Question for STM+ moms: how many of you bought a glider and then barely used it, and how many basically lived in yours? I'm thinking about shelling out a pretty penny on one that I love, but I'm questioning if it's worth it or not.
I bought one that my husband thought was ridiculously priced because he thought we wouldn't use it. We used it all. the. time. I slept in it many times while DS was sick. We still use it to read to DS every single night. IMO, they are totally worth it.

I adore our glider. My mom bought one at walmart, chair and stool for under $200. I was shocked by how awesome it is. 6 years later and it is in my living room. Some one sits in it at least once a day.
Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong about Walmart.... I just am not a fan. Nor do I find their 'furniture ' to be of any quality. I almost avoid that store. But this chair is great.

We got a rocking recliner instead. It was going to go in the nursery but it stayed in the living room because watching tv while nursing and pumping was better than sitting in a dark room trying not to fall asleep. I still live in it. Love it
@benten24 I honestly didn't use it for the first 4 months because dh was in the pack n play in our room and I would nurse in bed. (Sitting up at first). I was worried my mom wasted her money but once he transitioned to his room I would do his night time feedings in there and we still use it for bedtime and if dh wants me to watch him play in his room I'll sit on the stool so I don't have to sit on the floor. It was worth it for us, just don't get discouraged if you don't use it right away.
Because I refuse to be the type to overshare on social media, but I'm way too excited because I have PROOF! I can see/feel the baby (still no kicks just positioning):
It's always on the left in the morning! Anyone else?? Can you see/feel the blob move around your lower abdomen?

Yes, I should have added that ours is a rocket/recliner too. Also, we ordered in a color that matched other furniture in our house so it could transition to another room once we're done using it for babies.
My husband sings this to my stomach ALL THE TIME, @MrsPloehn. I just roll my eyes at him but he doesn't care. Guess we all know who wears the crazy pants in this relationship.
I want to scream with joy and happiness! I stupidly purchased plane tickets to help my sister out with her LO before it was approved from work. My time off has never not been approved, but we lost 2 employees last week, suddenly, and I was told I wasn't approved the time off. There was one coworker who could have helped (without going into overtime), and I wasn't sure she would. She just told me she can! I could kiss her.
But instead, I'm going to kiss these cheeks! AHH! I can't wait!
Any one else hands already swelling? My feet are after I work a 12, so no shock there. But my rings are getting tight. I drink tons of water too.
I have noticed them getting tight also especially at the end of 12 hours, when walking on the treadmill, and often in the middle of the night. Not yet to the point I've had to take them off. Last pregnancy I had such severe swelling that I was sent home from work on sick leave at 8 months, I'm praying that doesn't happen again! You already said your drinking lots, I guess hormones are just a nasty bi**h. I've also already started wearing knee high stockings just to be preventative.
@noelietrex I just a post about this on Facebook her little one always liked one side better and she had a lopsided tummy for awhile and then lo would move haha so cool though. Oh and she said everything turned out fine it was just funny until LO got bigger.
@noelietrex this happened with my first pregnancy but it was a little farther along. This time, I feel a hard spot on the left side but it goes away once I move around. It's not a sweet blob quite yet.
I'm doing okay finding things in my closet that fit my growing belly, but I've always been relatively small chested (small B and totally content), and really took advantage on not needing bras and not filling out low slung tops. I wore one of my favorite wiggle dresses to dinner last night and was appalled to see all of the pictures tagged by friends this morning. I don't mind seeing other people's boobs, but because I've never been 'busty' I'm now really self conscious. It feels like puberty all over again.
@Nerdchild ha it is like puberty acne, sprouting more boobs, growing pains and aches! Feel confident though mama! It just takes a little time to figure these new bodies out it seems
@afrazer521@Lindsayleigh1989 I've been drinking a lot of that MS tea, the angel baby mama whatever brand. Cringeworthy name but it has REALLY helped with the feeling queasy, especially when I'm at work.
@elenabrent is it Earth Mama Angel Baby? They have some awesome products. My sister got me the nipple cream and the baby bottom balm and I loved them both so much. Especially the nipple cream - way way better than lanolin in my opinion.
@PinkLady2015@blissylissy86 I'm almost done with the series and think he is innocent of the murder but still a terrible person.
@katietabor22 this is kind of where I'm at with it too... I don't think he's a good person, but I don't know if he's guilty of the murder. At the very least I do believe that there was evidence planted, whether that was because they thought/knew he was guilty and wanted to make it stick, or whether he was innocent of this crime and it was planted as a conspiracy to put him away I have no idea, but I don't think his investigation and trial were fair.
The person I really feel sick for in that story is the nephew. I hope his case is appealed and he is given a fair trial with ethical and skillful representation.

