Has anyone ever been prescribed anything stronger than Tylenol (like a painkiller, etc) while pregnant? My back is in so much pain, and after 2 sessions of PT, it's not feeling better yet. I'm going to call my OB today to see if they'll prescribe anything. Just wondering what others have taken.
I also wanted to chime in on this, my OB referred me to a chiropractor (which didn't help me at all, wouldn't recommend 0/10) so they might give you something better if they believe the benefits of putting you on a stronger drug would outweigh the risks. I get severe migraines with this pregnancy that wouldn't even be touched by tylenol so after complaining incessantly three appointments in a row, they finally prescribed me Fioricet (acetaminophen, butalbital, caffeine, and codeine) and although it does contain acetaminophen, the cocktail of other medicines in it, that you wouldn't think would be prescribed to a pregnant woman, were what truly helped me. Maybe they'll be able give you a mixture with acetaminophen that'll help ease that back pain you've been having.
That's what I'm hoping for! I take Fioricet for my headaches (not since being pregnant though) that are similarly as debilitating as a migraine. That drug is a godsend!

@LivingLaVidaGinger I've also been concerned about fluid, but I do remember my OB telling me that amniotic fluid smells sweet so anything else is most likely discharge.
But what if you ate a bunch of pineapple? Or is that only for semen?
I thought pineapple was also for the ladies. Pineapple flavored semen sounds disgusting paired with the already present asparagus/bleach

DH has been a huge help. He made dinner and everything tonight while I took it easy. I still have had to get up for various reasons though and I feel them!!
Geez ladies, keep it together. If bedrest isn't prescribed or possible, I can give you my plan for modified couch rest. Lay down on your left side with feet elevated as much as possible. Drink tons of water. If you need to do stairs at home, plan your trips to limit how many times you go up and down.

Adding in my +1s for puffy lady parts, trouble rolling over and getting out of bed. I am having some full belly cramps that are annoying, but they are worse when I have to pee.
Peeing thing. . . I had forgotten the sit down, go to the bathroom, stand up and have to pee again stage but I am there. Pro tip, lean forward and it helps empty the last of it before you stand up.

Sweet Jesus. I guess there is an upside to c sections. I was cleared at 4 weeks and sex was totally normal other than my abdominal pain.
Wow I wish this was the case for me considering I have only had csections. I remember being cleared around 6 weeks, but it felt exactly like others are describing for quite a while. It also felt really loose... which I thought was fucked up since I didn't actually push anything out of there lol
I didn't have painful sex when cleared at 6 weeks but only had superficial tears, so maybe that's part of it. I was crazy emotional about sex and cried like a baby afterward, though. I felt so vulnerable. My husband is sweet and gentle, but I felt weirdly violated. It was so strange.

+1 for crazy cramping. I'm sure mine are just from being on my feet too much, so not scary like some of you ladies. But I didn't not have contractions this intense, frequent, or early with my first pregnancy and they're not fun.
Is anybody else having chest pains? I am 99.9% sure it's not heartburn. I didn't even eat anything but an egg and cheese sandwich.
Did you try taking a couple Tums just to be sure? I feel like anything can cause heartburn this far into pregnancy.
That's kind of what I was thinking. Or chug some milk. Mine feels like that when it's really bad!

@FreshBakedBrownies I'll try that. I don't usually take tums (i take a high dose of lansoprazole) I don't have them at home so I'll ask H to pick some up.
@AfKash i hope its nothing serious and just annoying heartburn! I'd probably call your doctor (if they have a weekend nurse line) or go to urgent care if it continues or if you have other symptoms (feeling faint? looking pale?)
I've been feeling nauseous and have had sore boobs all weekend...I thought first tri was over a long time ago?! Hoping this sickness goes away ASAP, I've been looking forward to some good food for Thanksgiving!
Yep, the general disgust/aversion to all food returned for me this week. Hope this is short lived...but at this point, any regrets I had for over indulging in second tri have disappeared.
