So the thing that's tripping me up about the FB group (other than learning new names for everyone!) is do I post labor and birth stuff here or there? Or both? Just wait and see what others do before me?
I'm planning on posting on TB first, so that everyone can see it whether they join FB or not, but probably posting more pictures on FB as I go forward. Mostly because photos crash my Bump app, and I'll be definitely on mobile in the hospital!
@Jabreen is that a thing?? Because that's totally what it feels like, like I constantly have pee just sitting there in my urethra and it won't come out. I don't burn when I pee or anything. It's so uncomfortable though. I have found that it goes away after I poop, so maybe I'm able to release the pee when I push to poop?
Currently sitting in the McDonald's parking lot because the McFuckers won't give me nuggets until 11am. Excuse me, I am 8 months pregnant, hear me roar.
@MrsVoorhees Yep, unfortunately a thing. I've found that sometimes wiping with a wet bit of toilet paper helps to either dilute or clean it out, but not always. I had this happen sometimes pre-pregnancy, but it's way more common now. And yes, I think that pooping helps
@MrsVoorhees Definitely a thing! I didn't have issues with not being able to fully empty my bladder last pregnancy, but it's terrible now. It's like it just gets pinched off before it all comes out. I do sometimes get pain in my urethra, but between that and all the extra pressure and subsequent swelling, I've assumed it's not a UTI (since there are no other UTI symptoms).
Also, I get more pee out when I poop then when not. I think everything is so close and squished together that having full bowels can restrict your ability to pee. When I had a really bad constipation episode around 15 weeks, I was so backed up that literally could not get pee out, despite a very full bladder, until I finally pooped. Then I peed so much I couldn't believe my bladder held it all.
Yes please everyone still post labor and baby announcements here so those of us without Facebook can stay in the loop and offer congrats and love tits. Plus I want to see all the cutie babies!!!
I think I've had the pee troubles you all are talking about... But recently my issue is pooping. My body is on a poop-strike. Any suggestions (other than water - already drinking tons; no prunes)?! I feel like I've gained 10lbs in poop alone.

@Themaritimemama have you tried dried apricots? I tried it and had some luck, but if that doesn't work, try a stool softener. Colace worked for me to get things going.
@noelani42 Happy birthday! I hope it turns around for you!! Worst case scenario, you have us to vent to if the day just continues to derail itself...though I hope that's not the case!!!
@noelani42 happy birthday, lady! Share if you'd like, we're here for you! Either way, hope your day turns around.
@MrsVoorhees the peeing thing has been an issue for me since late in the first tri. They never found a UTI but eventually gave me a round of antibiotics because it didn't go away. The NP told me that the way the ute pinches the bladder, it won't allow all the pee to come out at once and some can stay up there and eventually irritate the urethra and can develop into a UTI. What worked for me (somewhat) is to hang out in the toilet an extra 30 seconds and the rest of the pee comes out eventually. I agree it could also be baby pushing it as mine does that too. She must love resting her head on my pillowy bladder
@noelani42 Hoping your day ends better than it began! Bonne anniveraire!!
I am doing an Amazon shop of post partum needs and must admit that this is the least fun shopping cart ever!! Tucks, granny panties, dermoplast...you get the picture
This FTM is feeling nervous for the L&D part that's coming soon!!
ETA: My FI just looked at my shopping cart, googled what Tucks were and deemed it the "least sexiest shop ever".
@JennM205 I'm just throwing a pity party because my husband is gone, so it's just me and the little prince. We are currently enjoying a lunch at Noodles and Company. It just feels a little lonely. It's a hectic time of year for a lot of my friends. We'll make the best of it!
I can understand that @pilotswifey! With LOs and busy schedules, it's so hard to really treat ourselves sometimes. Nevertheless, I hope you find a time to celebrate with your DH, even if it is a little after the fact!
I just got so frustrated trying to do our car seat. H is now doing it for me, thank goodness. The vehicle manual only gave instructions on using the seat belt for rear facing seats, but also said you can use the anchors. So it made it sound like you couldn't use the anchors for rear facing. But I set it up with the seatbelt and it was not secure AT ALL. H is doing it now with the anchors I think
@pilotswifey I am sorry you feel lonely! Maybe you can do a late celebration with friends when they are less busy? I do that all the time with my family because it's almost impossible to get together the actual day of the birthday, sometimes we celebrate a month later even!

My random for the day - this is bound to get lengthy but I think will be worth it if you can stick with it...
My sister just went back to work after her Maternity Leave. She is the manager, has two supervisors under her that each manage a different office, and several staff under them.) She had been back part time for a week or so when the team went out for a group lunch to celebrate an intern's end of summer or something like that. While out to lunch, one of my sister's two supervisors announced to the group that she was pregnant and due late Feb. My sister was ecstatic - she's one of those people who loves babies, good news, and showering people with congratulations in times like that. She gushed about how amazing this woman was going to be as a Mom, etc etc (to the girl and to me that weekend).
Then, a few days later, she got a call from the supervisor who works in the other office - she also announced she was pregnant! Immediately, my sister wondered if they were due around the same time as each other since they were announcing around the same time and, sure enough, they were due within weeks of each other. Again, my sister was amazingly happy for this woman and her family but also started to stress a little bit, knowing that both of her supervisors were going to be out on Maternity Leave at the same time this winter. She called her own boss to tell the news and reiterated that she was so happy for both women but was stressed because there was no way she would be able to cover both of their responsibilities as well as her own. Her boss let her vent and they left it at that.
A week passed and my sister kept asking each of the pregnant girls if they had spoken to one another. (She didn't want to spill their news but wanted them to find out that the other was pregnant because, well, how exciting!?) Finally, they Skype called my sister on Friday with big old smiles on their faces. My sister thought, finally, they've told each other! But nope! They both say, "Just kidding!" Neither of them are pregnant!!! They're just messing with my sister because they wanted to see her squirm a bit after leaving them in the lurch during her Maternity Leave! The ENTIRE OFFICE was in on it - everyone who went to lunch the day the first girl announced, even my sister's boss! I was talking to my sister on the phone, listening to this story in disbelief! Like, seriously? Who would do that? I don't find it funny at all. My sister, who has the biggest heart and can't speak ill of anyone ever just brushed it off like it was nothing. Apparently they "prank" each other a lot - like wrapping each others offices up in wrapping paper and stuff. Ok, fine, but faking pregnancies!? And making her stress for a week? After just returning from Maternity Leave herself...like as if she doesn't have enough to worry about!? Am I the only one who thinks this was crazy insensitive on so many different levels!?
@JennM205 that sounds really stupid to me. She out on a good face and got excited but probably had a lot of unneeded stress about it in private. Just inconsiderate.
Hello all. Trying to keep up here although fb has kicked off (though I think it might slow down over there after the get to know yous and before lots of Babies are born).
Enjoyed the fair this morning, now husband is off to work until midnight and e is napping. Heat and humidity are right back, so ready for September.
@JennM205 No, I found myself furrowing my brow as I read your comment. I think that joke was in poor taste. She didn't leave them "in a lurch"! Your sister has a right to have a family and take her time off without being made to feel guilty for it!
@JennM205 that's such a weird prank? I don't...I don't find the humor in that, it's just a really weird and insensitive thing to do.
@RG1 make sure you lock the seatbelt if you're putting it in that way. Pull the belt all the way out, then thread it, then pull it tight. That's probably why it was loose!
@JennM205 very inconsiderate and in poor taste. Agree with PP that it's like they tried to make her feel a little guilty for going on leave, even if it was jokingly. Very strange "prank".
