Y'all are so good. We have several large Ikea storage cubes and everything is dumped into those. DD goes through them to find what she wants, but I've never even tried to organize them.
Forget the toy box - I'm planning a toy room. Throw it in there and shut the door. My husband NEVER uses his home office / man cave, and honestly what is in there now is mostly toys. I told him his desk is moving to our (currently un used) breakfast nook, and his toys (ehm. Excuse me... collectible action figurines) are going up on the wall on shelves, and he can share his toy room with his sons toys. My husband has 800 video games, (which is mostly what the room is full of) so he can share with the 800 stuffed toys that are about to invade our home. And yes there are actually 800 - he has a spread sheet noting condition, purchase price and current value.
Or he can sell them - now he is 39, and never plays them it *may* be time to let go. (I only bring that up if I feel like having a fight though....)
My Dad calls DH "Sheldon" (from big bang) - sometimes, its such a true story.
I just stand in the shower and prop my leg up on the lip of the tub. I haven't run into any issues yet but then again I have to shave everyday or every other day or my legs will be unbearably itchy.
Same. I just feel for parts of my legs that I can't see and pray I don't cut myself.

My hubby is also a gamer. He has one game console he never uses--I think it is a game cube or something? I tried to convince him it might be time to least that one and the games for it go, but instead of the baby being a signal it's time to move on, it has just triggered a desire to hoard because he wants to play all of the games with baby. I have tried to convince him that baby might not be a gamer (I'm not), but he won't even consider it. DH mostly plays PC games though, so we don't have a ton of console games taking up space.

We have every game console known to man. We even have two Nintendo 64's - one is pokemon themed. Honestly the only game I have ever seen him play is wii sports. He says the games were his escape during a tough period in his life (his ex was really abusive) and he has some good memories playing them with friends. Okay - so keep half! or a third! You can't possibly be emotionally attached to all 800...
He's the clutter bug in our marriage. When we moved in I had a 16 foot uhaul, and an SUV full. Mine was almost all furniture. I had a washer and dryer, two beds, two dressers, a living room set, kitchen table and chairs. He had a 20 foot uhaul, plus two SUVs with a futon, a bunch of shelves and a desk. The rest was all ... stuff. We've pared it down, but it drives me up a wall. He had 27 pairs of levi jeans smaller than size 34 (29s and 30s mostly) He's currently a size 40. He is 6'4 and 40 years old - being a 29 would be unhealthy. Get rid of them! (he did - we donated them)

