Some lucky D'17 mamas are starting to feel baby movements. Tell us all about your baby's itty bitty kicks- are you a FTM/STM, when did you start feeling movements during this pregnancy and/or prior pregnancies, what does it feel like?
I'm a FTM with an anterior placenta, so I'll probably have to live vicariously through you guys for a while!
Re: Baby Movements
STM here. anterior placenta both pregnancies.
first pregnancy: didn't officially feel movement til 23 WEEKS. but this is because i didn't know what i was looking for. at 23 weeks it was three giant karate chops to my abdomen, so basically i couldn't possibly convince myself it was gas. i shot up out of my work chair like WHAT THE HELLLLLL
this pregnancy: between 14-15 weeks! so exciting! this is just the basic little swirly movements, i only feel them when lying on my stomach and more recently every single night when i get in bed and finally calm down from the day. first small kick/punch was last night.
i think you feel them earlier the second time around partially because you just know what it feels like already. i also am definitely "expanding" much faster than last time (LOL). if you think you feel something but aren't sure, you can always try to get the baby to respond by pressing on your uterus or otherwise applying some impetus such as light or cold. this is why lying on your stomach often works, because you compress the space and baby is like "gerrof me man!"

Im a third time mom and my first two boys weren't anywhere near as active. I felt my first around 17 weeks and my second liked to kick a lot so I felt him first at about 13 weeks or so.
definitely nothing consistent yet.
I felt DS around 17 weeks, in the car with my seat belt pressed against my belly.
I'm totally jealous of you ladies that can still lay on your stomachs. I can spiral up my Snoogle pillow and leave a hole in the middle to lay face down for a bit, but no longer than 15ish minutes. Even rolling over to get out of bed has become more difficult!

ETA: so many of you (and moms on my last board) describe feeling "bubbles" or "butterflies". I've never had that! With DD, first time I felt movement it was super obvious and DH was able to feel. And this time was the same way!
Just now and this morning (15+5 today) I keep feeling something and I can't quite tell the difference between ab muscle twitches and actual flutters. Maybe both
