Hey everyone congratulations! I'm having my second and am due around the 5th so I'm going to hang here and January to be safe. I have a 10mo so I'm actually not in the best of moods due to this being so unplanned and a lot sooner than we expected. I don't want to be a Debbie Downer and will be talking to my midwife about everything at my appointment. I am currently a SAHM but am in the process of looking for a job so we can try to not have a lot of debt. Thanks for making this a safe place ladies!
Edited: Reworded. I do apologize to those that saw it originally and I'm so sorry if you may have gotten upset.
Hey ladies! This is my first post on The Bump as I am a FTM, I'm 5 weeks and got my BFP 3 days before AF was supposed to show up. EDD is 2/20/18! So excited to join you guys and have this support!
I didn't think I would be back here any time soon. I was involved on the September 2013 board when I was pregnant with my son. I got my second BFP yesterday and I was surprised to say the least. My due date is Feb. 27, 2018
I am 28 (I'll be 29 on Wednesday!) and I am currently a mental health therapist and I work with children and teens. My husband is 33 and he is a restaurant manager. We live just outside Phoenix Arizona.
I am excited to be here and get to know all of you
After my first intro back in 2016 and the unfortunate MC i experienced, i am back!! Me and my partner are expecting again. Found out i was pregnant 6/16. I took a Plan B, but looks like God had other plans and here i am. Im still wrapping my head around being pregnant. I was in denial for abt a week as i know my body, so when i took the test i wasn't surprised. I have my first doctor visit on 7/6. Im trying to stay positive and praying for a safe pregnancy and birth. Right now, i know my edd is Feb 10th 2018; Dad to be birthday is the 11th, based from my preliminary reserach, but I will know for sure when i see my doctor next month.
For now my pregancy is only known to 6 people outside of myself and my partner. Frankly, i still think thats too many lol

Hi everyone! I am 30 and my husband is 34. I am a SAHM to our daughter who will be turning 2 in September. It took almost a year for me to get pregnant with her, so I expected the same thing this time around, but to our surprise we got our BFP the third month we tried! My EDD is March 2nd, but I will be having another c-section so I am expecting to have a February baby. My first doctor's appointment is on 7/3 so I will be hanging out here and on the March board! Congrats to you all!

Hi Ladies... my name is Nikki and I'm a 35 yr old FTM. I had a miscarriage in 2009 and my husband and I have not had any luck with fertility treatments, ovulation tracking or any of that... I had given up mentally. most of June I have been experiencing many pregnancy symptoms and I finally decided to take a test on Father's Day night... positive! I didn't believe it... he went out and got more because I was just dumb founded. Well four tests later ... still positive! So excited. My due date is my birthday! Feb.12... I shared my bday with my Gma who died 2 years ago... what a blessing it is to have my rainbow baby due on the day that was so special to my Gma and I
Hey guys! I'm super new to The Bump and my pregnancy brain is having the hardest time remembering all these new abbreviations. So sorry! But I'm Shannen. Husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 3 1/2 years (42 months to be exact... not that I was counting ). We did 8 months of Clomid with no results. Then 3 rounds of IUI (AI? Is that the abbreviation?) With no results. Sent in my application for IVF then found out 2 days later I was pregnant! Super excited but super terrified of MC. But staying optimistic. I'm 29. My due date is February 9th! Having our second ultrasound in 3 days. So fingers crossed it all still looks good! Honestly wanted 2-3 kids by this point in life, but what can you do

Hi all. I am a FTM. EDD is 2/26. Excited and nervous and hoping and praying for a healthy baby at our U/S on 7/18. Please send some good vibes and good vibes to you all!
Hi Everyone! I was waiting for March to open up but decided I'd intro here too! Just got my BFP a few days ago! I have an 11 month old and we were hoping to have our kids close together so I am thrilled to be here!! I was part of the Aug 16 BMB and those ladies are some of my closest friends now! My EDD is somewhere around March 1-5 (not quite sure since I know I ovulated late). With my DS I had cholestasis and delivered at 37 weeks so there is a good chance this one will be a February baby! @hollyk224 looks like we are in similar situations!!
Congratulations ladies! I'm a 29 year old STM out of MA and my EDD is my son's 5th birthday, February 7th! This came as a complete surprise but my SO and I couldn't be more excited! We're keeping the news quiet for now but hopefully only for a couple more weeks. My family isn't really big on kids so I'm not looking forward to telling them. With DS they acted like I had just told them our family dog had been ran over instead of good news... oh well, you just can't win with some people.

You do know that you can tear from top to bottom. That you could have a csection which is major surgery. That you won't be sleeping. That you will be bleeding a shit ton. That your doctor, if worthwhile, won't approve your return to work after two weeks. That most of the moms on here, in fact, do work and are not professional moms. But. As a FTM I'm sure you got this. 100%. Go for it. Take your bloody stitched up vag back to work at 2 weeks after delivery.
@Aeml1985@JandJ62914@eggplantface That's what I thought. It's just something I wouldn't advertise, personally, especially since so many ladies here struggled to get KU and/or have had losses. It's like basically admitting that you didn't want this baby, but ending the pregnancy didn't work so you took it as a "sign" or whatever to keep it.

FTM here as well with a 2/7 EDD. I am employed full time in a very fast paced field, my mom will be keeping our baby instead of daycare and I am taking 12 weeks. I am going to miss a lot at work but I think it is worth it. I have seen from so many of my friends who have children that you need that time to heal and establish a routine with your child. Ultimately you are the only one who can decide what is best for you but as the experienced moms on here have said 2 weeks is really short.