I love Nintendo 64. I've got one sitting here, I should plug it up and go to town lol
@Allisun85 My DH doesn't have quite that many games, but his takes up a whole corner of our playroom closet. It used to be DHs mancave with all of his video games and posters of The Walking Dead and Lebron James. Then when DD needed a playroom and I started babysitting he got moved up to the spare bedroom, but there's no closet in there big enough for all of his games. Now that DD and this baby have to share a room he got moved once again into the tiny room that was DDs nursery and is now the spare bedroom so we'd have enough room for two beds in the kids bedroom. I've tried to get him to sell his old PS3 when we got the PS4 and at least one of his XBOX360s (why he needs two along with the XBOXONE I don't know), but he has yet to do it and we're going on over a year so I don't think it's ever going to happen.
He was pretty bummed about being moved into the way smaller room (we somehow managed to squeeze his computer, a twin bed, and a tv in there, but it's pretty tight) until my mom brought over a projector and he spent the day setting it up. It took the sting out of it a little bit I think, though his zombie posters have been banned since my mom sleeps in the spare bedroom most weekends.
@cait5413 that is what my husband says he is going to show our daughter how to play and I told him I believe she probably won't be into games like that he has 2 game systems, PS4 and Xbox One which his son and him can play.......
Currently is pouring has been for like this since 8:30am, wish the power would go out, so I can go home.
10 freezer crock pot meals ready for Baby Boy's arrival in 2 days 2 weeks or less! I had planned to make 20, 2 sets of each of 10 recipes, but kind of underestimated how much room they take up in the freezer... oops. Husband thinks he'll have no problem doing the cooking when we get home from the hospital, but I have a feeling we'll both appreciate super easy meals!!
Please excuse me patting myself on the back over here.
@kwilliams3402 That's awesome! Did you knock that out all in one day? I've been trying to make them gradually over the last couple of weeks. I hate cooking as it is, so I know I'm really going to hate it once these babies are here!
I wish we had space for a man cave! My hubby is a collector of music - hundreds of vinyls and even more CDs. Plus turntables, boom boxes from the 80s/90s, we have a piano in storage, even one of those really old record player with a big horn! He has a vision of having a music and media room when we finally move to the suburbs with all of the family having dance parties .. I'm like ummm ok just as long as I get to be the official tambourine player. Male hoarding is no joke!
@rikopy - I had aspirations of making them all one Sunday, about two weeks ago. Reality was that I split it over two weekends, with husband's help.... being on my feet for half an hour is about all I can do without a break these days!
And, I see you're having twins. Mad props for growing two babies for so long!! This one is going to do me in... can't even fathom carrying two...
@kwilliams3402 I felt so good after finishing freezer meals! We don't have a slow cooker, so I made a lot of casseroles as well as breakfast sandwiches, muffins, and lactation cookies. I definitely overdid it a few days, though. Too much standing by the stove without supportive shoes!
Married May 2014 DD born August 2016 Baby #2 due December 2017
@kwilliams3402 good for you! I definitely had intentions of doing that, but have settled for marinating and freezing meat in ziplocks instead. I figure we could just throw them on the grill for a quick meal. Maybe I'll motivate myself to get a few casseroles done this weekend... Maybe.
My doctor told me I have to eat more. She said absolutely DO NOT skip meals, make sure I have snacks at least every 2 hours, and a snack before bed. That is on top of the 5000 oz. of fluids I am taking in. I get so full so fast! With the weather so hot and humid like it has been, it is hard for me to eat. I never feel like it. Any good tips or tricks?
@jamiesc58 I don't have the problem where my OB tells me to eat more, but I have lost my appetite recently due to the heat and giant belly. Maybe try sneaking in extra-caloric foods as snacks like peanut butter and avocados?
NBR at all, but I just need to vent. I work as a legal recruiter, which is a commission-based position (I have a base salary but most of my income is supposed to come from commissions). Business has been super slow this year, but recently we started working with a new firm and it looks like they want to hire one of my candidates. So yay, money for me! But then I JUST found out that my boss, in order to get this client, negotiated down so far on our rates that my fee will be cut in half. With how slow it's been, I got really excited to have a good prospect, so this is disappointing. I know some money is better than no money, but it just pisses me off to find this out after I've done all the work, and that no one thought to tell me! This happened once about a year ago and I raised a stink about it, and they ended up having me sign an addendum to my employment contract clarifying that I agree to this sort of thing (that the boss has the authority to negotiate our rates with any new clients). Still, I think I deserve the courtesy of someone telling me when I'm working at half price. Especially when I am on my last few weeks of work and this is my last chance to bank some money for the baby before I leave. I really got my hopes up.
At least this makes me feel even better about my decision to quit this place and be home with my son. I would not appreciate this kind of shady dealing if I were putting him in daycare each day just to be here. I will be walking out of here in a few weeks feeling zero percent conflicted about my choice, so I guess that's the blessing in all of this.
@Snaps816 That is such crap, especially the not telling you about it part. You did 100% of the job for 50% of the pay, which is not right in my opinion. I was a tech recruiter right after college and it's a hard job! I only lasted a year and got screwed on some commissions... I feel like that field is just shady in general.
@Mfuller76 My company is pretty reputable, but yeah, it is a weird industry. I really think that if the boss is going to renegotiate the fee, they should pay me what I would have earned under the standard fee and then have the company eat the difference. But I got laughed out of the room when I suggested that!
I'm sad my target run just got ruined. I went to help mil with some computer stuff, then stopped at McDonald's (another craving!!), but while I was in the drive thru I started having horrible back pain and contractions. So I just stopped at the gas station for a couple things and skipped target. Today is my bffs bday, and I was going to get her a gift. But I was in too much pain to go. It's also sad because it very well could have been my last trip to target alone for a while! Now that I'm home the pain has subsided. Maybe baby doesn't like sitting in my truck anymore! Or maybe he's getting ready to come out. I don't know and it's driving me nuts!

