-day blasts (6BA & 5BB): only 1 Day 6 6BA tested normal! FET on 7/10/17 Beta on 7/21/17: Negative:( (8/17) ER #3: 9 eggs; 6 mature; 3 fertilized; 1 7-day blast (6BA = abnormal/non-viable) Developed severe complications (abdominal bleeding) following egg retrieval which required hospitalization, transfusion & emergency surgery. Done with IVF.
@ReesaAnne16 and @Malibu45 The days until your beta will fly by. Mine have for sure. I really hope you gals get positives. I wish I would've done a fresh transfer. The PIO shots aren't so bad anymore. I'm sore for maybe 2 hours before I go to bed and I wake up fine. I'm on Estradiol 3 times a day and then PIO at night. They don't check my estrogen or progesterone at all. I would really like to know what they are. Anyways, I've got sore bewbs and tiny cramps here and there but I'm sure that's meds and gas.
@Hopeful_mom I know when to tell myself not to do something and I'm pretty good about sticking to it. I feel like my 1.5WW has been much more relaxing because I don't know one way or the other. I'm already thinking about next steps and hopefully my RE will agree. I want to have the endo removed, try an IUI or 2 and then try the last embryo if needed. All that will most likely take at least 6 months to complete and by then I should have a hefty stock ownership payment under my belt to put towards another round of IVF.
@dragonette505, @hopeful_mom Thanks! The appointment went well. We didn’t do PGS testing, so our RE thinks it was just a bad embryo. He expressed some concern that the number of eggs retrieved was low compared to what he would have expected given the relatively high number of follicles I had but he still doesn’t think there’s a real issue on my end. The two embryos we have left are rated Fair (BB) each. I understand our lab is pretty strict, and getting a Good is difficult. We had a Good (BB) and it didn’t take, so whatever. Since I’m 34, he still wants to only implant one at a time. If we burn through these two and nada, we’ll be more aggressive (i.e., implanting two instead of one). I’m fine with all of this. My biggest complaint is that we can’t do the FET until my October cycle because now I have to do an SHG and redo some bloodwork (we did the blood today), since it’s been over a year since my initial tests. I’m glad I don’t have to repeat the HSG, which was a horrible experience that I never want to do again, but I suspect the SHG won’t be much better given how much my uterus loves to cramp at the slightest inconvenience. Oh well.
I saw @BusinessWife started an October FET, which I’ll definitely join while continuing to hang out here and cheer all you lovely ladies on!
@BusinessWife WOW! Congratulations! That is fantastic!! Get lots of rest and try not to stress to much. Can’t wait to hear your fertilization report tomorrow.
@allycheer00 Thinking lots of positive thoughts and hoping you get some really good news tomorrow!
I appreciate all the diet advice @dragonette505, @ReesaAnne16, and anyone else I missed. It’s a well-timed question, since I decided maybe I, too, should take “It Starts with an Egg” seriously—instead of just dabbling with some of the vitamins she recommends—in case we need to redo the entire IVF cycle. I’ll have to go back and read her diet chapter and check out that other book. I think I could convince DH to try a Mediterranean diet….
Hey!! @Bababatty. Will love to see you on the October thread and be FET* buddies of sorts! We didn't opt for pgs either, so I'm afraid we may have to expect some failed transfers, too, once we get going. :'( but fx then for the next one, and better things to come!
I'm not any kind of expert or tracking my food or anything lately, but I always try to get plenty of protein, and try to choose whole grains over plain white carbs whenever possible. Whole fat dairy, healthy fats, and lots of veggies!!! I actually want to try and find out more about Bradley method for pregnancy nutrition. I like that it focuses on what whole, nutritious foods to INCLUDE in your day/week, and not so much about restricting what NOT to eat.
dragonette505 alright so what diet should i be following...I try to eat healthy bit since i've gained so much weight i'm sure i'm not...I don't think I eat too much over processed...but i guess if we went through my diet for a week you would disagree. You're response really is so encouraging, its nice you're ovaries are still youngish...not like my old ladies What are the other 2 books again...my computer crashed and i lost my search to get them. I'm going to be at work all night i must focus!
Lol... you made normies with the diet you're on so I wouldn't go crazy! I think in general chemical preservatives are not great, but again, you made great embies. I would say for most people the easy thing to try and the only clinically tested and proven diet to improve fertility and fetal health is the Mediterranean diet! The books I read were: It starts with egg, and: How to improve egg quality. They are great! I mean NOBODY could do all the things they suggest! If I did I would spend my day doing nothing but meditating and eating supplements! Lol nobody's got time for that!!! I feel like if you didn't have all those gorgeous embies I'd say go all crazy trying diets and supplements. But since you do, I'd just add more of the food that promote healthy pregnancies and getting ready for transfer.

