So I love reading everyone's intros, but as we get farther in to May due dates, more and more people will flood this board every day. Do you think we should have a specific intro thread?
If I get at least 5 Love Tits on this post, I'll edit it to make it a specific intro thread with think the details, symptoms, and other popular threads for reference.
I guess I'll be the first to introduce myself on the introduction thread
Hi! I'm Lisa! Literally just got my BFP...and proceeded to test 2 more times to be sure. All 3 are positive So, I guess this is real!
A bit about me/us: I'm 28, DH is 32, and we've been married since Oct 2013. We began trying for our first child this month and were fortunate enough to get a BFP on our first month.
We live and work in Northern Virginia. DH is a manager at a telecom company, and I am a research analyst with an IT consulting firm. My job allows me to work from home 100% but does include a LOT of travel. This, I'm sure, will be a hurdle in coming months. But, we will do our best. I also foster kitties, and we have 4 cats in the house! My favorite hobby is horseback riding, and I'm super glad that I spent this summer really pushing myself, learning to ride bareback, etc., since I don't want to take that risk now.
I'm 36, as is DH. We have a DD who I lovingly refer to as Chicklet, she turned 3 on July 5 We had been actively trying for #2 for since Jan 2014, but after 2 m/c and so many BFN we decided last month to stop - then surprise! Needless to say I'm beyond ecstatic and nervous. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but that is so hard.
We live in CT along with our other 2 fur-girls, Reese and Molly. Im a SAHM and Chicklet will be starting preschool tomorrow. I thought I would be working on some furniture revamping during my new free time, but it looks like I'll be napping instead since this pregnancy is wiping me out.
I look forward to getting to know you all and wish you all a H&H 9mo!
This should be a sticky. Great idea! Maybe it will cut down on some of the single intro threads.
This is my second time around. DD was a June14 baby and we were wanting our kiddos to be as close to 2 years as possible. Like many others my due is currently April 28, but I am 80% sure that it is actually May 2nd (irregular cycle length history). We will find out more after our first trimester scan. Either way babies rarely come on their due dates anyway, so at this point, I would just prefer to participate in the May board while the community is still being built.
I am 30 and DH and I have been together forever, well I guess for 15 years - married for 9 years. I am more anxious to tell ppl this time around (last time we waited till 14 weeks), but I am still cautious. So far my favorite thing about the second time around...my brain gives me breaks from only thinking about the pregnancy -- last time it literally was ALWAYS on my mind for the ENTIRE 9 months, this time I can go a few hours without even remembering that I am actually pregnant. It is a welcomed break.
I live in Oklahoma and travel as much as I am able to. DD has been a pretty good little traveler and she needs a travel buddy for next summer.
I love having a community of women who are experiencing such a large and wonderful life event together! I prefer an organized board without a lot of unnecessary clutter and duplication, and also offering a kind tone when re-directing new member because we were all new at one time. This intro board is a perfect place for them to start and feel welcomed. Thanks @lala2004!
Hello! I'm Jennie, and I got my first BFP yesterday on my birthday! DH and I had been NTNP for a year and two months ago started to actively TTC. I feel so lucky to have gotten a BFP so soon Happy to be here and learn some stuff!
My due date is May 1st. My DH and I have been married for a little over a year. We have a DS he is 3 1/2 years old. We also have two other boys from my DH's previous marriage. We are praying for a girl but a healthy baby mostly. We feel blessed that God has chosen us to be parents again! I'm happy to talk with other people about pregnancy because we haven't told anyone yet!
I am going to be 38 in a few weeks and my husband is 33. We have been married since May of 2012. We have been trying for 2+ years. We have been through (1) IUI and (3) rounds of IVF. This latest one was a frozen embryo transfer and it worked! This will be our first (and only) child.
We knew that this was going to be our last shot as we were done both mentally and financially with the fertility treatments. I am incredibly thankful that we are now 5 weeks along.
We live in the NW burbs of Chicago (about 45 mins outside of the city) with our adorable little black cat. I work in credit and my husband is a firefighter/paramedic.
Because I am under my fertility doctor's care for the next month or so, my first ultrasound is this friday and I will continue to have them weekly. My due date looks to be May 2, 2016 (3 days before our 4 anniversary).
Looking forward to getting to know everyone and sharing our experiences!
Hi everyone!!! My dh and I are both 30 and will be married 5 years this November. We have a 2 1/2 son, Dominic. He shares the same birthday with dh! We also have a French bulldog named Leo and he is so amazing with Dominic even though he tortures him. I teach 4th grade and I'm getting ready for the new school year. My EDD is May 15th which is awesome because then I will be off from work until September . I hope we can be team green this time around but my will power is lacking

I also work at a school so I am super pumped about the extra long maternity leave too! Welcome and congrats!
