Someone mentioned hummus so I managed to find myself a Lebanese restaurant to try for lunch. I thought it was pretty good but DH wasn't at all impressed.
When nothing sounds good, my current strategy is to try a tiny bite of what DH cooked for dinner and see what happens. Sometimes it goes badly and I give up but sometimes it turns out I can eat it after all. Meat hasn't sounded tempting at all but last night's steaks were epically awesome after I forced down that first bite. And the previous night's fish tacos were decent. Thankful for his good cooking right now.
Is it fair to say that I crave everything? I am just hungry all the time. I can eat a full meal and be starving again in two hours. I haven't been overly nauseous although I couldn't force myself to eat a plain chicken breast (ew!) for lunch the other day. Oh and doing the dishes make me gag (oh darn!).
A favorite so far has been mac & cheese! Oh and chicken soaked in Queso Blanco chip dip....don't ask.
I have been all about fruit. Which is weird because normally I am much more of a vegetable person than a fruit person. I just devoured a giant plate of strawberries. And I'm probably going to go back for more soon.
Last pregnancy I was all about the taco bell bean burritos. Like, 3x/week. This time it's all strawberries, grapes, melon and white bread. I kinda wish I craved taco bell again.
Intense craving for chik fil a sandwich with Polynesian sauce. I told DH that I don't think I can function until I have one....he and DD are picking it up now
other than that, I've hated everything really. This nausea is kicking my ass.

Yes all I want is fruits and veggies and toast with butter. But I will eat just about anything right now. I'm sooo hungry all the time
@m6agua I am hoping will power to eat more paleo comes in the second trimester! Because it is NOT happening right now! Although I did make paleo pancakes this morning while fighting the intense urge to get a giant breakfast burrito. It was a battle. I won. For now.
It is interesting that everyone is wanting watery fruits. I wonder if that is our bodies trying to help us get more water in our systems. This whole thing is such a weird old science experiment.
@heyboohey yeah I'm not doing so great as you can see. Although dinner last night was green beans, sweet potato, and pork tenderloin all Whole30. So at least some of my meals are on point. I hope I can start to get back to paleo after the first trimester too.
@HeyBooHey@m6agua I was thinking paleo but my dire need for toast is killing me. I feel best on a paleo diet, I just don't know if I can do it
I am trying to eat as clean as I can, when I can. But I am listening to my body and I figure if I have a craving for something, there must be a reason for it. Like, maybe the baby needs ice cream for dinner?
I have reverted back to my elementary school self so far: Mac and cheese, pizza lunchables, chocolate milk, cheezits, and fountain Mountain Dew. I did have steak last night and it was great, but in general, the above are the only things that sound good. Hopefully better nutrition will come in 2nd tri!

Anything and everything! Including Taco Bell, which I rarely eat but secretly love.
ETA: ugh TB keeps eating half of my comments.
We we went to Maggiano's with friends last night and I ate sooooo much food. I dream of a mostly Paleo pregnancy, but pretty sure I just don't have the willpower for that at this stage.
Ugh...my all day nausea has gotten worse the last few days. Nothing sounds good. Water even makes me nauseous which is no bueno. Drinking out of a straw makes it a little better, but not much. I choked down 1/2 of a peanut butter sandwich this AM and an apple sauce cup. Lunch was a little better. I had a can of low sodium chicken noodle soup and 2 pieces of garlic bread. My mom, brother and his girlfriend are coming over tonight for belated Easter dinner and I already want to barf thinking about it.
I was so excited to make grilled cheese and tomato soup... but when I went to grab the cheese out of the fridge I discovered I left the cheese out on the counter last night. I'm so disappointed I might cry.

Oh my gosh! I'm so jealous to see some of you eating so normally! The only things that don't make me throw up right now are blackberries, zucchini, and mac and cheese (and it must be Kraft Spirals). I was trying to explain to my husband the other night how nostalgic I'm feeling about enchiladas and burritos and he just didn't get it. Also, I cannot wait for the day that I want a big old salad again!
Someone mentioned baked potatoes earlier and a light went on like YES THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANT. Thank god because I couldn't take any more strawberries, yogurt and toast.
I'm so excited for this baked potato. Like, it's the greatest sounding thing ever.
Tonight I had to throw away a brownie a la mode after 2 bites because I was going to vomit. Let me repeat that...a BROWNIE A LA MODE! WTF spawn inside me?!?! Who doesn't like brownies and/or ice cream. I wanted to cry because I wanted to eat it so bad, but I just couldn't.
I baked a cake for dessert tonight (parents came over). I could bring the rest to work tomorrow, but I'll likely leave it at home so I don't have to share (except with SO who sadly has no willpower, especially when it comes to cake).
Just opened up a jar of Mateo's Salsa. It's so legit, I may not even eat my dinner of chicken enchiladas.
Yes that stuff is AMAZING. I get it at Costco and tell everyone about it lol.
Yesterday I needed queso, so we went to qdoba. And then I needed ice cream, so I got a cookies and cream concrete from the custard place that just opened for the season. Because, you know, pregnancy.
Side note- all day I felt barfy and was sucking down sparkling water and making myself eat satines, so when I thought queso sounded good I figured I had to take advantage.

Yes, we just bought the big jar at Costco, which is another favorite of mine.
Update: I was not able to eat chicken enchiladas. Even the kids and husband were raving, but my stomach said Nope!
No nausea for me! Craving lots of veggies, hot stuff, pickles and sunflower seeds. Nothing like broccoli, cauliflower, and peppers. Or hot fries, pickles and sunflower seeds. Its so good!!
I have no cravings... i dont want to eat anything but im constantly hungry...i get hungry every two hours and its driving me crazy. I have no nausea unless i get hungry... first sign of hunger feels like a death wave of instant headache and nausea followed by growling stomach. Everything sounds gross. Im doing chocolate milk in those tiny boxes, luna bars and beans and rice
I just wanted to ask: What do you eat when you have food aversions to everything, but you're also hungry? The only things that sound good to me ever are jamba juice or milkshakes... and skim milk...
I don't know what to eat. Baby hates food. I've been eating actual food, but it's a struggle pretty much every time I eat something. (Obviously, since I've gained a pound since BFP I'm not starving, but I hate all the food.)
@MissAmeliaPond I have had zero interest in fresh veggies, but yesterday I made a homemade ranch dip (google paleo dump ranch, there are versions without the raw egg) and now I want to go buy all the veggies so I can dip them in this ranch. It is so flipping good. It has already helped me eat way healthier.
