I'm awake, husband is off to work, kiddo is snoozing away still. Rainy weekend here, which I'll take for the cooler temps today (70s instead of 90s). Planned to take e to the indoor toddler gym/play space today but not as convinced since it can be a mad house when raining.. we will see. My parents are coming over tonight so husband and I can go to the movies... wee!!
Wait, are we singing Disney songs now? Because I can turn this thing into a musical so quick... Oooh hey! Brain lightening! Quick, Someone call Lin-manuel! I have a suddenly fantastic idea for a Broadway play about third trimester insomnia!
Last night my husband was sitting with my family and we were talking about what stuff we still needed to get done. He's like "Ok, but we've got enough clothes!" Oh. My. God. The baby clothes, as stupid as it sounds, have been such a struggle with him. He freaked out on me the first time I went to a baby store and came home with onesies. "We don't need so many!!" So I haven't bought any more. We currently probably have about 15 outfits from newborn to 9 months. I'm thinking I need to buy clothes still. I don't even have socks!! And only have like 2 sleepers in each size. I was like "No we don't!!! Babies can go through a few outfits a day! I need at least three or four days of clothes because I'm not doing laundry every day while you're deployed and I'm trying to just stay alive with my first newborn!!!" And he rolled his eyes. I can't wait, can't WAIT, to leave him all alone with the baby and see how he survives on one onesie and nothing else.
It's 6:50am and I'm laying awake in bed just waiting on DD to get up. Today is her birthday party and I stayed up last night after she went to bed blowing up balloons & decorating the house. Her bedroom & bed are currently covered in balloons of all types and I'm so excited for her to wake up and see them! Watch, today will be one of those rare days she sleeps peacefully in her own bed past 9
I was up from 3 to 5:30 this morning. Woke up to pee and got back to bed and had all the thoughts at once and couldn't turn them off. We're going to the children's museum today, and I'm now worried I'm going to be a party pooper the whole time.
FI didn't get home until 4am last night, and why would he just let me sleep? Of course he HAD to wake me up and try for sexy time. Are you kidding me dude.
I stopped in to say that last night I had a dream that Funfetti cake mix was on sale for $.32, and I ran over but there was only one box left. I jumped in front of another lady to claim it. Apparently I need Funfetti.
Enjoying my only half hour of down time of the weekend while Reese is at her swim class. Had planned to be able to enjoy it with a cup of coffee but I forgot my wallet. My life is hard.
@diagonalley I bet that's a great feeling for you! I'm happy for you
@megan324 I'd have been grumpy too. I need my sleep these days! My FI was commenting yesterday on how long it had been so we had sex before he went out as I feared he'd try something like that when he got home late.
It it raining out today so my plans (hanging at a colleagues cottage) got cancelled and I am irrationally happy! A quiet day to relax, nap, online shop baby stuff, organize the house! Bliss!!!
I wish they did birthing classes at the beginning of pregnancy like a "hey your pregnant here is what to do and here is how your partner can help" as well as the regular birthing class. Since we have started our 5 week birthing class DH has been more attentive to how I am feeling and actually gave me a back massage last night! He has also been more interactive with baby. I think he is learning a lot of what he didn't know how to deal with or what to do before!
I'm not sure if that is just me rambling or if it actually made sense. It's early and I'm tired still!
@AmMcc12 Yup! Exactly that. Once we started birthing class DH went into overdrive on getting everything ready for baby and making sure I was ok. It was like a light switch turning on at once.
I love you guys, I really do, and I don't mean to brag....but I kept until 8am today. 8AM. This hasn't happened since DD has existed. I got up twice to pee, but went right back to sleep. I woke up at 5:49 and got out of bed because I thought I forgot to set my alarm and overslept for work. I sat down to pee and remembered it was Saturday, glorious Saturday and went back to sleep. This will be a good day.
Pregnant brain moment #492: pouring apple juice into a bowl of Cheerios instead of milk is both a waste of juice and of cereal... Only two more days of work...
Guys remember my internet woes? Well finally it worked and Bell was able to install in our area! So we went from getting 4 Mbps to 10!!! I know it's not great compared to the 120 people can get, but I'm happy. He also replaced the crappy wire so it should generally be more reliable now. I'd take slow and reliable over slower and unreliable any day.
@lovelylauren86 noooo don't say that, I was so excited! Haha. I guess there's not enough baking powder in them to make them fluff.
Anyone here that watched Making a Murderer? Brendan Dassey (the nephew) was just released and found not guilty after 16 years!!!! My heart broke for that kid during the documentary, I hope he gets the help he needs to adjust to normal life.
DH and I just found out that there's an in-hospital Starbucks around the corner from the conference hall where we took every single class at the hospital. To say we're feeling betrayed is an understatement!
@Shiva14 I just about jumped up and down when I found that out last night. That poor kid broke my heart and I can't believe his conviction was finally overturned after all this time! This makes me wonder what will happen with Steven Avery as well. And for goodness sakes, I hope someone buys Brendan a whole truckload of Wrestlemania DVDs to watch when he gets home.
My random: DH just left for the weekend for a "guys weekend" with his bro dudes at a lake cabin. He took the car so there's not a whole lot I can do unless I splurge for a Zipcar (which I might, just to go peruse Target..is that wrong?) But I'm kind of excited for a weekend of nothingness. It might be my last weekend of nothingness ever. Although I'll probably spend a good chunk of it touching up paint and what not, at least I'm choosing to spend my nothingness any way I please!
Well Sausage Party ended up being a pretty big disappointment. I was trying to pay attn to those who were laughing and it was pretty much giddy high school girls on an awkward date with their bfs. If I was to watch it at home, I def would've fallen asleep on the couch.
It was sooooo nice to get out with DH. We had amazing sushi and the theater was super AC with comfy seats (and plenty of popcorn and PB M&Ms). I think we decided we are going to see Bad Moms next weekend. I'd like to go mini golfing, but it's like a steamy shower outside, even at night
I'm so excited to have date night tonight since its been forever! My Dad and Stepmom gave us a gift certificate to a really nice steakhouse for Christmas and we've never used it. Our 10 year anniversary is 8/27 and I'll either be too huge to want to do anything or we will have a newborn so this seemed like the best time to use it. We are seeing Bad Moms after dinner. I'm so looking forward to eating a nice dinner without children!
@RedMar that stinks that Sausage Party wasn't great. I'm jealous of the sushi though! It doesn't work for my GD diet and it's on my list of foods to eat as soon as this baby is out!