My DH and I have been married for almost three years. We have two huge fur babies, a chocolate lab named Lego(DS names him) and a black German shepherd named Radar (Due to the astounding size of his ears). This baby will be our third. We have two boys one is 6 (Monkey) the other is 7 months (Peanut). Yes seven months...needless to say when I saw the two pink lines I panicked...just a little bit. EDD IS May 1st. Pretty confident about that date because I remember telling my husband, you shouldn't have done that...I'm ovulating. Lol. I'm getting more and more excited as each day passes. We are hoping for a girl but another boy would be just fine too! First ultrasound is scheduled for September 17th
I'm 27, DH is 31 and this will be our first baby! We have been married for almost 9 months, together for almost 4. We have a furbaby that we inherited, Skipper... and he is the joy of my life. My EDD is 5/4/15. I know when I ovulated so I'm going by that date. We weren't even trying this month. I had been tracking my O dates as per my ob/gyn recommendations ... we DTD 2 days before my ovulation without any increase of the LH surge on my wondfos... and then on CD 19 (2 days later) I got that smiley face on my clear blue stick! I didn't think much about it though... I really thought we were going to have a hard time getting pregnant!
I'm so excited and just trying to remain positive throughout this first trimester. We get to see our little blobster on Sept. 25... only 24 more days!!!!!
I'm Jessica! I got a faint BFP yesterday but didn't believe it. Got another (darker) one this morning! I'll be telling DH when he gets home and I'm SO excited!
We live in Indiana and have a 2yo DD. DH has been wanting another LO since we had DD but I didn't want them to be too close together.
Fun Fact: I got this BFP on exactly the same day 3 years after my BFP with DD. They will have the same due date within a couple days of each other! I was induced 3 weeks early with DD though, so they hopefully will not have the same birthday. :x
Hello! My name is Liz and I am so happy to be here. My edd is May 3rd. I have a 3 and 1/2 year old daughter and a one year old daughter. My husband and I have been married for 4 years and we live in Williamsburg, Va. This will be our last baby, so I am soaking it all in and trying to relish every moment even the ones I feel sick. I have my first appt next week and I am looking forward to that.
I will post my intro here too.
Both my husband and I are 32. We've been together 4 1/2 years and married a year this past May. Last year we got married, moved out of state and bought our first house together. He's in the Air Force so moving is kind of our thing.
We knew once we moved that we wanted to start trying for a family. We were lucky to get pregnant the first cycle we tried. This past September we found out we were expecting our first baby, our son. I had a very blissful and happy 9+ months. My water broke at 39+2 and labor and delivery went great. When my son was born at 39+3 there was meconium present. There was no indication prior to that because his head must have been blocking all the bad fluid from coming out during labor. There were no signs of distress. We were all shocked. Meconium is somewhat common and the outcome is usually good. They sent our son to the NICU and he spent 3 days trying hard to get better. We were told he would get better. The hospital decided they wanted to send him to Children's for a possibility of being on a machine they didn't have. So, they sent him up to the hospital in the middle of the night. He was in stable condition when he left so they told us everything was fine and we could see him at Children's in the morning. We got a phone call from Children's a few hours later saying our son had coded and they wanted permission to stop resuscitating him. We weren't expecting that at all. They didn't call us to let us know what had happened. So, that news completely blindsided us. That was this past May so it's only been 3 months.
We got the go ahead from our doctor to start trying so we started trying this cycle...and here we are again. 4+1 so EDD of May 9...10 days before our son's birthday. I know this time around they will watch me more closely to make sure that doesn't happen again. Either what happened to our son is so rare (and almost impossible that history would repeat itself) or the hospital messed something up when he got there (they were replacing tubes when he coded). We are still waiting on official reports.
Either way, we are excited! We are nervous. I'm going to have some crazy emotions this time around since the innocence is now gone for me. I am definitely excited to be here and share our journeys together.
*edited to add*...we also have two yorkies. They are my babies. I can't believe I left them out of my intro the first time.