Yes @dragonette505 I'll post whatever is happening. Since I joined here, I couldn't stop getting involved. Honestly, none of my family members (both my side and DH side) know we're doing IVF. We just don't want them to worry so much for us. Only a couple of friends from church and a couple from work know this. This forum is a big help for me for I can at least voice out even the tiny ache and tear that happen as soon as they happen.
i want to give a special shout out to your gifs
It is almost 10am now and I've stopped any foods and drinks.. we'll be off to the hospital soon.

So excited for you!!! It is just after midnight here, and I have just had my last few bites of 2nd dinner, plus fiber, and lots of water... and maybe one of my injection chocolates. GL to you today!!!!
We are similar in that most of our family and friends don't know, bc we didn't want to make them worry, and we hope to just be able to share happy news before too long!!! My sister in law knows, and just a couple close friends, but that's it. Apart from my Bump friends!!!! Seriously these ladies are amazing and have helped me get through so much to get up to this point, and here now today, IVF included. I am just so Beyonce incredibly grateful for them.
@safire3 wishing you all the best tomorrow!
Happy Friday everyone!
i hate autocorrect.... turned your beyond to Beyoncé somehow....... but on epic retrieval day.... it stays because it fits!!

@Bababatty Hopefully you can get some good info today! Update us on what they say!!
@tnh0413 you're responding reat no need to worry!
dragonette505 looking forward to your update gif queen!

But this cycle isn't going to impact your transfer.... you got this.
dragonette505 ReesaAnne16where were u ladies when i first started this journey, i'm angry with myself that i didn't look into better egg quality and relied more on my RE. I think because my AFC count was decent on that first visit she just didn't think I would have an issue is my guess. But since I did so many IUIs i couldve been making my eggs stronger in the mean time...8 cycles later

I think if people are generally healthy and not infertile, why bother, but ive seen so many people have success going off gluten that if I wasn't already GF I know id try it!
hell, my old azz got 17 and 18 my last two cycles which is cray...
Both married for the first time in our 40s; went straight to IVF after multiple fibroid surgeries

FET on 7/10/17
Beta on 7/21/17: Negative:(
(8/17) ER #3: 9 eggs; 6 mature; 3 fertilized; 1 7-day blast (6BA = abnormal/non-viable)
Developed severe complications (abdominal bleeding) following egg retrieval which required hospitalization, transfusion & emergency surgery. Done with IVF.

You're response really is so encouraging, its nice you're ovaries are still youngish...not like my old ladies

Both married for the first time in our 40s; went straight to IVF after multiple fibroid surgeries
(2/17) ER: #1: agonist/antagonist protocol: 19 eggs; 8 mature; 13 fertilized; 1 7-day blast (6BA = abnormal/non-viable)
(4/17) ER: #2: same protocol but stimmed an extra 2 days: 16 eggs; 10 mature (5 more matured in lab); 13 fertilized; 2 6-day blasts (5AA & 6BA) & 2 7-day blasts (6BA & 5BB): only 1 Day 6 6BA tested normal!
FET on 7/10/17
Beta on 7/21/17: Negative:(
(8/17) ER #3: 9 eggs; 6 mature; 3 fertilized; 1 7-day blast (6BA = abnormal/non-viable)
Developed severe complications (abdominal bleeding) following egg retrieval which required hospitalization, transfusion & emergency surgery. Done with IVF.
@BusinessWifeCan't wait to hear that fert report!!

I feel like if you didn't have all those gorgeous embies I'd say go all crazy trying diets and supplements. But since you do, I'd just add more of the food that promote healthy pregnancies and getting ready for transfer.
