Sounds like so much to celebrate over the past few days! @Kipperoo -sorry for news for an early induction- continue to remind yourself that you are doing what's best for your little girl and push your doctors in making this as easy as an induction it can be for both of you!
Today is my first day of winter break. We don't go back until Jan 3. I am behind on Christmas prep and have some serious plans for home organization! Praying I stay motivated to get it down.
I work Tuesday and Wednesday and then I'm off until the next Thursday! I'm excited for the break. Plus we have our AS Thursday so it should be a good week. I still have a small amount of stocking stuffers to get. I have no idea what to put in DHs stocking. My brains too tired to think of things.
I think I might be getting sick. A few people at work have been and my throats been scratchy and now I have a sinus headache. I'm SOL on meds besides Tylenol, huh?
I forgot to add congrats on a good scan @chickyclg!! Also @Kipperoo, I'm glad that you have time to adjust to being induced at 36 wks. Praying for no NICU time for you guys!
@softsoprano DD is off for two weeks and it's a nightmare! Luckily we have lots of family close by so everyone is pitching in and taking days off.
@nda_roxybabe ugh getting sick while pregnant is the worst. Cough drops and increased water intake help. And sinus spray when the nostrils get stuffy (if they do).
Oh and ice cream. Totally a temporary but delicious relief
@chickyclg I'm very curious as well. I tried the spectra s2 had used my 3rd hand me down pisa to trade but it just didn't feel right and I was soo nervous about pump amount I never tried to keep trying to see if my output would get better
Had a great anatomy scan, @emilyalso@nda_roxybabe you were both totally right (not that I had a doubt), the technician was totally cool. She referred to Peanut as "baby" and was super nice. When we got to the point that she had to look at the genitals she told us to look away, and kept saying "almost done" "just a few more seconds" so all those nightmares were totally just my anxiety. We also got to see Peanuts little hand open and close (too cool).
Peanut passed with flying colors all looked really good, and I get to go back in 4 weeks because the Dr. didn't get a clear look at the septum of the heart due to the baby's position...so I'm excited that I get to see Peanut again.
On a side note: Is it me or does it seem they really like to press down especially on the bladder during the scan?!
That new bp sonata sounds pretty cool. Some website said there's going to be an app coming out that has the same smart technology and will work with all breast pumps. Not sure how that will work but it would be cool.
@nda_roxybabe sorry about your incoming cold! I'm just recovering and it sucked. Your OB office might have given you a list of "ok to take" medicines but I pretty much didn't take many (cause I'm a chicken). I used cough drops, drank lots of fluids, and used some saline nasal spray. I hope it passes for you quickly!
@rosemarylaff I had my AS today too and had a similar experience. They could see the 4 chambers of the heart but couldn't get a good picture so they're going to look again at what they got and let us know if they want us to come back in 10 days.
We we found out we're team PINK which has totally shocked me. We have a 2 yo son and I really thought this was a boy! It started getting real and DH and I both felt guilty when we came home that DS wasn't going to be the only baby anymore. He's the center of our world and the only grandchild on both sides and it's just going to be an adjustment.
Update: I was unable to obtain my birthday McFlurry for numerous reasons....BUT I remembered that we had ice cream and Halloween candy. Cookie dough ice cream + milk+ Oreos + Reese's = one happy 30 year old. Also, this baby boy got a whole lot of calcium. You're welcome, baby.

@Kipperoo Sorry you are in that position and that baby will have to come early, but I am thrilled for you that you have such a great team that will help you through the process! Also you are most definitely a rockstar not a failure!
@nda_roxybabe Getting sick while pregnant blows! Hope it's quick!
Congrats (and I kinda hate you) to those ladies that have had their scans already!
Oh also to you lovely folks that listen to me complain about my blind spot and urged me to go in. I finally had it checked out today by the eye dr (after some threats from my mom) and it sounds like it should clear up on its own, but could take 6-8 weeks. Also possibly could be an indicator for diabetes so I have to go for a one hour glucose test tomorrow. Hoping that is not the case, but thrilled it should clear up! Putting eye make up on my left eye has been a struggle!
You ladies are making me excited (and jealous!) for my a/s! I won't be having mine till 22wks since DH will be out of town (boo!)
We leave tomorrow for two weeks (one week with each family), from CA to northeast. I am not packed at All!! And I'm not sleeping but bumping. No regrets!
@nda_roxybabe, being sick and pregnant is the worst. At least you have an excuse to do (and eat) WHATEVER you want! Hoping you feel better soon.
@Louise_Belcher I'm so glad you got your eye checked out! And I'm glad it will likely clear itself up soon. Hoping you pass your glucose test with flying colors!
TEAM PINK! Congrats @Hansolosparka I have to say it was a tad bit difficult not peeking when we were told not to look. But thankfully that feeling passed quickly and now I just have 20 more weeks until we find out. Okay seriously I have GOT to get some work done today. Wish me luck!!
anyone have or had a partial placenta previa? They told me I had this at my anatomy scan this morning. The doctor was pretty short and said they will check it again later in the pregnancy. From what I hear, most peoples placentas end up moving and resolves itself. Naturally I headed straight to google after my appointment.
@lrwardrop with older daughter I had a low lying placenta (although they didn't use the word previa, so maybe not as low as yours.) They rechecked again in the third tri, and it had moved up. I think technically the placenta itself doesn't move in its placement on the uterus. Instead as the uterus stretches, it brings the placenta up and corrects the possible previa. I think worst case scenario if the placenta doesn't move up on its own would just be the need for a c section.
@lrwardrop at my NT scan they said I may have placenta previa. My OB is not worried and said that the placenta is in a good position right now. They will check again at my anatomy scan.
Random- my neighbor is apparently doing tree work today, and decided to wait until nap time to pull out the super loud tools. Sigh. I know that he has no clue that it's naptime, but it stinks because I know I'll have a long afternoon with cranky kiddos.

