Waiting for AF after MC

Hi all. Kinda late to this thread but really hoping to find some support and people in the same situation as me. A little background. I had an MC with my first pregnancy at 40. We TTCd for a year unsuccessfully. Went to a fertility specialist and got pregnant with our first iui. I had my beautiful DD Oct 2015. 

I breastfed and got AF again in August. SO and I hardly ever DTD since her. But on my DDs first birthday I found out I was pregnant again. I was scared and surprised but quickly warmed up to the idea. I let myself get excited. But at 6 weeks I no longer felt symptoms and had cramping and confirmed through an US that I did not have a viable pregnancy. I started miscarrying last night. My SO said he wants to try again but I remember how TTC consumed me and I don't want to deal with all that heartache again. 

Im already waiting to stop miscarrying so I can get AF and move on. Thanks for letting me share.

@Knottie07781167 I am very sorry for your loss. Welcome to the board. Share and vent away. You will find a lot of support here. Some people have a hard time reading about living children because many of us on this board are not lucky enough to have that yet, so if you could add a TW before, that would help some people that aren't comfortable reading about it.

@justsuzie Fx that you got great news from your levels.  I started temping as soon as the mc started. The temps are off the wall wacky. However, according to FF I ovulated on 11/9.  The cross hairs were dotted but I'll take it.  

So... Since FF thinks it detected O, I'm starting to get BSC.  I kill myself sometimes  I know I'm really waiting for AF but I'm asking myself if I could be so lucky to be in TWW?  Who knows.  Next beta draw is Wednesday to see if I'm down to 0.

@SP128  Mid 400s for my last Wednesday draw.  I only found out the results today because of the holiday on Friday.  So, the long haul to the finish line.  I'm hoping I can be at 0 before December.  It's already like 9 weeks!

Good luck to you for Wednesday.  And a wait is a wait, and is always sucky!  so hopefully this wait is for a TWW for you.  Keep us posted.

I am 3 weeks post D&C. Had early loss and D&C same day 10/26. Soo I am currently still waiting on my AF to arrive. However me and DH have been BDing since 3 days after spotting stopped which we started 11/3 every other day. So wouldn't know if I would end up in the two week wait but I doubt I have O'ed but who knows.

@justsuzie That's great. Your numbers are declining nicely. Based on trend over the last two weeks, it seems like you will be at 0 by December. FX for you.

I'm still currently experiencing the loss. I know how hard it is to see babies and pregnant women. I'm almost 43 and not sure if I should try naturally or for fertility treatment. I'm so impatient!!!

Levels fr yesterday at 0. Now waiting for af. SO much waiting. WAIting for this waiting for that.

Hey Ladies,
I'm still waiting on AF after D&C for MMC on 10/20. On Tuesday (11/15), my HCG was still at 24.8 (was at over 15,000 before D&C). Does anyone know how long it should take to come down from 24.8? Still a faint positive (squinter) on a strip HPT yesterday. Don't want to pay $25 for bloodwork again until I'm reasonably sure it's 5 or below. 

Also, @endo_mom, did you ovulate during your cycle after D&C? I have been temping and using OPKs and still no O on CD31.

@mrsegan13  I took miso on 10/21 and I am still waiting for AF.... 
I have no idea how long it takes for hcg to go down, unfortunately I have asked the nurses and their go to answer is "everyone is different"

@mrsegan13 I was temping that cycle and I don't think I ovulated that cycle. Negative HPTs at the 3 weeks mark. Had D&C on 9/28 and AF arrives 10/29.

@mrsegan13  I started temping the day after I took miso.  According to FF, I think I ovulated last Wednesday.  It was dotted cross hairs though.  May have been due to me taking a temp way earlier one day.   Are you temping?

@justsuzie  We are not waiting.  Dr recommended wait one cycle after levels down to 0.  Others at the practice said that there is not reason to wait, it is recommended because "its the way we were taught."  No evidence of adverse effects of not waiting.  

AF may be on her way, the BSC in me is like maybe it's implantation bleeding.  I can make things stretch!!

Hope you join me soon.  I'm crossing everything for your levels to just hurry on up down.

Yes...I hope I can join soon too.  I have to wait 2 cycles after 0 to build my folic acid back up.  Happy you are back in the ttc game though! FX for implantation bleeding. And, if not, at least you have waited that one cycle just to ease your mind a bit.

