Turns out I was for sure getting some contractions last night along with the heartburn as I had some blood during my bathroom visits last night. Also had an ob appointment and got a cervical check as well as my gbs test...yeah. Please add me to the "cervical checks are horribly horribly painful" brigade.
@arj14 !!! I know!!! I had two in the past four days and holy .....
During the first one I actually screamed out loud and during the second one I decided I will get an epidural. My deciding moment - all I had to do was get fingered by a doc and I knew I would rather get a needle stuck in my back.
Yesterday was the first time I had contractions that happened while laying down and standing up....up until then they only came when I was sitting down. I even had a couple of them wake me up overnight.
Anything out out of the ordinary is noteworthy these days :-)
@itsbrookejones it could be early labor. I'm going through the same thing. It is very dull cramping, back pain, and nausea. I was reading about it and it said that's early labor and I'm dilating but once I get to 3 cm that's when active labor is going to start. Full blown contractions.
***Disclaimer- I am not a doctor or trained medical professional. Just came across info that seems to match my situation and thought to pass it along. Everyone is different and may experience things differently.
I'm coming down with a cold and super cranky about it.
Not even the potentially ambiguous kind of cold where at least I could go "ooh flu-like symptoms, maybe that means labor is coming!" Nope. No nausea or diarrhea here, this is just straight-up tonsil inflammation and sore throat garbage.
booooo
Hopefully it clears up soon, I really do not want to be laboring with a cold on top of everything else.
@proudparent2b@evalynn24 Just repeating what the website said. That's why I mentioned everyone is different. I'll probably be in the same boat as you ladies in the next couple days.
I have been thinking I'll be scared when it's time but waiting for it is making me do just that- wait. No fear here
Edited to say: if it sounds mean- its not my intention
Does anyone else feel different types of contractions?
For me, I'll get some that are really low and crampy, some that are high on my uterus and tight, and some that are my whole belly and take my breath away.

Ughhhh I am so sorry!! I'm just getting over my cold - hoping it's gone before I go into labor too!
So, I'm in labor and have been for about 14-15 hours now. Here was my lovely timeline:
Saturday: lost chunk of mucus plug, diarrhea began Sunday: diarrhea continues Monday: and continues Tuesday: and gets REALLY bad this day. Tuesday around 7PM: mild contractions begin - mostly feel like intense braxton hicks Tuesday at around 10PM: Clear mucus (possibly beginning of bloody show) comes out Wednesday 2:30AM: Definite bloody show, definite contractions for hours now, but haven't been timing Wednesday 2:30-5:30AM: started timing contractions - they last roughly 45-50 seconds occurring every 5-7 minutes Wednesday 8AM: More bloody show/mucus plug Wednesday 8:45AM: midwife appt - pass more plug there - she checks me, I'm 2cm dilated, 90% effaced, baby at -1 station.
So, I've been in early labor now around 14ish hours. Contractions are getting muuuuch more painful now.

I just got back from my weekly OB appointment, and I'm dialated somewhere between 1-2 cm. When my doctor finished the cervical check, she noticed a slight pink discharge and asked if I'd had any spotting. I haven't, so she said it might be the start of my bloody show. It's gotten a little heavier since I got home (to the point I needed a panty liner). I'm not sure whether it's just from the cervical check or the real thing. I'm pretty sore now (kind of cramping), but not real contractions. I'm not sure if this means I have hours, days, or weeks to go. This waiting game is killing me!
@swflJD I have had bloody discharge after both of my cervical checks, which my midwife assured me is normal. My question is- how is the bloody show different? Will I know that's what it is or will it just look like this stuff that comes out after my appointments?

Nope, it was just a glob of conditioner. How it got onto the middle of the bathroom floor, I have no idea.

Of course I stopped stocking the house with saltines and gingerale after 1st trimester, now it is all I want. That, and a nap.
Day 4 of diarrhea
Never ending...

I seriously wish it did though... If so, LO would have arrived around 2 weeks ago.
On the cervix check thread, we came to the decision that cervix status isn't actually a good way to determine when LO will arrive.