My name is Allison and I have been married for 1 year on September 5th. We just started ttc last month and found out we got a bfp a week and a half ago. This is our first, and we are so excited!! We have two furbabies, my older pups Holly and Misty. We just bought a house in July as well. I'm 5 weeks 2 days today with an edd of May 1st but I get my first ultrasound to confirm due date on Sept. 12th :x
My name is Sarah, I'm 28, and my husband and I live in upstate New York and will be married three years in December. We have a daughter, Scarlett, who is 15 months old. We had been talking about maybe having another one this year or the year after...but after a couple drinks on vacation in Cape Cod...BFP today! Baby #2's due date is May 10th. This is actually great timing for me because I am in between teaching positions and decided to take this year off from teaching to be home with my daughter more. I wait tables 3-4 nights a week right now.
I am also looking forward to getting to know everyone! Congratulations all!
@hawksfan82 - I am so incredibly sorry for your loss, I cannot imagine the pain you and your husband went through such a short time ago. You are an amazingly strong woman to be ready for another baby and you have such a positive outlook. I truly wish you all the best!!
My son was born this past February in hauntingly similar circumstances. The difference was he DID show signs of distress during labor so the OB immediately did a c-section. DS came out absolutely covered in meconium and spent 6 days in the NICU after he had some breathing issues. He's a healthy 6 month old now but stories like yours remind me of what could have been. I'm not one for praying, but I'm praying for a happier outcome for you this time around.
Hi I'm Rebecca got my BFP last night due 5/11. My husband and I have been married 5 1/2 years and we have two year old twins! May is our month we got married in May had our twins in May and now baby #3 is due in May! I currently work full time as does my hubby. Looking forward to getting to know everyone

Hi! I'm Michelle, 35, and from Texas. I just got my positive today and I'm trying to be optimistic about this pregnancy after miscarrying in February. I have a 20 month old daughter, Claire, and I'm a stay at home mom. Fortunately my daughter starts MDO next week so I'll get a break 2 days a week while she's at school. The timing of this pregnancy worked well for me!
Thank you, ladies! We both knew almost right away that we wanted to start trying as soon as we could. I know our son wouldn't want us to wait a long time for a brother or sister. It's been quite the journey so far. I'm just thankful for my son, thankful for this pregnancy, and will hope for another happy and healthy 9 months. I keep telling myself this is a new baby, a new life, and a new day...and I'm going to make the most of the time I have with this baby (who hopefully grows to be healthy and outlives me). I know as time goes on, I'm going to be nervous. Bear with me, ladies for whatever emotions I throw your way.
My name is Megan and I'm 24! DH and I have known each other for 22 years and we got married on Nov. 7th 2014. I have an 8 year old daughter from a previous relationship and we have a 10 month old daughter so this time around we are hoping for boy although a girl would be fine too!
I haven't been to the doctors yet but I'm expecting the DD to be about May 10th. I'm super excited. We also have 2 dogs and 3 cats. I took a Test 3 days before my missed period because We were going on a trip and it came up negative so I thought ok we can have fun on our trip, I took another test this morning because now I'm a day late and it was positive! I'm a little worried because we flew and I went through those scanners at the airport but hopefully everything will be okay!
I'm sorry for anyone who has lost a child and I hope you can find comfort here with the other mommas!
P.S I haven't told DH about the positive test yet since he is at work but I took one of our daughters onesies and wrote. "I'm gonna be a big sister" on it since he puts her to bed at night, can't wait to see his face!!!!
I was on the October 2014 board with my second and it was an alright board. I wasn't there from the start like I will be for this LO so I missed so much and a bond was already created between other members. So I will ask that when we get new people even in April please make them feel welcomed!!!
Hi! I'm Lauren, I'm 33 and DH is 37. We have a nearly 18 month old little boy and a very lazy beagle and live in NYC. DH and I have been together for almost 10 years, married for 5 in October.
DS was born on our dating anniversary in March 2014, three days before his due date. We are so excited that he will have a little buddy and they'll be close in age. I'm starting to realize that the worry and fear doesn't go away the second time around, but I'm excited to have a group of other women to share the excitement, fears, and all the fun and not so fun stuff that comes with pregnancy. Glad to participate this time since I wasn't really active last time, looking forward to getting to know everyone!
@hawksfan82 You're an amazing person to have such a positive outlook after experiencing such tragedy. Praying for a healthy 9 months and a healthy baby for you.
So I realized I never really introduced myself here, I just kind of showed up since I was one of the first to start posting here since I have an early May due date (the 3rd) and had an early BFP (10DPO).
My name is also Lauren, @bltbear82 . I just turned 29 on Friday, DH is 28. We've been married for about 2 1/2 years. I teach 6th grade Social Studies, and I'm really interested to see how my current and former students react when they find out I'm expecting! I've wanted to be a mom all my life, but we've been waiting for the right time. Hopefully this is it ;-)
@Bumpadmin could we pretty please pin this thread? Thank you.
