  • @mjacks16, I'm so sorry for the negative. Even though it's what you were expecting, it still doesn't make it easy to hear the news. Hopefully you have a productive talk with your RE next week.
  • @mjacks16 I'm sorry about your test results.  I hope you get a comfortable plan in place with your doctor next week
  • mjacks16 said:
Yep, it was confirmed - negative.  :(  Scheduled a phone consult with my RE for next week to discuss steps as we are out of frozen embabies. I'd image we take a few months off and work on my egg quality before the next round. My highest quality was only rated BB, so I'm thinking that is part of the problem. After my mc last time, my RE suggested I don't even do PGS testing if we had to do another round.

Hoping some better news will come to this thread soon!!
I'm so sorry! I don't know why the dr would recommend NOT doing pgs. At least you'll know the embryo is good or not and not waste your time, money and a cycle putting in a bad embryo. Whatever you decide we will all be here cheering you on. Hope you are ok. Sending hugs.

  • BFN.  As much as I was prepared to hear that news, it's still heart crushing.

My doctor said she's not sure why it didn't take, bc I was completely set up for express.  She said that next month we will do a trial cycle. So instead of an actual transfer on transfer day, they will instead do a biopsy of my uterine lining. She said it's a test to look for genes that are expressed by the uterus when an embryo should implant.  Has anyone had this done?

  • @apm_slp I'm so sorry it was negative! I have heard of that test, someone on here a few weeks ago had a thread about that actually. I've researched on it and it seems really interesting and helpful. I think it basically looks for what day your uterus is most receptive Bc not everyone is day 5 which is usually done during FETs, some ppl need an extra or less day of progesterone for ideal conditions.
  • @mtpbadger Now that you mention it I do remember that thread and I find it so interesting!

    thanks everyone.

They said they are doing the biopsy to make sure I am expressing the genes that should be expressed by the uterus  when an embryo is implanting.  I remember that thread too, now that you mention it! I'll check it out.  My sister is a genetic counselor so I will definitely be talking to her.

They dont necessarily know or think  that my uterus is the problem, my RE just said that because everything looked so great, they want to do more testing before moving on with another cycle.

@APM_SLP  So sorry.  Wish that news was the exact opposite for you. Thanks for the tip on the next step.  I am going to talk to my RE to see what they can look at for me.  Meeting Monday with the RE.

  • @FatPony Oh my gosh, what wonderful news! Hope things continue along as they should and the wait for your ultrasound is not too brain racking.  :-)

@APM_SLP Sorry to hear your news as well. I know how hard it is when everything looks great.  Sounds like you have a plan to move on to learn more so hopefully the next one will be the one!

For people wondering why my RE might have us skip PGS next time is because I only ended up with 2 day 5 embryos to test last time and they somehow both came back normal. Seems my eggs tend to weed themselves out and it's a steep price to pay to test only 2. If I end up with 8 or something the next round it could be a different story.  After having one fail with a M/C and the other not implant - it feels like we just wasted the money on testing.

@bells52000 - 120 seems good, but remember that I test a full 14 days after a 5dt. Plus my embie was hatching when it was transferred, so I really thought I was out of the running. I had a 90 beta for my cp, so it wasn't too hard to imagine a bad result. So nerve-wracking.

Anyways, fingers crossed for the next round of betas.
  • @Worldtravler0522 I POAS last time and got + results super quick. I don’t have any tests at home and DH thinks I should just wait until beta day. So, we will see.
@wifeinraleigh28 It’s comforting to know there are other frosties waiting for you if this cycle doesn’t work out. When I had my major disappointment last go, the opportunity to try again was the only thing that brought hope. I think we all have it in us to keep trying. :) I hope so much this is your cycle though!

I am so sorry for negative results today. Hopefully your RE will get a new plan together for when you’re ready to start again. Hugs to you both.

@fatpony I am so excited to read your news! So, So happy for you. I hope these next couple weeks goes by quickly and your 6 wk us is perfect.

With my last FET I was so excited and kind of thought it was a guaranteed deal. This time around I know better and am honestly trying not to think about it all too much. I'm just one day in of the 10 day wait, so we will see how I feel in a few days, ha.

All those disappointments made the success so much more sweet! And I truly believe that for us all! Hugs to you guys!

    September FET Tracker

We're at 40% ladies. I hope that when all is said and done it is much higher. Again, huge congrats to @LSatturo126 and @FatPony! @LSatturo126 Your ultrasound is today, right? Thinking of you and sending positive vibes for good news!!!

@Tusername Absolutely, I do consider myself lucky to have so many frozen embryos. At the same time, however, we spent $20k for IVF which included the freeze all and our first FET along with it. Each subsequent FET is $3,500 (not including meds, probably closer to $4k with the meds). I know, much cheaper than doing a full round of IVF and for that I am grateful, but man does this stuff add up. I really can't see us being able to swing enough FETs to get through all of our embryos if they keep not working. So while it is comforting, I do still feel limited in the number of treatments I can do before we have to say enough is enough, ya know? Being completely OOP is so tough!

That being said, DH and I have decided that if we get a BFN on Monday, we will go right into our next FET and next time transfer 2 embryos. If money was no object, I would just transfer 1 again because I really don't want twins. But I guess I just feel like I need a little more of a guarantee with all the $$ we're having to shell out.

    @fmitchell Any updates?

  • Today marks the third negative day from POAS for me. I know there's still hope, even if it's negative all the way up to beta. But, each day I see one line I get a little more down.

I think I still prefer it this way, rather than not testing at all, so it's a gradual disappointment rather then a shock to the system.

Better start preparations for moving insurances and starting another stim cycle.

  • @LSatturo126 - I personally think you're fine updating us here. Every update - BFN or BFP basically is a trigger bc we all have so much riding on these transfers. So as long as you're respectful, your updates are fine by me (and I honestly can't see you coming on here to say something mean). Glad to hear your u/s results look good!

afm- my sewing machine died, I'm going back to work in a week and my Etsy shop is blowing up   Go figure.

Anyway, let's try to have a chill Friday and calm weekend (TWW ladies are like 'yeah right!'). @bells52000 - are we ever going to see the ocean?
  • @lsatturo126 so glad the u/s went well! I don't mind the updates either!

@fatpony I am going CRAZY! Monday can't get here soon enough (but if it's bad news, I'll prefer to stay in my little bubble and keep thinking that I'm pregnant)!

  • @LSatturo126 Are they able to tell that it was 1 or 2 embies that stuck? Based on your update it sounds like 1? Either way I am over the moon happy for you!!!

I agree with @mtpbadger. I'm going crazy! Monday can't get here soon enough (and I have NEVER uttered those words before...)!

@LSatturo126 I love your updates.  As for me, keep them coming.  I can not get upset of someone finding success.  It's what we all want and for sure if it isn't me, I want it to be someone else!  Great Beta #4  :)

@FatPony (TW) Last week we didn't get to the beach because a guy planted bombs near our boardwalk!  Crazy world we live in.  I just looked on my camera and the week before when we were seaglass hunting, I only took pics with my dog and daughter.  Trying to be sensitive to others...I will go this weekend and try to get some new ones of just the beach!

Update - Also want to add I think it is perfectly fine if people do get triggered by ultras, positive betas, etc. I don't want to sound like a big jerk.

Also will add that my boss (principal) bought pizza today.  And that pleases me!  Happy Friday!
