I'm sure this is somewhere and I'm missing it but...
my boobs haven't been sore since first tri and all of a sudden today they are hurting. Not like an ache or dull pain but sharp pains that sometimes come and go and sometimes stick around for 15-20 minutes or so. Anyone else?
I'm hitting an emotional wall guys. 39 wks 5 days and my cervix has been at 2 cm since week 36. No false labor. I'm not even sure I've experienced a real contraction. I'm going to be pregnant FOREVER! I picked my doctor because she's slow to induce and I'm still happy with that choice but hearing her say May 16th she'd start considering soft induction steps broke my heart. That's more then a week away.
38w2d - I started losing my MP around 2am. Got back in bed and experienced my first lower back and lower bump cramping. Up until now, it's just been lower back/period cramp feelings. We'll see where this goes!
@Charla1224 - Time to get start eating pineapple while bouncing on a ball followed by some intense hill hiking!

I empathize with you--I have been dilated for awhile as well with no real contractions that I can tell. You've got this!! You can count the days until you'll meet your baby with two hands (and just add one pinky toe )

I completely understand. I'm also getting really down about 0 progression. But bright side, we can't ACTUALLY be pregnant forever Also, what are soft induction steps? I'm going to have a heart to heart with my doctor tomorrow too--39 weeks. Just to see what my options are at 40. I begged DH earlier in the pregnancy to tell me "no" if I asked about induction, but I honestly didnt think it'd be this hard physically and emotionally.

She'll sweep me next week if I'm still pregnant at 40w5d. After that she likes to do a cervix softener, a foley, even breaking my water, pitocin is a last straw thing for her.

Thanks for that. I also want pitocin to be the last straw. You'll make it mama!
is it weird that my OB already scheduled an induction for me next Friday at 39 weeks ? I didn't oppose it at all since I was induced with my first at 39 weeks too and it was only 4 hours even though I def think he will come out on his own before then
At last weeks appointment, and at yesterdays, my OB said both times "IF you make it until your induction". Soooooo now I am sitting at work, eating my pineapple, and wondering if doctors have a sense of when you will deliver, but cannot obviously say anything confirming it. She sees hundreds of pregnant women a year. I wonder if they can pick up on trends and use it as an estimate. I really wish I wouldn't get that thought in my head. It is gonna to make me crazy.

this is exactly how I feel only I'm 1/2 a cm dilated and have had false labor 3x with no progression. I'm freaking out and I am 39+4... emotionally and physically and the stress of work is making it all the worse. May 16 would likely be my induction as well but I have an appointment on the 11th and at that point I'll ask if it would be possible to explore an induction any earlier. fx for both of us it doesn't come to that.

For no reason at all? If so, yes, that's odd.
I agree that it's odd if there's no medical reason.
yes .. I'm wondering if it is because j had an original date of May 9th so technically I would be past due I kept measuring small but after all my testing everything was negative ? I see her again on Monday before my induction so maybe I should ask I think I was just overwhelmed and didn't think anything of it but in other news I thought I lost all my plug and it's still coming out since last night .. good grief how much is here of this thing

I doubt it man. I was told at 37 weeks, it'll probably be within the next 1-2 weeks. If you want your mom to get a plane ticket then tell her to buy it for 39 weeks. I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow and no dice (no baby).

I wish! My OB has said the same regarding making it to the following week's appointment, but I'm about to prove her wrong for the second time, unless LO is miraculously born in the next 20 hours.

Yes shooting pains the last week or so! I have read something about milk duct preparation? Sometimes when I am in my office alone I just grab them in pain! Need to make sure I don't do that in public!
I'm due May 29th no health issues except being older (40). My special pain feels like being stabbed in the pubic bone with a knife for a few seconds every time I move and or its grinding there. Takes my breath away and I cry out sometimes. It used to be later in the day now it's mist of the day. Anyone else know this to be their normal? Is that lightning crotch or?

I had that up until the day I gave birth. My midwife said its a combination of your hips widening and relaxin making your pelvic joint loose. Lightning crotch (to me) was more a sudden jab in the cervix caused by my baby shoving his fist there.

This is my normal. I guess it's increasingly common with each pregnancy. My midwives recommend a support belt but I'm overwhelmed by the options.
well I just pooped my brains out and lost my plug all at the same time haha I had been having brownish mucus discharge on and off since this morning - now let's get these contractions started ! lol

Have you looked at PSD or something along those lines? @JoMunson is spot on about the relaxin and hips widening. This is my 4th pregnancy and the first time I've had it. DH and I can both hear my bones grinding. It's getting harder and harder to walk and roll over in bed. Sorry you're dealing with this. It's pretty painful. I have to sleep with a pillow between my legs.

I had that pretty bad at about 6 months; mine was from the pubic symphysis joint moving too much (it's a pretty cool joint that can move in all directions, but it is so friggin' painful). The only thing that gave me some quick relief was doing that twist stretch where you lay on your back on the ground and twist one leg over (I can post a pic if that made no sense). It "smashed" the joint back together.
Mine's not so bad now, but holy crap it used to hurt like hell. I used to barely be able to move without yelling in pain. Now my stupid SI joint hurts nonstop, ha.
I was reading one of my pregnancy apps this morning. It said real contractions start out at the top of your uterus. This can't be true for everyone, can it?
You'd think I'd know being a STM, but all I remember from last time is all over belly pain with the contractions, I don't remember how they started out.

This isn't true for everybody lol. My contractions started in my butt and radiated to the top of my uterus throughout my entire labor. It literally felt like I had the biggest poop of my life trying to come out. My ob said this is just as common as them starting at the top and coming down or starting in your back and coming to the front.
Just came from the doctors office. First cervical check of the pregnancy. I am 39 weeks tomorrow Saturday. I am one and a half centimeters dilated and I feel like these contractions are getting stronger and stronger by the minute.
But since I just got checked literally two hours ago- it couldn't have been so fast right or could the cervix open up so fast? Back pain and uterus hardening and an exhausting feeling. Anyone dilated really really fast before? FTM here.
Re: 3rd Tri/Labor Impending Symptoms **Updated**
Just got admitted and IV is in!! Went from 3 cm to 5 cm in 2 hours with contractions 7-10 mins apart.
