How do you know if you have an anterior placenta? At my 8w US they said I have an inverted uterus but they have never mentioned my placenta. I have no other ultrasounds until 20w.
I would think the only way you would know is if the US tech told you. By the time you have your next appointment it won't really matter anymore bc you'll likely be feeling movement by then and I believe (I could be wrong) that's the only thing anterior placenta does; muffles baby kicks.
@ashtynmo I found out at the 12 week NT scan. The ultrasound technician was taking a bunch of measurements and wrote that on one the scans. I asked about it and she confirmed that I have an anterior placenta.
Exact same thing. The tech just happened to mention it right at the beginning of the NT scan when she was trying to get oriented to take LO's measurements. Next appointment I do want to ask if they could be more specific, because like I said (somewhere else here I think?) when I use the doppler I can hear the placenta "whooshing through trees" sound more towards the top and left side of my uterus I think.

Anterior placenta here with my first and now with this one. DD was 20 weeks when I first felt her moving. Just hit 14 weeks over the weekend and I am pretty sure I have felt some small movements but I am not calling it yet!
@ashtynmo I went to an elective ultrasound place and on the paper they gave me said I had an anterior/fundal (front/top) placenta. They never said anything at my doctors office during the other two ultrasounds I have had.

@blueskies17 Same. Two pregancies, two anterior placentas. Even with the twins I didn't really feel movement until 21 weeks or so... Last night as I was laying in bed I did feel some movement but it was most likely gas, because i'm only almost 15 weeks. I anticipate in another month, I might feel something! I did really pop out this last week though and maternity pants are inevitable now...
STM, and I feel the first little rumbles just shy of 13 weeks. I'm 15w2d now and feel something every night and sometimes during the day. With DD I think I felt movement around 17 weeks, but it really does feel a bit like gas or digestion if you don't know what you're feeling for!
TTM and 13 weeks 4 days. I had anterior placentas with my other two pregnancies and did not feel movement until closer to 18+ weeks. I've been feeling big movements today that feel like baby is rolling over. I have an appointment Friday but not sure if I'll have an ultrasound to confirm placenta placement or not. We shall see!
Second time mom. I found out this time that I have a heart shaped uterus. This revelation has made finding baby a little easier because he tends to be on the end of one of the 'horns'. No consistent moving yet but I do feel him flip over once or twice a day. Usually when I lay down on the couch or in my bed. Baby is definitely active so I'm hoping to feel kicks and more very soon!
Today has been weird. I kept feeling what I thought was gas, but it has been consistently in the same spot, low and central.. which doesn't really make sense for gas... but I am having a hard time believing it's baby because it's SO STRONG! I've been feeling flutters for about a week but this is so much different! So so weird!
I might be feeling something today! It's hard to believe that a FTM with anterior placenta would feel movement at 17 weeks, but this is undeniably... something. The faintest of flutters under my bellybutton, pretty sure it's not gas. Maybe twitches from a growing uterus? I just ran out of water, will ask my DH (works down the hall) to go get more for me to see if it was temp-sensitive. Don't want to get my hopes up, but... I might be getting my hopes up.
Had to immediately sign onto the bump bc for the last 10 minutes I've either been feeling some movement or I have to poop. Lol. I can't tell but it feels like air movement in my pelvic area so I'm all excited. 16+3 seems too early to believe though

Question. This early along, how often or how long will u feel movements?
Stuck in a box: I'm a TTM, so you can take this with a grain of salt: 15 weeks, I am just starting to feel daily, but not a ton. Usually a concentrated bunch of movements one time a day.
A week or so ago it was hit or miss if I felt anything.
really it's so individual and honestly you can miss feeling them if you're having a busy day or something, so I wouldn't worry too much about inconsistency right now.
TTM but I can't remember.. when can you start feeling them on the outside? I'm guessing it would be a bit earlier with twins, I really can't wait for DH and kids to feel them move around!
With my first my DH could feel movement at about 17 weeks and with this LO my OB was able to feel movement today at 15+5. LO doesn't like the Doppler or the OB pushing on my uterus. We were both pretty surprised but she reminded me that everyone's body and baby are different, so there's a wide range of normal.