That's the worst @Squirtgun. Yesterday during nap time, the girls (aka our dogs), decided to have a barking party. I kept checking the monitor but luckily S slept right through it. Surprised the hell out of me because with the start of this leap a week or two ago, he's been scared of their barking?? I guess I could've went outside and handled them, but it was waaaay too cold and I was on the couch catching up on Top Chef!
@yiggle09 I know, me too. That other dude, the rookie, should've packed his knives... lol. Have you started watching last chance kitchen? I haven't as I think it's online only???
totally random, but YALL.... this nesting thing is no joke! I never had that need to nest with my daughter, in fact, I had NO interest in any type of cleaning although I'm normally a neat freak. I have been unable to buy ANYTHING baby related yet- we were waiting to know sexes and then it was time to buy for christmas, so come January I think i will go wild. Since I haven't been able to buy, I think I put all that into cleaning. Last night/this morning I scrubbed all my kitchen cabinets, mopped floors, scrubbed/cleaned out the refrigerator, organized all of DD's toys, did three or four loads of laundry (like, actually put away...), scrubbed my washer and dryer, and put up hooks for my mop and broom on the back of the laundry room door. I hope this energy lasts!!
@Jkp7749 Me, too! I hope the energy lasts. It's so nice to get stuff done, considering I did nothing in the first tri.
I was talking to my MIL yesterday, and she commented on how excited she was to not know the sex of the baby. I was so happy to hear her say that! Hubbs and I know, but we're keeping it a surprise for everyone else, and I'm glad to hear it's a good decision.
Random: bad cold and I'm 17 weeks. I'm a bit granola and trying to do everything all natural. Finally had to take Tylenol last night after a fever all day, and I was bummed (but toss up between fever going on too long and taking medicine.) I'm still battling the cold but no fever today.
I, too, am nesting/energetic. I've been harnessing my energy into Christmas prep. All my family and Santa presents are purchased and wrapped, my house is (mostly) clean, and I'm finally starting baking tonight. I hope this continues in to January because I still have a nursery to clean out/paint/decorate and a headboard to refinish for DD so I can kick her out of the crib.
@jkp7749 and @starphish18 I am so jealous! I have not had that fun burst of second tri energy this time around and I was so looking forward to it. @lrwardrop hopefully it corrects itself! No personal experience with this but I have read multiple stories on the bump about women with this issue and I think it does usually correct itself.
This is kind of long so I apologize in advance. I'm stressed about it, but don't really have anyone else to talk to about it because H is already worried and I don't want to worry him more. So last March I found a pretty large lump in my left breast. I went to my OB and he said it was most likely nothing but ordered an ultrasound to be sure. I was 29 at the time (turned 30 in July) and although I have a very significant family history of breast cancer, all of the cases were when the women were post-menopausal. However, it was still a pretty stressful two weeks while I waited for my appointment. In the end, it turns out there was nothing wrong at all and I have a condition called fibrocystic breast disease or fibrocysitc breast changes which basically means I have lumpy but normal breast tissue. For whatever reason, for me the issue is concentrated in one large lump in my left breast. It was obviously a huge relief to hear this.
Fast forward to this pregnancy and the lump has gone through phases where it is larger and painful as well as phases where it is smaller (which is to be expected because it is hormonally-influenced). The past few days it has been very painful and last night when I took off my bra I noticed bloody discharge on the inside of my bra (sorry if TMI). It wasn't much, but it was clearly there. Today I have been able to squeeze my breast and get some clear discharge (very, very little) with a bloody tinge. Everything online says that bloody discharge is not normal and is cause for concern, so I called my OB and they want me to go back and get an ultrasound in that area again.
I am glad they are checking up on it because I would much rather have the peace of mind that comes with knowing everything is fine, and I also know logically the odds are very high that everything is fine. But it is still really scary knowing there is even the slightest possibility that something could be wrong. I've mentioned this in other posts but I lost my dad a year and a half ago to cancer (not breast cancer) and since then I have developed a fairly irrational fear of cancer myself. My mom also battled breast cancer 10 years ago and needed a mastectomy and chemo. Obviously being pregnant isn't helping me stay calm and collected.
Anyway, I am not sure what the point of that post was, but I really appreciate having the space to share and be paranoid and anxious. So if nothing else thanks for reading.
@RainyDays86 I am so sorry you are going through this, especially right now. Cancer is incredibly scary and even more so for those who have lost loved ones. I'll be thinking about you and hoping this turns out to be nothing more than just pregnancy impacting it!
@RainyDays86 - I am so sorry you're going through something so stressful, especially now. It's great that you and your doctors are on top of this. Hopefully it turns out to be nothing serious.

@RainyDays86 what a scary time. I'm glad you're getting it checked out and that your doc is taking your concerns seriously. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts/prayers. I will add that one of the biggest things we learn about cancer in school is to be afraid of painLESS lumps because they are more often malignant than a painful one. So my hope is that you fall into this stereotype! Typically painful lumps are more irritation/inflammation/infection than anything else. I wonder if your fibrocystic tissue makes you more prone to things like clogged ducts, etc. would be early but since you're a STM (right?) things may be happening earlier this time around. I have to say this is an area I'm ignorant about.
@RainyDays86 I'm so sorry you are going through this and happy that it is being addressed by your doctor. Feel free to vent and please keep us updated. You are in my thoughts.

I had it with DS (he was Baby A) I'm sure it resolved because the Doctors stopped mentioning it, and until his heart rate dropped the OB was talking about doing a vaginal delivery. It did give me these really bad spotting issues (made worse by blood thinners) so keep spotting in mind.
