Has anyone been measuring smaller at their last doctor appt? I measured 38 weeks at 38 week appt and then I measured 37 weeks at the 39 week appt. the doctor said it's probably bc the baby dropped even further into my pelvis but it still made me nervous. They are doing an ultrasound and NST at 39+6.
I've been measuring smaller and smaller each week since 37 weeks. As of this week the doctor could feel her head during my cervix check so she's definitely dropped! I believe it's completely normal.
I have had some serious swelling in my feet the past few days, have pitting edema and no longer have ankles... but today they are so swollen that my toes are starting to tingle. Good grief.
After all the energy i used to lift up my leg and hold my foot, I realize I can no longer wear regular shoes, not even my favorite sketchers memory foam...just sandals and bedroom slippers until Tuesday
I had one of those days where I was in a good mood and looked good....until I got home in well adjusted light, can't believe I looked like that all day. Lol. I almost cried looking down at my feet, they look like bear claws right now and not the sweet kind.

I was measuring behind at my last two appointments by two weeks. Baby came at 38+2 and still weighed 8lbs 11 ounces. My midwife said it was most likely because baby had dropped.

Does anyone feel any pressure in their hip bones? I have felt this for weeks now. It's like all of a sudden the baby will just start pushing on them or something. It only happens when I'm sitting or laying down.
@midwestbaby oh yea, I definitely think she's measuring behind because she's dropped. I can tell she's still growing bigger! Each week she seems to take up more and more space and my belly gets bigger. It's just hanging lower now.

I have that all the time, have for the last month or so. It's just baby dropping lower into your pelvis. Feels super weird, like baby is pushing them out, but not necessarily painful.
@Hannah0726 yeah, ever since my LO dropped I feel a good amount of pressure on my hips and occasionally nerves in my pelvis, especially when the baby stretches!!
FTM here and does anyone know if when your cramps intense with hard belly is that a stronger contraction? I have been having this pretty much all evening

Mine felt like strong period cramps when they started. I never had them wrap around the my back. Just in the front with some shooting leg pain. (Which we know now is how baby was positioned, it pushed a nerve every time it pushed baby down). They were also hard for me to time in the beginning because I just felt an overall crampy feeling.

@KMeredith82well i have been having them 8-10mins apart and then my lower back hurts, this morning I almost cried @midwestbaby with them i also feel like my legs are sore and out of control it hurts to walk at times
After intense pressure all day yesterday, I had pretty strong contractions 8-10 mins apart and then 6 mins apart last night. Of course, they died out after an hour and a half. So frustrating!
@Katm89 LOL, I have had the same thought! My main worry is that it will scare my DD to death-- she hates seeing me upset and gets super protective, so I really want to avoid her seeing me in active labour. I had a contraction this morning after breakfast and she brought me a bunch of pillows and blankets to try and help me feel better.
@fremdschamen that is so sweet! My DD is the same way.
The sweep did nothing, just in case everyone was dying of curiousity. So here I sit, at work, 4 cm dilated, frustrated. Since today was supposed to be his "adjusted due date" I got my hopes up. At this point I think all of my running and walking has just made him even more comfortable.
@Fremdschamen I watched a birth vlog on youtube where the mom gave birth home alone on accident... and her daughter was there... she kept saying to her daughter... "Mommy's fine, I'm just working very hard" and her daughter actually thought it was funny and would come into the bathroom during the contractions and tell her mom "you're so silly mommy"
wait @katm89 someone made a video blog of their accidental at home birth? and then still posted it on youtube? how did they have time/energy to video the whole thing?!?
Also, question for you ladies, do you seem to only have contractions at night? I keep waking up every night with contractions for like 1/2 hr or 45 minutes, and they fizzle out.... but it never seems to happen during the day. i wonder if it's because i'm hyper aware of it happening at night since i have no other distractions, or if laying down for that long brings them on or something.
So last night I was laying on the couch and I started cramping a bit. I then sat up for a seconds and felt a huge pop. I thought as soon as I stand up my water is going to break, so I stood up and nothing happened. It wasn't a joint or anything because it was right in my cervix. Anyways, woke up this morning and nothing is happening. Just freaked me out!

I've experienced this before as well and was met with the same disappointment.
@JournoGrl23 That's good to hear. I've been worrying about it since last night. I've been going crazy reading stories online about the baby blocking the fluid from coming out??? But it's been a long time and I've moved around enough for that not to be true. The things I've googled in the last 12 hours.... I feel silly!
@Hannah0726 it's the 2am - 5am things I google that are probably the most entertaining. I feel like we could create a hashtag to trend on Instagram/Twitter of the ridiculous things that pop through pregnant women's brains.
@caitlinj187 She thought she was going into labor so she video'd an update of her running errands... and saying she hopes todays the day... but then stopped videoing.... and then her husband was videoing the call he got from her saying her water broke and to rush home... they later did a video explaining the whole thing... but he missed the birth by 5 minutes... she called him as he pulled into the drive way...and said "she's here" and then the EMTs got there and they had a traumatic time after that... they were kind of scarred from it and said they missed having the "golden hour" and how the EMTs wouldn't let her husband ride with her... and I felt so bad for them.. she had the baby like 20 minutes after her water broke...
@Hannah0726 I did the same thing! And I worried about it as well. But I had an ultrasound yesterday, which was a couple days after I heard the pop, and the fluid levels were fine. I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I thought if the baby was blocking the fluid from coming out, then you could lay down for a while and then when you stand up some would come out? I probably read that by googling things though.
I basically don't even have symptoms anymore. Heartburn hasn't been bad. No BH, occasional cramps after I pee, and thats about it. I know I shouldn't complain but seriously... At this point some symptoms might even make me feel better about progress (which I'm obviously not making).
My water broke and I didn't know it. I thought I was peeing myself a little each time I stood up. I had a BPP u/s and my fluid was high (24!).
Luckily I mentioned that I wasn't sure to my doc and tested for amniotic fluid. So yeah it seems crazy but the babies head can be blocking the flow of fluid. I really didn't have a huge gush until I delivered his shoulders. Ew.
My ankles and feet are so swollen they ache... I have had close to 94oz of water so far today... and have my recycle bin under my desk flipped upside down so i can have my feet up... this baby needs to get out
As of last night I've had super sharp pains that take my breath away and make it hard to do anything. Don't really feel it when I'm laying down, just trying to do any activity: using the bathroom, walking, cleaning, bending over, etc. It almost feels like really bad gas pain but without gas. This is going to make the next five days until I get induced even more miserable! I'm starting to worry it could mean something is wrong. But I'm assuming it's just the baby putting extra pressure on something.
