I think I felt baby move for the first time on Friday, at exactly 18weeks. I was driving and the seat belt in my lap must have been putting a little pressure on her, because it almost felt like a teeny tiny fist was knocking at my uterus, right below my belly button. It happened a few times within a minute or so. Then I felt the same thing happen the next day driving again, then again when I leaned forward at the dinner table! I was hesitant to say it was the baby moving but I don't think I can deny it now!
DH was able to feel baby from the outside last night! Which is *actually* insane because he couldn't feel DS until like 24+ weeks last time! Ahhhh it's so exciting!
I'm 16+5 and for the last 20-30 minutes I've felt on and off what sort of feels like a pulse or heartbeat slightly right of center under my ribcage. I felt it shortly after I sat down and started eating some oatmeal. I'm having twins, so I guess it's possible that one of them could be that high up, right? I don't remember ever feeling anything like this before, so I'm pretty sure it's not gas. Has anyone had movement/kicks that felt that way?
@leilagphillips I've been feeling movements all over the place for the past few days and have definitely had that pulsing feeling under my ribcage. I'm hesitant to call that baby because it's so high up but I do have a short torso and the sensation is similar to the other movements that are lower.
@kvacmak hmmm... yeah, I googled it and saw that might be a possibility. I'm way more attuned to my body right now than I normally am, so it's possible it's happened before but I just didn't really notice or think much of it.
My DH felt Baby A kick for the first time last night!!
@leilagphillips previously DH could only feel MY heartbeat when putting his hand on my bump, so could be that. My uterus is just about an inch or 2 under the center of my ribs at 19+5. Ask your doc or US tech where the top of your uterus is at your next appointment! I kinda guesstimated how big until I asked and then could feel the difference, and now how big its gotten. Good side is you should definitely start feeling them soon (usually quicker than singletons), and then they just get more often after it starts!
Oh my goodness, I am sitting at work, just had a snack and a bunch of water, and I'm 99.99% sure I felt the first flutters that I have felt. FTM, and 19 weeks and a few days today. It happened a few times in a row, around the same spot, down low in my abdomen, and definitely didn't feel like anything digestive happening.
Just felt like little flutters, and happened a few times for different lengths of time.
I am beyond thrilled and distracted at work now!
lol.

I tried the flashlight trick with my phone, moving it around where I guessed baby's face is, and felt a nice strong kick on my hand. I'm just... so happy and giggly. It's sheer delight!

I actually felt the baby kick last night! With the anterior placenta, it's just been small flutters, but I felt visible movement with my hand! It was super low too. I figure it was probably just on the edge of the placenta!
I felt something a few days ago pretty consistently and my DH even felt one "kick" from the outside (almost 19w FTM). I haven't felt the same thing in the past few days (at least not consistently). Could the baby have moved around to a place I don't feel as well or was what I felt not a kick?
I'm 17+1 and thought I felt something like the popping sensation people have talked about while laying down. I'm a FTM so I don't really feel confident enough to say for sure though. Just gonna have to wait and see if I start to feel anything more definitive soon!
@MJDsquared same here. I felt a weird little popcorn pop laying down the other day, and twice two other random feelings. I'm not sure enough to be sure though! I'm 21+2 but I have an anterior placenta

I've still not felt much as far as the babies go, I feel her more than the little boy since his placenta is lower and in front. I'm hoping to start feeling them more consistently going forward, I'm a very nervous IVF FTM. I'm 19 weeks today.
@ashtynmo the movement you feel will be very sporadic at first--it could be days before you feel something again. It's not till later in the pregnancy that you will pick up consistent patterns of movement and can do kick counts.

I posted that I felt the first movement a week or two ago. Then nothing for a long time. Well yesterday must have been an exciting day for LO because I felt it often! After I ate grilled cheese from In and Out haha. And then while I was sitting at a baseball game. It was so surprising to me how I went from no feeling - to super active in like 1/2 hr spurts. LO must be getting stronger. It was pretty cool.
I think I'm starting to feel movement. I don't really know, but the past couple nights I've felt something. Mainly when I'm laying on my left side. I don't know if she's hanging out there, so the pressure makes it more noticeable? Or if she doesn't like it so she's moving in protest? Or maybe just strange gas or it's all in my head?

Woah woah woah woooooaaaahhhh! I've been having a few flutters here and there for a week or so, but just now I felt FULL ON taps and kicks on my left side - which is my very active Baby B. Wow! So rad! I'm 17 + 3 today
At my last checkup the nurse practitioner told me I probably wouldn't feel anything until 24w (I'm a FTM), I'm over 18 weeks now and felt some tiny pop-like taps earlier today. Is this is my head? Is that too early?
FYI I've been propping my hips up while laying on my back the last week hoping to get baby girl out of my pelvis for my ultrasound tomorrow. When I do that, I can feel movements so much more distinctly and she is a lot more active. Maybe try it?
@kvacmak yes! I totally know what you mean. We did this stretch (briefly) in yoga where we put a bolster under where the hips/sacrum meet the spine to try and stretch the lower back a little, and I could feel LO way more. It was like the space compressed so I could feel more of the little wiggles and subtler movements.
Baby was giving me some stronger kicks last night so I told H to hurry up and put his hand on my stomach, and he felt his first kick!!! Made me so happy!

@jamiekay123 I'm a FTM and started feeling regular movement between 17 and 18 weeks. I was a little worried that it was too early (especially because I have an anterior placenta and wasn't expecting to feel anything till much later). I told my doctor at my 20w checkup and she said that I must have an active little one. I sure do Nothing to worry about- enjoy those baby flutters!
Has anyone felt like baby has done a 180? He was head down at our anatomy scan last week and I'd been feeling kicks throughout my abdomen up to my belly button. In the last couple of days, the kicks have been much lower and feel deeper (and take more concentration to notice). I'm also peeing a lot more frequently... I think he's tap dancing on my bladder!
I'm 18 weeks and I think I've been feeling movement, but haven't told anyone except DH. I tend to have a lot of GI issues so it's easy for me to convince myself it's just gas! When I feel a flutter, I try to press my hand on the area, but end up only feeling my pulse. Oh well.
@blueskies17 It's totally normal for baby to move around. Just wait until he kicks your cervix! As they get bigger and run out of room, you'll feel kicks and punches to your ribs, bladder, and cervix, and they'll be much stronger--at some point, it stops being such a wonder every time and becomes a pain occasionally. That's when you'll be ready for the eviction notice!

ETA: also felt the outside thump! Probably would be able to feel that more often if this baby was more predictable.