Hello Ladies! I'm so excited to be here! I have an EDD of May 3. My husband and I have been married for 5 years. We have two daughters. One who will be 2 in September and one who will be 4 in December. This will be our final baby, so I'm trying to soak in everything about it! I have been a teacher for 13 years. I look forward to getting to know you all. Prayers for happy, healthy 9 month journeys and healthy babies!
@hawksfan82 I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your story. While reading your post I was struck by your strength and positivity, it really is admirable. Wishing you (and everyone) a happy and healthy pregnancy and happily ever after!
Hi everyone! My name is Joy. DH and I have been married just over a year. We decided to start TTC this past month. I was so convinced I wasn't pregnant that I took test before heading work (at 5:30am) because really wanted my morning coffee. Surprise! BFP! I was so shocked that I took another and it was positive too. Then I had to get through my whole 12 hour shift (I'm an ICU nurse) before coming home tell my DH. His face was priceless. I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow amd mt due date should be May 4. My first appointment is on Sept 9. This will our first. So excited! Glad meet you all and have a place share as well as hear your stories!
@lalala2004 I was the school nurse and drama director at a high school when I found out I was pregnant with my first and the boys were more interested than the girls! The reactions ranged from weird, awkward stares to incredibly inquisitive inquiries. As my bump got bigger it seemed we couldn't get through a rehearsal or a school day without at least one slightly inappropriate question! There was one junior boy who would quietly get me water or, if I was standing a lot, slyly push a chair behind me etc. I joked that he is going to be the best husband ever. Of course, come to find out, he is finishing up nursing school!
So basically, be prepared for a myriad of reactions. One parent even got upset, like "How could you do this? You know my child has (insert medical condition)!" People can be weird, but also awesome.
Hi everyone! I'm Kelley from Austin and I'm so happy to be here! My husband and I have been married for five years this November - he's 42 and I just turned 40. This is my second marriage and I've tried off and on for a baby for the past nine years with both. After several early miscarriages and a missed m/c at 12 weeks a few years ago, we're really happy and I'm very cautiously excited. This one feels a lot different than the other ones so far and I'm trying to stay positive.
H and I have been trying hardcore for the past year (temping and charting and O tests and Fairhaven Health fertility supplements) and right after I turned 40 in July I started to really panic that having a baby wasn't going to happen - I gave myself til the end of this year due to my age and how many times I've tried over the years. I made an appointment with a new obgyn in July to discuss very early stage/basic fertility options even though I always told myself I didn't want to go that route and I'd accept whatever happened. I was supposed to begin my first month of blood tests and have a test to see if I had any blockages, and lo and behold I got a positive before I could even get my blood tested! I still can't believe it. Estimated delivery is May 4.
I manage event planning for a consulting firm - I work full-time from home and travel occasionally. My H is in business development. We love dining out and trying new places, cooking, house music, fitness and health, and hiking around Austin, where we've lived for the past year. My pre-Austin life was in Chicago (in the city). I really hope everyone here has a perfect, wonderful, happy-filled and uneventful next nine months.
@hawksfan82 - like everyone else, I want to thank you for being so open - you're an example of strength and positivity for everyone. Much love to you and your husband.
Hi Ladies! My name is Rachel, from Iowa City, IA (Go Hawkeyes!). I am 32 and DH is 37. We have been together for almost 12 years, married for 8 in October (crazy!). I currently stay at home with my DD, who was born on 11/11/11 (at 2:34am no less!) and she is my joy. DH works in IT.
We have been actively trying since the beginning of this year. I had a m/c on Memorial Day and I'm still in shock that I got pregnant my first cycle after. We are excited but very cautiously optimistic. We told many people soon after we found out I was pregnant last time, but this time we plan on waiting a little while.
Good luck to everyone here! I look forward to getting to know you ladies better over the coming months. :-)
Hi Everyone My name is Nicole and I'm 28 and DH is 34 and I live in Australia... we have been together for 6 and a half years married for 3 and a half, we have been TTC since our belated honeymoon in July this year and I was a little shocked to discover my BFP so quickly.. this is my very first pregnancy EDD 3rd May.. We have a chocolate Labrador (Cadbury) who is very cute and a little more clingy than I'd like in recent times..
Good luck everyone.. can't wait to get to know you all better over the coming months

So basically, be prepared for a myriad of reactions. One parent even got upset, like "How could you do this? You know my child has (insert medical condition)!" People can be weird, but also awesome.
