The Bump keeps eating my post! I went to Costa Rica with my BF a year ago and fell in love with sloths, it seemed fitting for a nursery theme. Can't wait to see how it all turns out once we get the furniture in!

Mine is finished! It's the "Fiona Fox" theme from Babies R Us. I love it so much, I keep going in there just to gaze at it! My Allison girl is going to have the best room in the house.
We got our boy's room painted today! Dh has some touch ups to do and the we'll bring in his dresser and bookshelf. Fil is building the crib so that may be a bit longer and my dad is buying us a glider.
Both my kids will have far nicer rooms than the adults do! We have amazing furniture...but no theme in art...we have a wedding picture, DD'S newborn picture, and a strange painting of the ocean hanging in our room. The ocean picture is only here cuz it was my grandmas and when she died in couldn't bring myself to get rid of it (like the China cabinet, China and Nick knacks, bookshelves, and 7 million other things).
Still a a very much work in progress. Very excited for the wooden rocking horse my aunt had made for baby and the Disney plushes DH got this weekend - I'm obsessed.
These are all so beautiful and fun! I haven't started number 2s room but I went with a travel theme for my first. I was particularly excited about the sign post. I had the guests at my baby shower all paint a sign with the name of one of their favorite places they'd been to, and then write a short entry in a travel Journal for the baby about their experience there. Then my husband and I put this post with the signs on his wall. I'm looking forward to sharing their adventures with him when he gets older!
The nursery is DONE. Had to make a few compromises, but I am really proud of how great it looks. Will probably get a few more animal stuffies, but it's so nice to walk in and know it's essentially ready for my little boy (gonna wash everything first, of course). Big thing off my to-do list now---ahhhh.

@dmontgo that looks fantastic! SO good. Making me feel serious conviction since we're the same amount pregnant save a day and I haven't lifted a finger toward my nursery!
@dmontgo I wish planners and type-A's could bottle some of that and I could take it in a dropper when I need it. Lately I need an extra strength dose.
I had a professor/advisor like this in college and I loved her. Anything big project-wise (our huge student teaching project that required a notebook worth of stuff, for example) she would break down into pieces and have them be due throughout the semester so procrastinators like me couldn't ruin my own life. Not only was everything done on time, but it was also done perfectly. Not one component was rushed because she made us do each thing one at a time. I wish she could come live with me and help me do my life like that in general.
So needless to say, I appreciate people like yourself. ETA: In fact, I like people like that so much, I married one. My husband is captain on top of things.
@caseyewhitaker My husband is much more relaxed than I am, and I am so glad. He reminds me to slow down and smell the roses when I'm being crazy haha. But when it comes to vacations and the baby stuff--he's really glad I'm, uh, excited to have a list and knock things out, and I write one hell of a budget!
Learning how to relax though has been very helpful...especially since I know I'll need to chill out some when baby gets here.
@dmontgo Looks awesome!!!! I'm super jealous. I am also pretty type-A but my husband is still using the nursery as his office so I can't do ANYTHING yet. Driving me nuts.
I actually have a nursery question for anyone who already has furniture. I really like a certain white crib by Fisher Price but the matching furniture is discontinued. Do you think that white DaVinci furniture would match well enough, or should I get a different crib so that everything matches? (Maybe I am being super neurotic, please tell me if so!)
@ea301 Our crib and dresser are from different brands. If everything is white I think no one would notice they are different brands. Or you could get a cool colored dresser to offset the white. It's up to you!
@cayaylonglegs I love it! All the Disney!!! @aframe77 What an awesome theme, and the idea to share adventures with your little one later! @dmontgo Your pup blends in pretty well with all the animals And I also am really feeling the orange. I think I registered for the changing pad cover, we are just doing a multicolor room with no real theme.
I got the fabric to make cozy sheets and covers for the pack n play and diaper changer. It's a forest theme. The alphabet fabric is for a flannel swaddle since it will be cold!
Eaton's closets are now empty praise, praise, praise Him for the blessing of some energy this morning! Boxes in his room have been gone through, I overdid it carrying a big plastic tub (I'm an idiot and now my hip is hurting, feels like I've pulled or irritated a muscle - awesome. BUT I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel in there. I'll post pictures of before and after when I get the room completely empty.
I organized all of our spare bedding that was in there, emptied and organized two boxes full of office supplies that had been left packed up from the move (DH used to work from home so we have a lot of stuff) in there. I washed all our curtains that had been piled on top of that stuff. Going through all the spare decor in there tonight and I should be done. Hurray for some motivation and energy to address that bedroom.
I picked this up at Hobby Lobby this weekend. Walls will be light gray, white crib and dresser. Above the dresser I'm going to do some type of gallery thing. This picture, then I have some small gold round mirrors, and I want to grab something with some more pink on it. Possibly get a print with her name on it. Animals aren't really a theme, but DH loves elephants and the colors in this are what I wanted.
Thats all I got so far, but it's progress! Our goal is to order the crib and dresser by Labor Day and DH will paint that weekend.
@cgss11 it looks like we're doing a similar color scheme! I love that picture! I am doing white furniture with gold and blush accents. The walls were already painted a grayish purple with neat shelves and chair rails when we moved in so we somewhat cheated. This was our guest room and we've just moved the queen bed out this week to prepare for baby furniture. Still not sure about the lantern lights above where the crib would go (those were there too). The pictures on the shelves will be removed in lieu of books and kid-friendly items. I also wanted to do pictures above the crib, but being in Southern California I've been advised to avoid in case of earthquake
Progress! Room is painted and the furniture is built. The crib and dresser are going to have to go on opposite walls because the crib is like blinding white, and the dresser (which use to seem white lol) is not as blinding. We're getting a glider from my SIL whenever she brings that over, and I hope to get some pictures hung this weekend. The curtains I ordered should be in this week too.
This has become my own personal thread now apparently haha. This is as done as it will get for awhile. I may hang a shelf above the dresser, or get some type of picture, eventually a rug, and some baskets for books and toys.
We are making some progress! Am working on refinishing the nightstands (they will stick around next to incoming rocker and dresser for more storage). There's just "stuff" everywhere right now but I'm feeling good about the mix of colors and patterns.
And don't worry, those pillows are for the rocker, they will not remain in the crib.
Re: The Big Nursery Thread
@ashleaf2018 if we end up with a boy I'm doing a camping theme too! Found the cutest fabric at fabric.com that was that theme!

What we have so far. Painted walls and assembled furniture. I'm calling it good until after the baby shower