@AMCsquared I'm 16+2 and for the past two days it's been undeniable: there's someone moving in there! I don't feel bubbles, but little pops. It's early, but according to my midwife very well possible.
@AMCsquared with DD it was flutters. With this one, its waving movement. I was in denial for a while but it has to be what I'm feeling. It just took longer to get to this stage last pregnancy
@amcsquared I'm jealous! I haven't felt anything yet but my doctor told me that even if I start feeling movement before 20 weeks (and it's ok if I don't), I shouldn't expect it to be regular or anything. I can't tell you what's supposed to happen after that because she only gives me enough information to get me through the stretch before I have my next appointment with her lol.
FTM here.. I felt something on Father's Day (about 15w4d) like flutters.. once below my belly button and the 2nd on my left... I couldn't tell what it was so I sucked it up to it being gas. Nothing really happened over the next 2 weeks... We're now come to this past Tuesday (one day shy of 17w) and I'm laying in bed when I felt thump, thump, thump (like a small flick to the ear). I pushed down on my belly to see if it'll happen again and nothing. I talked to my sister in law (who has 4 kids with 2 under 2) and she said that it most likely was him saying "hey what's up? I'm here" lol. I don't have my next appointment until the 7th.

@AMCsquared That's a great way to explain the feelings I have. I was trying to explain it to my friend and my SO, but I like the rolling wave description.
I felt a few taps this morning while I was driving and I was like, okay that has to be baby! Then I started giggling maniacally -- happiest I've felt in a long time

@dkizz82@clovelyone cool! i wasn't sure if i was right bc i kept seeing popcorn and butterfly descriptions, so it's nice to know u both felt waves too!
@blueskies17 i wasn't expecting to feel already! now i will be checking for the feeling every night at 7 pm LOL! how many weeks are you now?

@AMCsquared The rolling waves are what I first felt with both DD and this LO. Now I'm getting popcorn, flutters, and a few good jabs to the belly button (happened tonight and it was AH-MAZING!).
@babytime24 I hit 18 weeks today, and for the last week or so I'm pretty sure I've been feeling gentle movements every now and then. At first I was in denial ("it's too early, must be gas/stretching"), but I finally decided to go with it and assume it's baby saying hello.
So last night I woke up a handful of times. At one point, I was laying on my side with my hand on my belly...and I think I felt a kick. I jumped up....and realized I honestly have NO IDEA if it was real or a dream. It's not uncommon for me to wake myself out of dreams when something shocking happens. So I have no clue if I've felt the baby yet or not....

lol! the struggle is real with dreams, @Tennis11785 . honestly you'll feel the kick internally before you will externally. hand on stomach shouldn't matter.
this morning at my physical therapy appointment, my therapist was having me try a new exercise. well, the baby certainly had an opinion on it! every time i tried to do it, he/she kicked me. over and over. eventually i was just laughing too hard and the tech was like, "what's your problem?? " "the baby does not approve of this new exercise"

@anewadventure that's what I thought. Up until today, I was convinced that it was a dream. But when I was laying in bed this morning (and I know I was awake), I felt something similar (no hand on stomach this time, felt it internally but it was the same feeling). So either some weird gas, or I'm feeling the first kicks.

I don't know how I'm going to get anything done at work, the twins are very distracting when they kick! It's usually just one at a time, so seems like twice as often!
I'm pretty sure I felt my first Little kicks! It was the middle of the night and I couldn't sleep. I was laying on my back and DH knee fell onto my uterus area. Then immediately after I felt three little taps from inside. So crazy! It was so light that I almost didn't believe it. But I guess it was kicking Daddy. Haha I'm 16 weeks and a FTM. Didn't think I would feel anything this early!
After a few days of denial, I'm pretty sure that I've started feeling baby boy's movements! I felt a couple of light taps on Saturday at 17w and thought it was in my head. Last night I felt them again and started to think it might actually be baby. Today I have felt flutters and taps throughout the day, all on the left side of my belly! When the US tech told me that I have an anterior placenta at my NT scan, she said that I would feel the movements on my left side at first (the placenta must be shifted to the right?) She was totally right! I didn't think I would feel anything for another month, so I'm super excited!!
FTM at 17+1. I think I might've felt baby movements for the first time today! I was messaging my DH about checking out a glider from a BST group when I felt the popcorn feeling in my pelvic region, right where my OB had checked for the heartbeat yesterday. I honestly wouldn't have thought anything of it if I hadn't lurked in this thread. I've been joking that baby must've been telling me to get the glider
I'm 15 + 4 and I've been able to feel baby move from about 14w. With my first I felt him around 16/17w. Forgot how it feels, but every time it amazes me. Feels so weird when baby is turning round, but love it
I hardly ever feel LO move:( I am 18w and it's driving me batty because I feel like it should be more noticeable by now, especially since this is baby #2. Anyone in the same boat?
Momma to Amelia Marie (7/14) and Austin Samuel (11/17). Adding baby (girl) #3 on 7/21
I'm a STM approaching 15w (tomorrow), and I can't say I've felt anything for certain yet. With DS I first felt movement at 16w exactly, so I figured I'd feel it sooner this time. I've had a couple questionable feelings, but I'm not totally sure it was baby.
