Re: Symptoms Thread 11/14/16

  • My blood pressure has been really high (not constantly) for the past few weeks. I typically have very low blood pressure so the extreme change has made life-ing really hard.
  • @krob - I totally get that way too, especially lately. I just told DH last night before getting in bed that I am starting to feel REALLY pregnant

  • For those of you with issues getting in and out of bed, do you just feel like a house or does it physically hurt you? I am getting a sharp sharp pain in my pubic bone area every time I try to roll over or get out of it. It's bought me to tears a few times, and other times I've had to ask DH to help me move. I'm not sure if this is normal pregnancy pain, or a condition Dr. Google discussed. Trying to calibrate my pain with others before calling my OB.
  • @Patience7150 a little bit of both. It's hard to roll over but I sometimes get pains in my hips and pubic area and occasionally I feel like I have a pulled muscle but in my stomach.
  • @Patience7150 - the other night I got up to pee and got a sharp sharp pain in the hip area, really sharp....and it eventually went away but I blamed moving too quickly...in the past my Ob told me sharp pains in my hips are RLP so I didn't think it was anything wrong per say...
  • @Patience7150 I've had sharp pains occasionally but not all the time.
  • @Patience7150 i dont generally get pains its more just awkward trying to get in a position to get myself sitting up to get out of bed. A hoist would be a handy thing to have at this stage.

I have sharp pains and I have a funny feeling it's SPD. I know some of it is just moving too quickly or the wrong way. but I also find it hard at times to walk up the stairs and get  in and out of my car.

I'm going to discuss it next week with my ob

  • I get sharp pains that are usually gas related. It just builds up all night until I get out of bed and move around (I'm a super weirdo that doesn't wake up to pee). I also sometimes get sharp pelvic pains that I've sometimes suspected are SPD @mrsgabus, but I seem to be able to manage them by regulating my position and activity level so I haven't pursued an actual diagnosis.
  • Okay, thank you everyone. Based on the comments, it seems my pains are not normal discomfort and moreso SPD. I feel like someone is driving a nail up my urethra when I try to move around in bed/get out of bed. I head to the doc next week for a regular check up and will ask her then.
  • I haven't quite gotten to the turtle on her back phase yet but the aches at night are increasing and the sciatica is rearing it's ugly head again.  Squatting for too long (down to my kid's level) is becoming increasingly uncomfortable as well.

@Patience7150 I would talk to your doctor if it's hurting bad enough to bring you to tears. I've felt lots of different pains that appear to be normal so far but nothing close to bringing me to tears.

+1 for having trouble getting in and out of bed. Sometimes it is a bit painful but mostly it's just awkward. When it's painful I think it's because my bladder is too full. I am constantly waking up and having to shift positions but I still somehow seem to manage to miss the point where my bladder is full but not painfully so!

My sciatica is back today and it's so bad, I think it's because I spent 6 hours in the car on Saturday and then 3 hrs sitting still at my desk Sunday playing D&D online. I'm trying to sit with better posture today and to get up every so often to at least walk around the office but it's hard.

Is it just me or is anyone else WAAAAAYYYYYY more uncomfortable at night?

I go through my days feeling slightly uncomfortable and moderately pregnant but by the time i need to go to sleep I feel like a house, everything hurts, im anxious and restless
YES. By the end of the day, I can't even sit comfortably on my beloved cushy sofa...I'm fidgeting and readjusting every 2 minutes. If I watch to chill and watch TV with H, the only way I can really get comfortable is to lay on my left side surrounded by cushions and blankets. This is just the beginning, isn't it?!

  • I started getting nosebleeds in the morning a few days ago...is that normal? It's super weird for me.

In regards to pain, I don't really get any pelvic pain, but I do get pain/soreness like an inch or two under my right boob pretty frequently...not sure what that's about. It mostly happens when I'm siting.

  • @krob I get so uncomfortable I have to go to bed because even laying on the couch feels too constricting.
  • @scifichick09 I have gotten nosebleeds with all of my pregnancies. They had stopped for awhile with this one but with my seasonal allergies and heat running at work and other places I have started getting them again.
  • @scifichick09 yes nosebleeds are a common pregnancy symptom. I've been getting them daily lately, sometimes I get a couple in a day... I think I read that it's because of all the extra blood we are producing, similar to why it's common for pregnant women to have sensitive gums that bleed more than normal.

  • Yes, sadly, this is just the beginning. By the last month most of us will just be sitting up crying in pain all night. Hate to be debbie downer!!

I also have trouble getting out of bed. One direction I have to climb over DH, and in the other I have to climb over two dogs. It's a process no matter which way I choose lol

  • @Patience7150 I get sharp pain when I move too quickly, not near my urethra but between the crease of my thighs and my vagina (sorry for the super attractive visual). I asked the doctor about it and she said it's likely a compressed nerve but nothing to worry about. It isn't severe enough to bring me to tears, but it does hurt intensely for several seconds.
  • I just have a general achiness from my rib cage to my knees.  I want to cry it's so painful and I feel like someone has crushed my body into a corset cause it's hard to breathe.

  • Me too MrsDramaK. The rib pain is unreal (but not surprising because I had it bad last time and for a second thought I may have avoided it this time). So painful. I thought it was maybe my bra, but it still hurts when I'm not wearing one!

YES 100% of this.  By the end of the night, my belly hurrrrrrrts from feeling like it's stretching all day long.

Also another +1 to pain when the bladder is too full.  Like I literally can't stand up straight.
  • @MrsDramaK you nailed it with the feeling like you're crushed into a corset! Now if only it resulted in an hourglass figure  ;)

  • +1 for puffed parts
  • My lady bits are all puffy and I have an ingrown I can feel but not see. #vagwatch2016
This is also me right now. And it's scary that it's only going to get worse when I can't see any of it
  • Me too - including varicose veins right up in there. Looks terrible (according to the mirror, since of course I can't see it looking down).
  • Had anyone found good stretches or solutions for sore backs? Mine has been killing me this week

The Bradley Method stretches have been working well for me! Especially pelvic rocking.

  • I really wish I could use #vagwatch in my daily life more :)  I wish I could offer some advice for help, but I pretty much just bitch and don't do anything to actually solve any pain!
  • Thanks @Gretchypoo! Trying this tonight before bed
  • @Patience7150 I think I have symphaseal pubis dysfunction. Friday night it got so bad I was in tears. It feels like I've been riding a horse too long and then someone kicked me between the legs.
(Unfortunately the sucky mfm I saw last week thinks I'm imagining it. She told me my anxiety was making me over exaggerate normal pregnancy pains. Um, no.)
I've since talked to another mfm about it and will be getting a recheck either this week or next at my regular appointment. So far I've been sitting as much as possible, avoiding crossing my legs, keeping a pillow between my legs when laying down and googling YouTube videos for exercises for SPD that promote my floppy pelvis being aligned. :(

@FreshBakedBrownies my sister had SPD and I remember going to physical therapy with her.  The therapist basically crouched down on his knees, wrapped his arms around my sisters hips and squeezed real tight a few times.  He told her to have her husband do that a few times a day and that really helped relieve her pain.  So you might want to try that while you're waiting to see the doctor.  I don't see how it could hurt.