@SP128, I'm in the same situation (except I had a D&C). I am temping. Here is a link to my chart. Others that have had D&C, feel free to tell me what you think. HCG was still at 24.8 on Tuesday. All my OPKs are negative so far. I am trying hard to be patient, but I'm a little freaked out seeing such a long cycle and hoping my body can get back to normal.

@mrsegan13 There's no way to tell for sure if a cycle is going to be annovulatory ahead of time or not, but from your charts Id guess you're in for a long cycle with late O. Your temps have stabilized in the last week, and they are all pretty low (around your pre-O temps from last cycle). I'd say keep charting, tracking CM and using OPKs, because you might O this cycle.

@justsuzie  That's a negative on implantation bleeding.  I did get AF though.  When is your next level check?

@SP128 Sorry for AF but at least you will really know your dates when u get pg.  I am not blood testing until I get back from Florida after Thanksgiving.  Hope I will be at 0. FX

@RiverSong15, thanks for looking at my chart. I finally had a positive OPK yesterday, so I should ovulate tomorrow if it's like last time (last time had positive OPK 2 days before O). Also, my breasts are tender yesterday and today, which happened last time as well. So ready to be in TWW!

Hello. Well you Ladies, I am still waiting on AF to get here. It has been 4 weeks since my MC(D&C) . I had my appointment on Wednesday and my doctor said I should have gotten my period by now but if it don't come in the next week or two to take a HPT and see what the results are or schedule another appointment to come in. So I am patiently waiting on either AF to show or a BFP but we shall see what happens.

I've patiently been waiting for AF.  I stopped going to get blood draws.  2 weeks ago I was at 197. I should be close to 0 by now (10 weeks, almost 11 since methotrexate).  I go on Wednesday to get check again.

Any other ectopics out there that took metho....how long after 0 did you get AF???

@keaton732, I'm surprised your doctor was surprised that you hadn't had a period yet. My doctor said D&C cycles can be much longer (because you won't ovulate until HCG is quite low and that can take time). I Oed either 4weeks and 5 days or 5 weeks exactly after my D&C. My HCG was still at 24.8 3 weeks and 5 days after my D&C. I hope this helps!

Awww okay thanks @mrsegan13 . Well maybe I have just recently ovulated then but tuesday will make 6 weeks post D&C for me. So we shall see when it shows up. I don't track ovulation so I don't know when to expect my AF to come but I will give it a few more weeks.

@keaton732, yeah, give it a few more weeks. At 5weeks 5 days after D&C, my HCG was still a 5.8. My doctor said call if you don't have a period in 4 weeks. Well, I know I ovulated already, so I should be expecting my period in just a few days (likely looking at a 7 week or close to it cycle post D&C).

@keaton732  My doc said to expect my period in approximately 4-6 weeks.  Of course there is the "everyone is different" disclaimer.  So annoying to hear when all you want are answers.  GL.

HCG down to 86 on Friday morning...but still very faint positive HPT today. Uuuuuggggghhhhhhh...this is taking forever. 3 weeks 5 days post D&C........I just want the chance to move on.

I know that's right @SP128 . Thanks. Hopefully we all get answers soon. Today makes the 6 week mark for me so we shall see if AF shows up this week or not

@BeagleMom34 The wait is the worst.  I am on week 12 right now with no end in sight.  My HCG is somewhere under 25 but no AF yet.  I am getting PMS symptoms which is hopeful.

Over here in the same, non-so-patient, boat ladies. I have been putting all of my time into this fancy-shmancy holiday cocktail party that I am throwing tomorrow for 15 close friends J decorations, cocktails, food, etc. it has been a great distraction. Also working a lot and perusing petfind and the bumping I definitely don’t feel like my pre-pregnant self and don’t think I ever will again.  I had 2 losses (both in the last 6 months) and they definitely changed me for good.

 As far as trying again, after my first loss, we waited 1 cycle as directed (and got pregnant again that cycle). This cycle, my RE indicated that as soon as my HCG is back to 0, we can go ahead and try again. Got more bloodwork yesterday so FX’d those numbers come down fast!

@carterh33 we are doing the same thing!  I occupy my time on petfinder tearful over all the pups that need homes haha.

So weird, pms symptoms for over a week with no AF?  I usually get cramps 2-3 day before and it's getting close to 10.  I am hoping things are just funky for this cycle because this is brutal.

Hey ladies....I have been lurking since my mc on Nov 6th at 8.5 weeks....went to doc this week and all levels were back to "NORMAL"and received a negative pregnancy test.   Have been waiting and today AF started. I was so happy I actually started to cry...now excited to start trying again
