  • I just went and read the June babies born in May thread. I can't believe this comment "my doc cares about me and knows how important it is to have a specific birthday for my child. It is the rest of his life we're talking about. There is NOTHING more important than the date. ". The date of birth is more important to this person than the health of her child?! What??
I was really hoping this was some sort of sarcasm.
  • @adorkablepixie I've been lurking that BMB on and off for a bit (those ladies are hilarious and some of their stuff has gotten through a few sleepless nights) and I'm pretty sure that's just sarcasm. They had another thread awhile back where someone actually said that and was basically pot-stirring the whole time. The user who said it in the thread you're referencing right now is just sarcastically bringing it back up. A few of the other statements in there by other users are also in reference to some of that stuff. If there's one thing that June has in spades, it's snark. It's just hard to tell out of context.

@amberraysofdawn Oh, thank God. I was really worried someone actually felt that way. Plus I guess it's hard for me to tell how someone actually meant something (serious vs. sarcasm) by reading it on the internet especially when I don't know them.

    You guysssssss I have a cold :(

So unfair!! Now I'm torn between wanting baby girl to come out because I'm so uncomfortable & wanting to get better before she arrives.
I hope you get well before your LO arrives!  I'm sort of in the same situation.  I have a sinus infection, and my doctor said I could only take sinus meds for 3-5 days. Today is day 6, so I'm miserable.  DH also has some sort of sinus/allergy sickness going on.  Fortunately, neither of us are contagious, but I still don't want this LO to come when we're both feeling so horrible.  As ready as I am to meet him and no longer be pregnant, I'm hoping he holds out long enough for us to both get well first!
I'm so sorry you're sick too! As if I can't sleep all night as it is, now I can't breathe :( At least I'll make the antibodies so baby doesn't get this nasty bug. Feel better!
  • @dsmith211 Please keep us updated. All the best and hoping it's not something serious!
  • @dsmith211 I hope it's nothing serious.  Sorry to hear about being risked out of the birth center  :/.
  • I'm not working (I was lucky enough to be able to stop at 36 weeks and I'm now 39+1) but it was definitely hard for my boss to let go. At first I got a lot of emails and phone calls but after I stopped responding right away she stopped calling me over ridiculous things (we can't get into the testing center for your class- you're the PRINCIPAL you have access to all the students assign them a test yourself!).
  • My boss has only bothered me to send more updates and pictures of babies, so I'll count myself lucky.

I had a small freak out when my company announced it was being acquired 2 days after my babies were born, so I called my boss just to make sure nothing was changing re: parental leave. He assured me it wasn't and ordered me to get back to taking care of my babies.

I have been routinely deleting all the auto-generated emails in my work inbox so I'll have less shit to wade through when I get back.
That's a great boss. I am on my first day of maternity leave and they are already freaking out.....

  • Moms of boys-- a week in and DS has managed to pee on the wall 3x. I get the put the diaper over it, etc. but he always moves. What do you do to keep this from happening? Should I put some
plastic decor there? I don't want to have to move the dresser out to wipe down pee stains :-)

I haven't personally tried this but I've read putting a baby wipe on their belly before either helps them pee first... or helps them to not pee?? I don't remember exactly. Perhaps put a dry baby wash cloth over them during a diaper change?

I have 3 boys (expecting boy #4) and I still get peed on by all of them lol.

  • So running labs right now. Have to stay 24 hours for monitoring bc BP is not really going down too much and they want to do another urine collection. Depending on what the lab results say I'll either have to go on BP meds and then be induced later at around 40 weeks OR if the results suck I will be induced in the next few days. So for the time being chilling at the hospital being bored.

Not a mom of any boys per se but I have signicantly younger brothers whom diapers I had to change several times. I always grabbed a wipe before opening the diaper and placed it on them as soon as I opened it up. If they did try anything, it went on the wipe and into the dirty diaper, but that was very rare. They also have these cool things called "pee pee tepees"! Just place it over your LO and mess deterred!
    Best of luck Momma!

I will never get used to the feeling of baby hiccups on my butt, from the inside. The only good thing is that I feel like it has to mean that she's still head down, but it's one of the weirdest sensations I've ever had.
I haven't felt hiccups (I'm 39W,1d). I kind of wish I had, just so I could know what they feel like, (Although I know they can sometimes be annoying!)

STMs... Is anyone moving their toddler's car seat to behind the driver and putting the newborn on the passenger side? I was thinking abut doing this but also didn't want to throw DS for a loop.

This is what we are doing, but our daughter's car seat has always been behind the driver seat.

I know I posted yesterday about this, but now the entire June board is exploding with drama....  If you are bored....

I know lmao! I made the mistake of saying something along the lines of " Damn Ya'll are vicious 0.0", you know, as a spectator. They were *ready* to pounce, bruh.

Their level of feisty is through the roof. Honestly glad this board is past that nonsense *eyeroll*

@Myzticsunshine it is unreal! There are at least three boards just going nuts!  I am so glad we are a happy family here! Definitely entertaining to be a spectator though! Part of me also thinks I should find something better to occupy my time but it is too amusing.  Lol!
  • pshhhhh nahhh, where's the fun in all that?

Now that I'm on leave, sadly, it's among some of the few things I can do. Especially with my van in the shop.

It's been about a week now (including the weekend) that I'm waiting for my transmission to be re-built. Even when my vans out I'm going to be so broke that I'll have no choice but to keep occupied by these boards and Netflix. You know, when I'm not trying to entertain a three-nager :p

I've moved DD to behind the passenger and am putting DD2 in the middle. I just fear what I can't see.

  • @vinerie Yeah it's pretty cool to feel, just a little jarring at the same time. Your baby must be good at swallowing properly or something to not get the hiccups!
  • My baby has the hiccups every day. At least like 4 times a day. My dr said it was a good thing because that meant she was practicing how to swallow. But I'd be interested to know if it's something passed on. DH has hiccups everyday too.

  • Doc told me today, "Do some more of what got you into this situation!" since I was disappointed in my measly 2 cm. It made me think, I bet they tell miserably uncomfortable pregnant women at the end of their pregnancies to have lots of sex since after baby comes it will be a long drought for DH!!

My DH told me he was really excited for when I wasn't pregnant anymore so we could have sex again...I had to break it to him that it'll be at least 6 weeks before we can do it again. He seemed pretty disappointed :(

I know! When I had a d&c for a miscarriage last year they told me I could go back to sex after two weeks, but it took at least a month for the soreness to go away. I played through the pain but it certainly wasn't comfortable. I can only imagine what it'll be like post baby.

@AliciaD39 you could also open the diaper, blow cold air and close it again. Wait a few seconds to let him pee and then change. I never mastered any technique lol so hopefully you do. I hated hanging his diaper...it was like every.single.time!
How do you blow the cold air? With your mouth? Because I can also see how putting your face near that area with an open mouth could end very badly.....
Lol they normally don't pee right away...it's like halfway through and then you panic.

I always had DD on the driver's side, but as I got bigger, and she's still RF, I ended up moving her to the passenger side (so I can lean my fat pregnant ass way back). I'll put LO on the driver's side. I'm a big fan of the mirrors for RF babes!

There is a fb group called Car Seats For The Littles that is extremely helpful for carseat questions too!
