So... DH and I thought we'd DTD to move things along. It was super uncomfortable. He had a hard time getting in there. So I put my finger up there and my cervix is SUPER low and right behind it I can feel something hard and round. I'm 95% sure it's my kids head! Guys, I wasn't digging up in there either. I'm talking 2 inches up maybe. Needless to say DH is afraid to try sex anymore. Should I be concerned that she's so low? My cervix actually felt firm still. And I'm still not sure what a contraction is or how the differ from lightening crotch, pressure, or BH.
I would like to participate here, but I got nothin'. Due date is Monday! Anyone else getting close with no signs of labor, whatsoever?
I feel you! Besides BH I got nothing! And in Germany once you go past your due date it means you have to go in daily for doctors appointments. Hoping she comes tomorrow (my due date) because I am not looking forward to the hours sitting in the waiting room.
@Charla1224 - I'm in a similar boat! LO is only 1/2-1 inch up in there. DH and I stopped DTD a few weeks ago because it was pretty blatent to both of us what he was knocking against. My OB keeps forgetting how low he is, and accidentally jabs LO in the head with each cervix check.
My OB is very pleased with his location because it'll make L&D go that much easier, since he doesn't have very far at all to go!
In terms of the differences between those items, all I know is that contractions are supposedly easy to time, with definite starts/stoos, and that it's pretty difficult to breathe normally through them.
@Charla1224 this might be an obnoxious answer but I was also worried that I wouldn't know when I was having a real contraction. And then I started having contractions and realized they'd be very hard to miss. They're much stronger and last much longer than lightning crotch, and they come in specific intervals. You won't miss it!!
so I thought my water may have broken last night when I got up to go to the bathroom I couldn't stop it and it was super warm but I don't know if it was just pee .. normally I have try to pee in the middle of the night everytime I get up and this just started flowing and seemed like a lot. I did the whole laying down thing but I haven't really leaked anything since then. I also had some slimy stuff after I wiped when I was done and I've already lost my plug. any thoughts ? I'm going to call my ob and see what she says.

Sounds gross but did you smell it? Did it smell like pee or sweet? If it was sweet it could be your water.
@yogahhYes, but I have been smelling a sweet smell already that I had assumed was from my plug.
I don't think there is a smell associated with the plug? Definitely call your dr asap! If your eater had been leaking it's important to get to the hospital. Hoping its it for you!!
I'd say if you aren't still leaking it was either pee or extra discharge. I've noticed over the past week my bladder has been even more squished and I barely make it to the toilet the 3+ times I need to go in the middle of the night.
@LadySamLady thanks. Not obnoxious at all. I feel the same way about the mucus plug now that I've lost mine. There's no denying what that is once you see it.
@proudparent2b thanks for your response too. Now I don't feel alone. Feeling her head was weird as shit. I'm paranoid because she's so low and so close. Now that I'm conscious of it I can feel her head in my vagina when I just stand. I'm hoping it'll make for a quicker labor.
@Merciel I got to a point pretty quickly when I was crying to my husband that I could not do this with the contractions. I have never in my life been more excited for someone to stick a giant needle in me. After that, everything was fine. I just felt a little pressure from contractions, but after experiencing the pain of it without medicine, it was nothing. I am in absolute awe of those of you who can do it all natural.
@Charla1224 - I thought the same thing Wednesday night. 12 hours later my water broke while yelling at my dog for unstuffing his bed.
Fourth pregnancy and last night is the first time I had contractions that were actually painful enough to keep me from sleeping. I still think my body is trying to fake me out but yay for something that none of my other pregnancies did.
This may be TMI but it is a serious question. Has anyone else woken up with their underwear very moist to the point that you can't tell if you are sweating, peeing a little, or if it's amniotic fluid?? The last two nights have been like that. And I just woke up from a nap and it's the same thing. Feeling very swampy. lol!!

I went natural and during transition I was SCREAMING for an epidural. I even grabbed my purse because I thought eventually I could convince someone to take me to the hospital. That feeling didn't go away until 10 hours later when the midwife asked me to feel my babies head. I remember thinking "well, I probably can't get into the car and go to the hospital now. Just gotta get this kid out!"

