LMP EDD is Aug 9. Had first appt today. (Yes I know the u/s says July '99 lol). Not sure exact heart rate but he wanted over 120 and said it was perfect.
Baby measured 8 weeks 5 days (8 weeks 6 days since lmp). Heart rate was 179 and baby was 20.8 mm long. Baby was moving everywhere and kicking like crazy except for when my husband was watching it. Still dealing with spotting but finally found the cause today it's still implantation bleeding.
These are all getting me so excited for my first ultrasound tomorrow! I do have a question though...I was told they might do a transvaginal ultrasound since I'm not that far along. Are those really painful? Someone was nice enough to put that thought in my head
@babyoakes yay for you hun, hope tom is awesome. I go Thursday for my first so i know uts exciting. I dont experience pain, i mean its a lil uncomfortable when they search to check ovaries. I only experienced any discomfort because she said I had gas lol so she had to look a lil more haha. But other than that no issues.
It's crazy how quickly these little beans grow!! Our first ultrasound was at 5 weeks 6 days and today was 8+5 and it looked completely different! Could see little nub arms and legs and it was bouncing around like crazy. Congrats to everyone! Keep the pics coming!
@babyoakes Totally agree with everyone else, it's not painful at all. A little awkward, but you're so busy staring at the US monitor that you won't even notice
Congrats! I love the stickers! I heard an old wives tale that says uf heartbeat is above 140 it means youre having a boy. iam expecting my first not sure if it true. Ha. My firsta appointment is jan 9. I will be 7 weeks and 1 day
Here's our LO and the yolk sack. My 6yr old niece said he looks like a snowman. EDD Aug 10th, HR 176. Measuring perfectly with my LMP. My DH ooh and aah during the us, he was surprised how clearly we could see baby!
@babyoakes you shouldn't feel any discomfort. I recommend that you go to the bathroom immediately before the scan though. That has always helped me be most comfortable. But, with fertility treatments I've had pleeeenty transvaginal ultrasounds so maybe I'm just used to it
Had my 1st ultrasound yesterday, measuring right on track at 8 weeks 4 days, due date is August 11th. Heart rate was 171. Our 18 month old son was with us and was very excited to see the baby
I'm loving all the ultrasounds! Can't believe my first one isn't until the 31st!
If it's transvaginal I know I'm going to make some lame joke about wanting drinks first. I make bad jokes when I'm nervous.
It probably won't be. They will probably give you a normal abdominal U/S. they do the transvag more for early ultrasounds. But by 10-12 weeks it shouldnt be needed. DS was at 11 weeks and you could see everything just fine without getting up in there so I'm hoping this one will be the same. My first U/S is the 30th. Good luck!
This is my ultrasound from last Friday. My EDD based on LMP is August 5th. The dr said last week though that I'm measuring ahead and the EDD could be July 30th. I'm not really sure which one to go by, but the dr said if my cycle was regular before I got pregnant that we could stick with August 5th. Either way, this was my first ultrasound and I was amazed at how clearly we could see our little babe at just 8-9 weeks! It looks like a little gummy bear
Thanks ladies! I ended up not having the transvaginal ultrasound after all. The doc just did a regular ultrasound Baby O. is growing and his or her heart is beating away at 169 bpm! I'm not as far along as I thought so my new due date is 8/13. It was so exciting to see our baby!
@babyoakes glad you got to see lil baby and things are good. Didnt know if you meant to but your name is showing on ur us. Hopefully tom i get an abdominal lol
Well, based on LMP and normal 29 day cycles, ovulation was a day later so my due date would be 8/25. She took about 3-4 measurements and came up with either a due date of 8/24 or 8/25 and we collectively decided on the earlier. So I have like 3 pictures and depending which you look at they have a different date
I had a good amount of brown spotting this morning, when I called the midwife she seemed concerned and had me come in for a blood test to get my blood type, hcg levels, and an u/s. Good news is that the tech couldn't see the source of the bleed and I'm measuring slightly ahead at 6w5d, even better is the baby has a heartbeat of 130!!! I know that anything can happen, but I'm feeling relief even knowing that things are developing as they should, even if it's just for right now.
I also only made one stupid joke before getting wanded, so I mean, that's like me making no stupid jokes.
Got in a week early due to bleeding. Doc couldn't find a reason and wasn't concerned since she saw (but didn't measure) a heartbeat, but baby measured 6 weeks instead of what I thought should be 7w3d based on when I think I ovulated due to BBT and OPK. I did have a TON of positive OPKs this cycle and so I may be off about O date by up to 3 days when combined with BBT. So if I implanted late then it could be possible. Without adjusting anything, that would mean I got pregnant after my positive HPT and we all know that's impossible. Otherwise she is wrong and we will see when I go back, if this bleeding turns out to be nothing. Fingers crossed for this little jelly bean. I am waiting to see a high risk OB and will hopefully hear soon since some of my bloodwork with the hematologist was abnormal. She took 5 pics and only gave me one where you see the yolk sac and not the baby. I should have asked for a better one, but she needed to send some stuff to the HR doc.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
I had my first appointment a couple weeks ago at 7 weeks 6 days, and measured just a couple days behind. Heartbeat was 160. They didn't tell me if they were doing transvaginal or abdominal beforehand, so I chugged a bunch of water before my appointment...they ended up doing transvaginal, so my very full bladder made it into the picture.
@NYTino24 Glad you got to go in earlier. I read your update in the TTGP thread..I'm sorry you're going through this right now. Tell that hubby to back off and let you lay in bed watching tv if that's what you need to do! Will be thinking of you- fingers crossed for that next appointment.
Thanks for thinking of me @Lyndshurt! @secicc12 He has backed off now that I'm feeling somewhat better. I just think he wanted to fix everything and felt helpless, so he came off a little too controlling since he can't change the circumstances.

Had our first u/s yesterday. According to my LMP I should have been 10 weeks 2 days but baby was measuring 8 weeks 4 days. Sucks because I have more of the first trimester left than I thought = more morning sickness. Yay...not. But baby was moving and had a perfect heart rate of 178! Hoping for baby girl #2

Brown spotting is usually old blood. In your 6th week that can be old implantation blood coming out.

I didn't find them painful, just awkward.
I have a transvaginal ultrasound tomorrow also. My first one.

Yes I was surprised too. The machine they were using does it all I guess. It was super neat.
