My mother won a contest where she got to go with the VP on a private plane to go visit different markets. She got the call today they want to go Wednesday. I'm having my baby tomorrow. I felt so bad, but she was excited and said they are going to reschedule it for her.
My mother has always sacrificed for her family and now she is being a rockstar in her career. Basically I'm just really proud to be her daughter.
So I totally wanted a nap after church and my fathers birthday dinner with my grandma yesterday, so SO and I told my mom dad and grandma we were leaving because I was tired and needed a nap, my mother tells me naps are overrated and I have more things to worry about than sleeping! I was so annoyed, I snapped at her and said well maybe if I were sick my whole pregnancy I would get some understanding or sympathy. I said this because they are always talking about my sister who is pregnant with her 4th and has been sick every pregnancy and my mom is always talking about how she just needs rest and drives to help her out twice a month, but I even mention needing a nap (I only have 3 wks left) and its poo pooed! Drives me nuts and so she then said she had 4 kids of her own and knows what it's like to be pregnant! I love my mom to death but I was seriously mad she hasn't been pregnant in over 24 years I think she forgets... Sorry for this long rant but it really irritates me!
I just scored jackpot and saw that MTV Live is showing the Backstreet Boys/NKOTB tour. I was about to get up and pour a glass of wine. I love those random split seconds where I forget I'm pregnant.
The NKOTB members are so much hotter than Backstreet Boys.
@tgortney PLEASE NO!!! Saving GoT for my maternity leave, please please please don't make me have to cover my eyes when I'm bumping to try to avoid spoilers!! Just had this huge battle at work and finally got people to agree no spoilers/talking about GoT!
ETA: Or at least start a separate thread so it's easy to avoid rather than being mixed in with everything else

Does anyone else bawl like a baby every time they hear Piece By Piece by Kelly Clarkson? Maybe it is how my childhood went, but I cry every time! And I can't turn it off! lol
Am I the only person in the world who hates GOT? Hubby is currently watching and I couldn't stand it so I left. I feel bad, but I really cannot get into that show!

MAYBE
It's literally the only show I keep up with, otherwise, I don't watch TV. I actually didn't even binge watch it. I watched every episode season by season like some barbarian
@vinerie I haven't even thought about watching it. Since we have a toddler we pretty much stick to comedies (Big Bang Theory, Life in Pieces, and the Goldbergs) because you can miss a few minutes and be ok.

I watched the first episode and wasn't into it. I'm kind of weakling when it comes to gratuitous violence and have never been huge into that whole genre...so you're not alone- there are officially two of us who don't care about GOT.
A couple we know just gave birth today, it sparked DH's anxiousness and now he's totally ready for LO to come any day now. He told me before bed to wake him up when our son is coming. I'm only 38w2d, slow your roll mister! Doesn't help that LO was super active tonight, the most he's ever been. So it made DH very hopeful it was so cute.
Today as I was walking into my appointment a girl I kinda know was walking out. I mostly know her mom. I haven't seen this girl since June last year. I like this girl just fine and all but I kind of avoid her because her mother and the mother's 5 year old son are just too much. Anyways, her mom gave her my number and she calls me just now to see if I can watch her 16 month old tomorrow for 5-6 hours. I've never watched her kid before and have only seem him a total of maybe 3 times. So I told her I was busy. I honestly don't care to watch other peoples kids unless they are good friends of mine.

LOVE those shows
Been married since 2009. Unicornuate Uterus (yes I menstruate glitter) Several MCs DD born 2013 (our miracle "you can't have babies" baby!)
I am loving all the new posts on our birth thread.... Especially when I recognize the name! yay for all the new April and May babies!
I keep thinking wow we're not going to have anyone left in actual May to have babies...Then I realize it's the 25th...And THEN I realize I'm having a baby next week....!!!!!

@doozer1345 Don't worry - some of us aren't due until the last week of May... and I'm thinking this thing probably won't come out until June! Half of me feels like you all are cheating by having your babies so much earlier than me, but the other half is grateful to get a good preview of what's to come!
I know my efforts have been sad for a while. I finally made my last visit to the waxing salon this afternoon (well, I guess it was yesterday afternoon, now). God only knows how that whole area is going to look by the time I go back.

Hate might be too strong a word, but I have zero interest! Fortunately hubby could care less and we don't have cable, much less HBO, so I don't have to leave the room

We don't have cable or HBO, either. We've got Apple TV and I use my parents' password like a total mooch. We watch movies on HBO, but it's times like these that I wish we didn't have it.
For me, I dislike the whole "fantasy" genre. Dragons, swords, three-eyed crows...ugh! Give me Parks &Rec or Orange is the New Black over GOT any day!

@Merciel I feel like the pain would send me into full on labor ouch!

im not a "fan" of GoT but husband is. When we dated I binge watched the first 2 (or 3) seasons in prep for the next premier. I knew how much he loved the show and thought that would give us some bonding time every Sunday night. I'm also not a fan of the fantasy genre (I don't like Harry Potter.., gasp) but some of the characters and their story lines have grown on me.
I don't watch GOT either, I like fantasy but not the extreme violence. Violence is also why I don't watch shows like the Walking Dead... but I do like Daredevil and Jessica Jones. I just look away at the bad parts.
I waver on GOT. I'll watch it little by little because I do like fantasy as a genre and some of the characters, but I'm not a fan of gratuitous violence & nudity/sexual violence which the series has quite a bit of depending on the episode.

I also dislike Harry Potter!! DH just listened to all the audio books and got realllly into it. Like, he would cook dinner and play the audio book instead of music. Ugh, it was like nails on a chalkboard for me. He finished the books about a week ago and I was so relieved!
@kbrands7 I think the first couple of seasons were worse with gratuitous nudity. Boardwalk Empire was the same way. I don't know if HBO does that to lure in male viewers and get people talking then tone it down or what. Now it seems we only see boobs once per episode and there is some context to the nudity compared to 20+ times of random hot girl boobs in the earlier seasons.

This. It made it so hard to get into in the beginning. Even DH said it was a bit much. LOL. I can deal with what is shown now though.

**GASP** You guys don't like GoT OR Harry Potter. This makes me very sad.