I'm a surgeon and the primary breadwinner for my family (husband is a SAHD). I'm still taking 12 weeks. This is my third (and probably last) baby, and I took 8 weeks with my first and 12 weeks with my second. No job is worth going back after 2 weeks.

I think it is also important to remember that pregnancy can bring out many different emotions based on situations. It may be incredibly joyous to someone who has been trying to get pregnant, but if someone was actively tryinging to avoid getting pregnant, for whatever reason, it can feel incredibly stressful and scary. These people need support too and should be able to share about their feelings openly.
@lainikins I think I would need more info to jump to that conclusion. Because needing to use plan B doesn't exactly scream 'actively avoiding pregnancy'. And a lot of women here have had losses or gone through IF to get pregnant and saying 'I used plan B and still got pregnant' is pretty gross, and feels like rubbing it in.

To me using plan b is trying to avoid getting pregnant. It might not be the form of birth control preferred by many, but she still made the decision that she did not want to be pregnant. I can see that it may be interpreted as "rubbing it in" but my interpretation was that she was sharing her story. I completely understands where she is coming from. I am really scared and did not want to be pregnant again. I got pregnant while on an IUD. If I had known that it had failed me, I probably would have true detective plan b as well. I am not rubbing it is that I am pregnant, but I know that I can here looking for support and not judgement. You do no I now that she was not not trying to avoid being pregnant. A condom could have broken, prompting her to try plan b. Even if it was not a condom, plan b is an emergency contraceptive, used to prevent pregnancy.
*Lurker* There are ways of saying, "We weren't planning, we weren't prepared and I'm kind of scared" that express where you're coming from without complete disregard for the infertility and/or loss moms. It takes just a couple more moments to put yourself in someone else's shoes and realize it's important and worth it to be careful how you word things.
I've seen it from most directions. I've had times in the past where I wasn't ready and realized my period was late and sat in a bathroom crying and hoping for a negative test. *TW* I've also lost two desperately wanted pregnancies. I've struggled and still struggle with infertility.
From those experiences, I've seen that there's plenty of room to have your own issues while also being cognizant of and sensitive to the issues of others. Everyone has their own fears and worries.
The issue is when it comes off as "LOL, Fertile Myrtle problems! Amiright?!" It's the lol part that twists the knife.
If nothing else, this is the introductions thread. It's where people are making their first impressions. Don't you want it to be a good one? If, in this thread, you can't be bothered to craft something that expresses your feelings but is also tactful, it doesn't bode well for the future.

Hi ladies. I got my BFP on 6/8. It was a pretty big surprise since I had just stopped taking my birth control 5/7. We definitely didn't think we'd get pregnant right away! But so exciting. And nerve racking! I have an internal US 6/29 & I'm beyond nervous. My EDD is 2/13.

My sister had to go back to work at 3 week PP as a single mom with no paid leave. It was awful on her body.
If this is a financial decision made out of necessity, I can understand it and hope that you find a way to make it work for you. But if you just think that you should go back sooner for professional reasons, I would rethink that. I had a rough delivery and at 2 weeks PP could barely walk unassisted, was constantly engorged, my son was nursing 14 hours out of the day, and I was sleeping less than 3-4 hours a night. You should not put yourself through that if you have another option.
Hello everyone!! I've been lurking the bump since December when DH and I started trying for baby #5!! We have a 10y/o DD, 8y/o DS, 3y/o(almost 4) DS, and a 2y/o DS. We're so excited for our final addition in Jan/Feb. EDD is 1/31. If it's ok, I'm going to stay here. The late month due date and the intense urgency to have baby once everyone starts having theirs can be discouraging. I rather focus on February. I hope that makes sense.
@kiki75 You said it perfectly. All I was trying to say that the way it came out was strange and a bit of a slap in the face. If it's was me I would 1) not admit about the Plan B part and/or 2) explain how I felt about it, like you said. I'll drop it now.

We had our first u/s today and saw a heartbeat! This group seems huge right now, but I look forward to getting to know some of you better as we take this crazy journey.
Hey all! Intro-ing here for now. Just got a BFP two days ago after feeling off for well over a week. I'm a SAHM, DH is a Navy veteran, DS is 2 (Feb '15 babe), and I have a 6 year old step son. I also nanny my friend's daughters, ages 5 and 3. So I've got a houseful all day 4 days a week! I'll either be due at end of Feb or beginning of March I'm thinking. Calling tomorrow to make an appointment with my doc to confirm.
Looking forward to this adventure and getting to know you all! ❤

If nothing else, this is the introductions thread. It's where people are making their first impressions. Don't you want it to be a good one? If, in this thread, you can't be bothered to craft something that expresses your feelings but is also tactful, it doesn't bode well for the future.

Today I finally feel more comfortable joining the board, although I have been lurking (especially my TTGP girls) for the past 2 weeks. We got our BFP on 6/11 and our EDD is 2/19. I am a FTM but second pregnancy *tw we had an early mc 3 years ago tw*. I am 33 and DH is 38. We are PAIF! This is a much awaited time in our life, and I am trying to enjoy every minute of it. We had our first u/s today and saw a heartbeat! This group seems huge right now, but I look forward to getting to know some of you better as we take this crazy journey.
I'll either be due at end of Feb or beginning of March I'm thinking. Calling tomorrow to make an appointment with my doc to confirm.
Looking forward to this adventure and getting to know you all! ❤
