@justsuzie I'm so sorry for all the conflicting information. This is still the ER Doctor and nurses, right? At this point, I think it might be worth it to find an OB you like and follow up with them. You'll need one once you get pregnant again anyway, and that way they'll know your history. They may want to monitor you more closely next pregnancy because of your history of ectopic anyway, and it could be a good thing to be an established patient. In any case, I'm so sorry for the frustration and waiting.

@justsuzie I had a blighted ovum (empty sac) and D&C on 09/28. I hate when doctors/nurses contradict each other... I resumed exercising 1 week post D&C when I felt ok. Limbo is soo hard. Same as you...28 days no matter what.  I don't remember ever being late, so I'm frustrated.

My Dr. said last week during the appointment: "If you dont have your period in 2 months..call me". Ugh...TWO MONTHS!!!!!! :(  I have felt AF symptoms for the last 6 days and nothing... the waiting continues. I hope your levels continue to drop fast.

@endo_mom @flipflopped, and @RiverSong15 Thanks for the support.  I guess I will call the DR I originally wanted to go to before the ectopic on Monday.  I never made it to my first US because I wound up in the ER with cramps and bleeding.  I hope she will see me even though they called her when I was in the ER for her recommendation, but because she hadn't seen me she released me into their awful care.  :(  I'm hanging in there.  Still don't know if I can run or not?!

@justsuzie - I feel your pain! I'm 12 weeks post MMC and my levels are still high enough to make HPTs read positive. It seems like I'm ovulating, though I haven't yet seen AF. I'm past the frustration and on to the point that I almost find it comical, like my body is just playing a cruel joke on me.

@weareturtles Can't even imagine 12 weeks.   But, that seems to be the road I will be going down unfortunately.  I have had to come down from 25000!  Here are my approximate stats:

    9/23: 16000
    9/27: 2500
    2 weeks 1400
    3 weeks1100
    4 weeks 5100
    5 weeks: 2500

So I have almost been coming down 50% from the week prior which makes me think another 6-7 weeks.  Don't know how I am going to make it.  I am going to ask for a prescription for folic acid.  I have ALL the symptoms of a folate deficiency and anemia. Long road.

@justsuzie I agree with @RiverSong15 Finding a OB you like might help, it will help him or her get familiar with your history. I know how hard the wait is, but holiday season is coming up and hopefully that will help as a distraction.  FX for consistent dropping numbers.

@justsuzie - Yeah, I was carrying identical twins (originally triplets), so my levels were crazy high too. I was over 17,000 when we lost the single, which was 3-4 weeks before we lost the twins, so I cannot imagine what they were at the time of the loss, but assuming normal doubling time - really really high! Doctors told me to expect 6 weeks to be back to normal. Then at 6 weeks I had a D&C (HCG was still over 1600) and they told me it would be back to normal within 6 weeks. Well...that time has passed and my levels are still in the 20s. So I'm waiting on AF or for my levels to start going up again.

@weareturtles  Did your dr say anything about how low hcg will be before you can expect AF?  Does it have to be below 0?
  • Options
@justsuzie - My doctors didn't specify, but they did state that the fact that it was still elevated was the reason AF hasn't shown up yet. I have a hard time believing that because, from what I've read, other people have seen AF when their HCG levels were not yet back to normal (below 5).

@weareturtles my doctor said that anything below 5 is considered not pregnant for clinical purpose so you can get your AF at that level.

@Justsuzie after my d&c I had af twice while my numbers were still elevated, want to say one was in the 100s and the other was around 40 or 50. This was also because I had retained tissue and needed another d&c. But everyone is different. Fx everything works out for you.

CD1 for me here too (well just today/last night).  I had a 30-day cycle after natural mc (mine range from 27-30 days - at least since I've been tracking them this year, so I consider it normal).

I'm so sorry some of you ladies are still in limbo - hopefully AF shows soon!  My doctor's office also told me to call them if I hadn't bled in 12 weeks - sort of ridiculous.  It definitely sucks feeling so helpless and frustrated and I hope it's not too much longer.

@endo-mom @justsuzie  Hcg down from 143 on Thursday to 39.6 on Monday.

@justsuzie I also did not have HCG checked. I used the misoprostol at 6pm Monday and had a u/s at 11:30 on Tuesday. It was mostly clear. My doctor didn't did another and said I did not need blood work to check HCG. I decided to do an CBAD on day 10 and it was a solid smiley. AF came about two weeks later. I did take a HPT around Oct 8 and it was a BFN, so I am guessing my HCG dropped fast. I know my HCG dropped fast my first two losses, as well.
Three days for results? That is crazy long. I had blood work at 4pm and my doctor called me with the results at 6:30pm the same day.

@SP128 Great drop. FX the next one is zero.

@justsuzie I've also never had any betas done ever (much less being tracked down to zero).  But I was "lucky" miscarrying naturally and completely and had only a very faint (like thought it might be evap line - wishful thinking the other way?) HPT 9 days AL, and a stark white one a week later (didn't check in between). I'm so sorry for your frustration, but I hope your appointment went well and things are headed (more quickly) in the right direction.

Had 2 MCs - d and c with the first and second one happened naturally. Both took about 4 1/2 weeks to have AF come after. Sounds so silly but I tell myself that, one day when I look at my baby I'll know that opportunity was worth waiting for. Helps me pass the time when I'm anxious- telling myself what I'm meant for is one day closer every day that passes.

@eahayes very sorry for your losses. I agree with you. Having gone through a loss makes you appreciate more when the time finally comes and helps you not take anything for granted.

Congratulations @MimoCa hopefully a lot of us will be joining you.

I am currently waiting on my AF ladies. Experienced my loss on 10/26. My doctor set my follow up appointment for 11/23 so don't know if AF will show her face before then or after but we shall see what happens

Did any of you get a lot of CM when your HCGs were still in the 300-400 range? I'm assuming that's where mine are (blood test tomorrow).  I usually get this CM mid cycle. THoughts?

@justsuzie I am not tracking hcg down this time like I did last time, but I am trying to really focus on my cm this time. Is it sticky cm you're having? I am taking that as a sign my body is returning to normal :) I hope the same for you!

ETA: Im talking about non fertile cm, not ewcm, but after a loss the body can do crazy things unfortunately..

@Uhlease13 My cm is really gooey.  It's always like this during ovulation.  I'm 8 weeks post methotrexate.  The office was closed for veterans day so I never got my hcg count.  By the time they call me Monday I'll be blood testing 2 days later. I actually started temping last week because I figure any extra info will be useful once AF gets here. Hopefully sometime soon!

This wait is killing me, and my DH is afraid to touch me because the dr scared the shit out of us about having unprotected sex before January.  Condoms havn't been our friends lately. Ugh

@justsuzie I hope your next blood results are what you are expecting. I had a lot of CM a couple of weeks before AF showed up after D&C. Hopefully it means your body is getting back on track.