Does this pic make my butt look big? Little girl doing her normal stretching out. More often then not her butt is sticking out to the left and very painful
@AmMcc12 I did that once. He pretty much controlled DD1 while I talked to people and learned. Though there were some dads there and I think that made home realize wearing wasn't just for moms...he now loves wearing DD1! But from now on he'll stay home with her and I'll bring little squish.
@MrsVoorhees yay for the sleep! I had a good night too but think I got too much so I'm still tired. Won't be able to sleep like this for awhile pretty soon
@RedMar that's disappointing to hear about SP. I really wanted that to be a funny movie. Most of the summer movies have been good so far but, come on people, it's crunch time. We got babies coming and it's gonna be that much harder to get out to a movie theater.
Happy early anniversary dinner @sarafuss! Steak dinner sounds delicious!
@PSUBecky23 I had put the k'tan on my registry but received the Ergo with newborn insert instead. I hope you don't mind me asking but do you think it's still worth it to buy the k'tan as well? My FI is only about 6 inches taller than me and quite slim. Do you think we could both wear it?

As much as I love the ergo, I wasn't a fan of it for the tiny baby stage. Just too much fabric. Not sure if the k'tan will work for both of you because it's sized. If you go on their website, you can insert both of your measurements to see what size you'd each use. A moby or solly wrap should work for both of you. Just more of a learning curve with them but still great carriers.
E is down for his nap, pray it's a long one. He woke at 8, but was whiny anyways. We had an awesome time at the indoor play place for 1.5 hours, came home, attempted lunch... apparently he doesn't feel like eating today, now it's nap time. I'm grouchy for no real reason and trying to perk up and clean the house. Date night tonighttttt.
Re: August Randoms!!!
( just thought I'd add to your gibberish)
@frogdog06 She is so sweet with all that hair. I'm glad you guys are home!
@diagonalley Great job, mama!

@drmh22 that made me laugh, obviously fingertips is super important!
I just found out you can put cinnamon roll dough in the waffle maker for easy cinnamon roll waffles. So that's about to happen today...
