Re: Names?

  • @huskermom14 I love both of those so much!!  Everly is on our short list.  The boy names are the ones giving us a hard time.

Still no clue and hardly any discussion going on in my house.
My top three right now are Max, Leo and August (Augie or Gus or both). Can't decide on a long form for Max and I think we'd go with just Leo no long form. Any opinions on those three?

We're using Max (well really Maxwell) - so I'm a fan. :) We also considered Augustin, so I like august as well!
  • Thanks @CurlyMommy416 and @Stankonia2014

Boy names were so hard for us last time around too, Curly. I don't know what changed this time around, but I am glad that this LO has a name either way!
  • @danijo-2 this baby would have been August if we werent having a girl so I love it. I think its uncommon without being weird.
  • @danijo-2 I love Max! We need a non-one syllable name to work with our last name, or it would be close to the top of my list.
    Me 37, DH 40
    BFP #1 6/13 DD 3/14
    Mirena 10/14-5/16
    BFP #2 9/2/16, CP confirmed 9/8/16
    BFP #3 10/10/16 EDD 6/22/17
  • @danijo-2 August has been a favorite of mine for years now. I loooove the nn Gus!
  • @danijo-2 I love love love August. It is one of my favorite boy names especially since we were married in August. Dh didn't like it so I named our dog August Ezekiel. Lol our animals always get people names. He lives with my in laws right now and they call him Auggie.
  • I love August nn Gus. My sister used it for my nephew otherwise I would have used it. Max and Leo are great too, can't go wrong with any of those three.
  • Glad to see so many positive experiences with Max, Leo & August. Now why can't naming a human be as easy as naming a pet. I had no issues naming my cats.

  • @danijo-2 I love August! I couldn't get DH on board with it. Augie and Gus are both great nicknames.

I like Max and August. But I don't really love the nicknames for August.
  • Every time I think my husband and I get close to a name it starts to feel wrong. Maybe I just need to meet this baby before I name her!

This was us for awhile. We tried to go with Grayson, we 'test drove' the name and it felt off, so we tried out some others and they felt off too. One finally felt right. There's no harm in waiting to meet her.
  • @Stankonia2014 I looooove Grayson.
  • @Stankonia2014 Grayson James would be this LO's name if it was a boy! Since it's a girl we are going with Mackenzie Faye.

  • @danijo-2, I love those names!!  Max and Leo were on our "boy" list (well...on my list, not sure about DH).  Great names!

  • We really struggled with #2's name!!! We knew our sons name before he was even concieved because he was named after two special people in my husband's life that had passed away recently... Jonathan Clark.
But #2 was a totally different story! DH was dead set on having an emotional connection to the name... I was really playing with the idea of giving her an "I" name because then we could be in immediate alphabetical order (my name starts with "h", baby #2 "i", DS with "J", and DH with "k") but I couldn't find anything that jumped out at me :(
Finally, I wrote all the ideas down and noticed Josephine starts with Joseph which is my dad's middle name. DH approved so baby girl will be Josephine Mae.
  • @Stankonia2014 I love the name Beau William! Very strong and classic! One of my favorite students this year is named Beau!

  • The only name dh and me are agreeing on is Ava. I've suggested Brynne, Bria, Kiera...but he thinks they're all "weird".  I was set on Ava, but I'm having second thoughts.

  • I really like Ava! It's popular, but it's classic, and the popular names on today have way lower occurrence rates than the popular names when we were kids did. I think there are just more names now!