Not gonna lie, I would probably stop at Target while in labor I'm sorry you were in that much pain, though!
@Stephanie7693 I must have been having sympathy contractions for you, because I had some while at Target tonight. I got what I wanted and left. Which is really disappointing because I loooooooove Target.
I have my hospital bag basically packed but I made a list of the last minute items to put in there. I just clicked the link to the checklist that TB has for what to bring to the hospital and it's ridiculous! It says to bring your breast pump (you most likely won't use it in the hospital and most hospitals have ones that you can use if needed) but also basically says to leave any of your clothing and pjs at home because it "will get ruined". Ummm, none of my clothing got ruined when I had DS. I mean, I wore the hospital gown during labor and delivery but then changed into my own clothing for the rest of my stay. When do they think it's going to get ruined??
If I got contractions every time I planned a trip to target, I would have had this baby ages ago! Lol! DH jokes Target is my second home. Sad thing is, this statement is accurate.

I love target, and walking around there in labor wouldn't be all bad, except I was alone and if I go into labor I have no time to waste! Both my kids were born 3 hours after I realized I was in labor. And between the back pain and contractions I didn't think I should keep driving. I think it has more to do with how I sit when I drive, because I felt better once I got home. Still having some contractions, but not enough
@Curls919... when I had my first baby my clothes got thrown away. My water broke in the car on the way to the hospital, and when I got out of the car it went everywhere! The nurses told me they were going to throw it and I tried to stop them because they were brand new socks lol. They showed me how gross they were and I told them to go ahead and trash it! Aside from that, as long as you don't plan on wearing your own clothes during labor, I wouldn't worry. Just don't bring your favorite pants in case you bleed more than your pad can hold.
I'm starting to get really worried that I'm not going to know when I am in labor. I'm 38+2 as of midnight and have not had a single pre-labor symptom. I haven't had any BH so I'm afraid maybe I'm one if those people who has contractions and can't feel it. My mom just told me tonight that that happened to her when she had one of my brothers. She's also let me know that she went fairly quickly with all 3 of us ( She stalled with me a little because I was either double bagged or blocked the hole so the doctor had to break her water again). She did not push with any of us. With her second she asked for an epidural immediately and it didn't kick in until after baby was out. Which is my other huge fear. This whole time I just assumed as a FTM I would probably go the full 40 weeks if not beyond and that my labor would take a pretty long time. But with all the extra pain I've had the past week or so, I'm starting to wonder. I've had the period cramp feeling many times throughout the pregnancy and the doctors have told me every time that that is not contractions. But now I'm second guessing myself and whenever that happens I'm worried I'm actually in labor and wasting precious time ignoring it!
@Car0liiine I feel the same way. I'm 38 weeks today and the most I have felt is maybe some light cramping and a few sharper pains that only last a second. I have no idea if anything that I feel counts as BH or contractions. My OB keeps asking if anything is happening and I always say I'm pretty sure nothing has. I'm 0 cm dilated and maybe 20% effaced, so I keep telling myself that if anything I was feeling was productive, something more would be happening down there.
@Lynnlove28 Did you start potty training yet? I thought you may have initially asked about it awhile ago. We are starting DD today. Terrifying but trying to keep positive. I know our kids are around the same age (21 months today) so I wanted to see how it was going!
@car0liiine I've had the same worry, but it's more because I have had so many pre term labor issues! "Come in when you are contracting less than 5 minutes apart, for at least a minute, for an hour" - yup, btdt. Twice. I get what they have assured me are "real, but non productive" contractions probably every other day, so unless they start getting really close together I tend to ignore them! When that happens and walking, a bath, drinking a bunch of water etc doesn't help, do I just ignore it as more of the same? I'm terrified I will ignore it when I shouldn't...
And we're an hour from the hospital so on one hand its a huge PITA to keep running to labor and del, but on the other - I really don't want to give birth in the car. DH is also against this idea.
@justaudrey I wimped out lol. DH and I talked about it some more and decided that we are gonna wait until she gets adjusted to the new baby. We are gonna start probably around her 2nd birthday which is at the very end of October. We just didn't want to get her fully trained and then her regress once the baby is born. Also if I'm being 100% honest I am not anywhere near mentally prepared to start potty training. You'll have to let me know how it goes!
@Lynnlove28@justaudrey DD just turned 2, and I'm offering the potty but not pushing it. I'm honestly not ready to go through the headache of potty training with a new baby in the house. If I'm nursing or something it would be really inconvenient to help DD with the potty and to wipe her and stuff. As tempting and wonderful as it sounds I think my sanity needs a little more time!
@DressageDarling@Car0liiine If it makes you feel any better, I was induced with DS at 41w1d and never had a single labor symptom, zero BH or regular contractions, never dilated or effaced at all. Nothing.
