@anne11716 We've used Chicco NextFit convertible since LO was born. Super easy to install, and nice and hefty. We have one in each of our cars. Here a shot of the top 3 rated from Consumer Reports—
Target is doing a car seat trade in deal where if you bring in any car seat they'll give you 20% off a new one and you didn't have to buy the original at Target, they'll take any seat and recycle it.
We are using his graco click connect until he's too big (22 lb I think?) we have already purchased the britax marathon and will be installing that soon enough!
We used the target trade in deal to get the Diono radian rxt. There are weird things about it, but it's been working. And he looks comfortable in it right now. It is very long, so if you have a small car it might not work. No one can sit in my front seat with it in there.
@desoky01 we won a diono radian xt at a preschool auction last month. It will be DD's car seat when she out grows the current rear facing stroller combo car seat she's using now. I had never heard of a Diono before. Do you like it? We just pulled it out of the box and let our 4yr old use it in our second car and it seemed big for even her.
It's really weird to follow the directions and put together. Tightening the straps is also weird, it's like a ratchet system. He looks tiny in it, but he seems comfortable. The chest clip seems huge. It also takes up a ton of space in the car (front to back, it's pretty skinny side to side.) If you have any other questions let me know! So far I've liked it, but putting it together out of the box was a bit of an adventure. If the bump ever gets fixed I'll send a picture of him in it!
So now that our babies are 5-6 months.. who has a screen monitor they love? I want to move Nicholas to his own room upstairs and want a monitor I can see him on so I don't have to go up and down every time I want to check on him.

We use a Nest camera mounted above the crib. There's an app on the phone to check the video. Use a regular audio monitor to listen to him
Speaking of monitors, I just realized I dreamt I peeked on the video monitor and it was like an inch from his face - which in our case would mean it fell off the wal onto his face. What a strange dream
Can you recommend some books you and your LOs like? or should we start a new thread for books? LO liked the finger puppet books but i think we could get more interactive ones. she also likes some random art books that we have but she will tear them apart soon. we got few busy books but she was not interested other than putting into her mouth
A loves books that rhyme and ones I can do accents for. My SIL gave us Time for Bed and A likes the rhythm of that one. I think her favorite might be The Further Tales of Peter Rabbit bun Emma Thompson. I get to do English accentsa for Benjamin Bunny and Peter Rabbit and Scottish accents for Peter's Scottish cousins.

Will you come read to my LO hehe. I read "Goodnight Moon" the other day and half way through I was like this book is weird. Apparently I've never read it despite knowing it is popular. Oops
@kvruns - right? Goodnight Moon is such a weird book. It leaves me with so many questions! Who is the old lady? Is that supposed to be his mother? I don't want LO to think I'm old! Also, why the hell is there a bowl full of mush in his bedroom??
@ZoeFer We just discovered the book Birds by Kevin Henkes and like it a lot. Also Harold and the Purple Crayon is a good one and Runaway Bunny (the only Margaret Wise Brown book I like).
@Zoefer Moo Baa La la la goes over well with our kids. I memorized it a long time ago and so we recite it as a calming thing with ODD now and DS is digging the colors. He's also obsessed with chewing and staring at Fuzzy Bee and Friends.
Goodnight moon was my favourite book as a child and my mom STILL curses it. She's like "THATS THE MOST STUPID BOOK AND YOU HAD TO READ IT EVERY NIGHT!!!"
anyone have thoughts or opinions on baby trend jogging stroller and car seat? saw one yesterday for 130 and I'm debating buying it and figuring out how to take both back home on the plane.
@kvruns Good Night Moon is weird af. Why is there a bowl full of mush just sitting on the bedside table? That's gross. If you read the authors Wikipedia entry, it makes sense. She was probably high as a kite when she wrote it.

I have the baby trend jogger travel system and I like it. It is defintely very maneuverable (is this even a word lol) and folds/unfolds easy. It is fairly bulky though but I think most travel systems are.
ODD freaking loves Goodnight Moon... she has it memorized so I no longer have to subject myself to reading it. She's fascinated by the quiet old lady whispering hush as well as the red ballon. Go figure?
Mr Brown can Moo by Dr. Seuss is a good one. We have a bunch of board books for little one, but usually we sit ODD, little one and I and ODD picks out one of her older books.
To all the Goodnight Moon talk. We have the book, it isn't one I read as a kid. My cousin found this book called Goodnight Goon and I love it! So much better than the original. My husband and I are really into Halloween so it was perfect. Here is a link to the book.
Also LO just started being patient enough for books, well kind of. Now she wants to turn the pages and eat the book. So I am hoping to start reading to her more. Haven't done much up until this point.
i didnot grow up in the US and never heard of goodnight moon before! I am super curious now She started to smile when she sees the books and is interested in the story first but get angry when we dong lef her eat the pages so we can never finish the book Other than story books, do you use interactive books for education or entertainment yet?

I've been reading S an ABC's book and doing flash cards for colors and shapes. Granted, I'm sure she has no idea what I'm saying to her but I figure you gotta start somewhere .
@m6agua do you still like the Breaze stroller? Do you know if the covers are washable? There is one on my local page for $20
We just used it for the first time in Chicago the last couple days. I like it. I think the basket is larger than comparable strollers which was important to me. It was easy to fold and open, had a cup holder. The one negative is it can be hard to push one handed as the handle is not one bar, but that didn't bother me. Oh and for a tall person the handles are not adjustable. If I can find some of the pictures that really show it I will post.
Has anyone ever ordered from Lenny Lemons? The site just seems to cute to be true. I'm shopping around for one mama & me photo session, and I'm afraid to order from their site.