Yes, and til this day, I have no idea if I'm leaking or what. No smell nothing. Doctor didn't seem concerned. Being pregnant is just wet.

I wore a panty liner/thin pad from about 35 weeks until delivery. I had a general "swampy" feeling and then once I got closer and was having weekly appointments/checks I became very mucus-y.
So, Saturday AM was diarrhea, lost chunk of plug, then all stalled out until last night the diarrhea got reaaally bad, like I was no longer sure for a period there if I was having contractions or it was digestive pain. But, it calmed down, I went to bed...woke up to some intense BH every couple of hours, but nothing progressive/timeable yet. Sigh.
I'm really emotional today. I'm just...sad. Not about still being pregnant, though. My due date is Thursday; I can deal. Just, I guess, hormones. I'm just really weepy.
I gave in and got a pregnancy support belt, the cheapest one on Amazon. Issues with my pelvis aren't gone, but it's actually helping a lot! Now if only I didn't gestate like an elephant......
My hormones are all over the place I've been feeling so sad and blah one day and full of energy the next .. and then I want to cry it's insane @saladflambe
All right so as of last week I was 1.5 cm dilated and that was during the cervical check after which the full day I was crampy and cranky and my back was hurting and I was spotting. The next two days after that, I had very minimal contractions.
Today I woke up with back pain, nausea, and a strong urge to go to the bathroom big time - which I did My little one is moving around in there and I'm just wondering and waiting. Sometimes I think I don't know what contractions really should feel like so I'm just waiting until I get hit by a really debilitating one before I press the panic button.
I have been steadily losing small chunks of my MP (nothing blood tinged, only yellowish) for about a week now. LO is really active, and I keep getting jabbed in the ribs today. I was having cramps and irregular contractions about a week ago, but nothing since then. At my OB appointment last week, my doctor said LO was sitting really low, but I can't see where he's visibly dropped. My cervix had softened some, but I wasn't dilated at all last week. I'm hoping there's some progress by my next appointment on Wednesday. In the meantime, I've started taking the stairs at work and eating all the pineapple I can - good thing it's my favorite food!
I'm in limbo. I cannot tell if what I'm experiencing are contractions or just her just shifting to one side for periods of time and making everything feel super tight. I just keep telling myself "if it's labor, it'll become obvious," but gosh patience is not something I'm very good at....
@saladflambe yep, that's how I feel. Everything will feel tight (not painful) but it would be easy to convince me that LO is just shifting/stretching. I have also joined the "maybe I just need to use the bathroom?" club. Whenever the doctor asks if I have been having contractions I always answer "No?"
Can you be in early labor for days? Is that a thing? I feel like it should be a thing.....I've been having contractions, 2-3 an hour give or take for 3 days straight. I'm going freaking insane. Why is my body taunting me?!?
@Katie122491 I think yes because that's what I've been going through as well as visiting my doctor. So it is a thing. It happens. We just have to ride the waiting wave at this point.

Yes it's called prodromal labor and it happened to me with DS. So lame.
@Dasha420 I'm glad it's not just me! Even being a STM, this is so new to me. With DS I had no Braxton hicks, no false labor, no signs of anything until I had my first contraction just before lunch one day. He was born at 9:47 that night. This time I've had Braxton hicks for months, prodromal labor every few days for 3 weeks now, and now 3 days/nights of contractions without any change. I'm honestly not sure I'm going to believe I'm in labor when it finally does happen.

Ditto. I also answer "No?" To the question of "Are you feeling pressure down low?"
The other day I thought my water broke (I'm 38 weeks) and I got super excited! Turns out I just pissed myself. Then, yesterday after helping with some of the renovation, I sat down, sneezed and peed myself a little. Other than the complete reversion to a toddler and severe lower back aches I have had no impending labor signs. However, I think it's blatantly obvious that my body is no longer large enough for the two of us...one of us needs to go. And just a heads up- LO, it won't be me!

like pee or sweet? If it was sweet it could be your water.