I'm thinking about shelling out a pretty penny on one that I love, but I'm questioning if it's worth it or not.
LOVED my glider. DH got it for me for my birthday when DD was a few months old and I wish I had had it from the beginning. It was the absolute best for breastfeeding and rocking DD to sleep. I bought one that is pretty and comfortable and we still use it in our living room. One of our best purchases.
I snowshoed for two miles yesterday. Slept like a rock last night. I don't know if it was because I was exhausted from snowshoeing, or the fact that my DD wanted to have a sleepover in her room last night, and I wasn't trying to sleep with DH and the dog in the room. DH is a noisy sleeper, and our new rescue dog is not at the point where we can put him in a kennel in another room at night (he wants to be able to see us). So he is in a kennel in our room, but throughout the night he thinks that it is a good idea to lick himself every 45min or so. Which leads to DH saying "lay down!", or yelling the dogs name, so he stops licking. Between DH, the dog, and getting up to pee...I sleep from 11pm-5:30am and am woken up every 30-45min. Last night, I went to sleep at 9pm, woke up at 2am to pee, and slept until 8:15am this morning. Other than waking to pee, I was asleep the whole time. It was amazing.....
I am thinking of starting a "Saturday night sleepover" thing in my house, and sleeping in her room once a week to catch up on sleep!
For all you making a murderer fans listen to the serial podcast season 1 it's amazing!
I listened to that one a while ago, @Lindsayleigh1989 - so good! Another one where I can't quite say whether I think he was innocent or not, but absolutely believe that there were problems with his trial and he deserves an appeal. I used to listen to them during workouts and sometimes it would encourage another 20 min of cardio so I could listen to a little bit more

****QBF**** Yeah... I don't think he did it either but I don't care nearly as much about him, mostly because he clearly not a good person, but I care way more about the nephew. He is obviously mentally handicapped and was coerced into say what he did. I have a mentally handicapped nephew and it terrifies me that this could happen to anyone... especially someone who doesn't even understand what is going on. It just breaks my heart.
I'm gonna throw out a suggestion here... but can we scale it back on the "everything goes into the random" thread. Some things are actually worth making a new thread... I just combed through like 6 pages here because I remembered we talked about baby carriers (ergo/tula/lille) at some point... obviously the "my ms sucks today" and "I just ate a gallon of skittles" is cool here but feel like we're missing out on some good topics because they're getting swallowed up with the randoms. That is all.
@PinkLady2015 I TOTALLY agree. Random goes in random thread. Baby/mommy related should be searched then posted, IMHO. We've also been really nice lately about posts that should have been searched for.
ETA: not that we should be mean, but we can probably be more clear in our responses.
I agree. I think what's happening is people are concerned about being called out for creating an unnecessary thread or for not using the search function.
A good example of a random would be me trash talking @Lindsayleigh1989 for the Viks loss today, because as we've established, we share a great name, but not my great taste in teams. Packers are looking good today!

My husband and I just started Making a Murderer this morning.
I am thinking of starting a "Saturday night sleepover" thing in my house, and sleeping in her room once a week to catch up on sleep!
Season one is great season two is a little slow so far.
Eta: they are also on Pandora you can listen to it section by section if you create a Serial channel which is nice and it's totally free to
And I'm also a huge serial lover! Season one was amazing, especially because we lived in Baltimore for a long time and knew where everything was.
That is all.
