  • @klkonwi !!! Thanks for the tip!
  • @mellymar I know you didn't, just making the point that as different as we are, we both want the same things in this cruel world. Just goes to show that people from all walks of life can find some common ground. I think your positive attitude is awesome!
  • Been on hold with Macy's for 17 minutes. Baby is due to wake up any minute. If their payment system worked correctly then I wouldn't have to waste their time and mine.

Ooooooohhhhhh I've had fights with Macy's before! Get em!
  • Thanks ladies! I didn't mean to make this a "woe is me" thing. At all. Or to be a special snowflake about things.

I do actually sit in the back with him all the time now, and he's definitely getting better... Not good, but a little better.

LO has ridden East Coast to Midwest and back already (9 hour rides that take 12 hours with him). It's awful, but what can ya do.

PS, another business idea: Google Maps, Baby Edition. It gives you directions, per normal, but you plug in some basic stats about your baby (age, how often s/he feeds, nap schedule, etc), and it tells you where the best places are to stop along the way, and gives you an adjusted estimated travel time.

I almost woke my DH up to tell him about google maps for baby..then read business idea ha!! I was like we needed this yesterday. Luckily he was awesome the 5 hours in the car.
  • The baby would be asleep right now if it weren't for my effing hiccups.
  • OMG isn't it 2015?! Why is the Kirby vacuum company coming to my door all the time? And no, I'm not stupid enough to let you give me a "free" carpet cleaning so you can convince me to buy a several thousand dollar vacuum. hi, I have the Internet. If I really want a fancy vacuum I'm going to do the research, not write a check to some rando on my front porch. At least this one didn't ask me if my mom was home. (Baby face problems.)

I am so tired. Last night was so awful and my older kids and now door to door salesmen are conspiring to ruin my nap. Why is my 2 month old the easiest person in my life?

    Ok but Kirbys are AMAZING

  • My neighbors - the Jones's, who I have a annoyance relationship with, have added onto their partial fences that block their views of us and of the people behind them, but do not encompass their whole yard. Just build a fence that surrounds your yard. 1) it's obvious you do it just to avoid seeing us when you are on your patio and it's insulting. And 2) then your kid's dog won't be able to come into my yard and bother my cat thru our screen door, or run amok thru our and neighboring yards just generally being an asshole dog. And you guys being asshole neighbors by not controlling said dog.

    Just build a whole fence.

Ohhh man that would bother me so much. Obviously haven't seen it but I can assume their incomplete fencing looks dumb so at least you have that..
  • @carajeanp37 yeah its nice looking fence, nice wood and built well, but its also extremely obvious to ANYBODY looking that they did it just to block views from the their patio, and thus just makes them look like assholes. Anyone new to the 'hood would take one look and know that those people are snobbish. The whole 'hood is almost park-like, they're really setting themselves apart in a bad way by doing this. A full fence would be better, but would still earn the ire of other houses around here, I think. Nobody has fences

I'm attaching two pics, the first is of the fences - 'our' fence is in the foreground and the fence they put up between them and the people behind them is in the background. The second pic is just our backyard ('our' fence is off screen to the left, the two trees on the right of the 1st pic are the same trees on the left of the second) looking back at our behind neighbors. Their yard doesn't start until beyond the swing (you can see their dog under the A frame of the swing, the dog is about 5 feet away from the edge of their yard). You can see how open it is, and how nice it looks to have it open like that. So yeah, these people who put up these partial fences look like jerks for disrupting the 'feel' of the neighborhood

  • I have a depression gripe. Or a few.
DH went out of town Freaking AGAIN and this wasn't a planned job. I'm annoyed..... But mostly sad. I also just read an article about a baby dying in a hot car and I pray I don't forget mine ever...... Ugh definitely have the feels and feel like bawling..
  • I've been gone for months, but I'm back. Maybe for good. It's way too early to test, but I FEEL pregnant again :-S the first wasn't planned (and wasn't ever supposed to be here) and this one certainly wouldn't be either. Stressed :((

For some reason my dad feels the need to tell me everytime he hears about a child dying and how it happened even though he knows I avoid these kind of articles because they only cause me anxiety to the point that I can't sleep for my worry something might happen to LO.

Ugh. I'm on my commuter train and the guy who sat next to me reeks of cigarettes. There is actually an empty seat between us and it's still so strong it's making me feel ill. I grew up with smokers, but this is above and beyond.

I wanted to move seats, but I've been on the train since an early stop and have a great seat - and why SHOULD I have to move? And what would I even say if I asked him to get up?

I'm really annoyed and nauseated. Bah.

I've missed a pill or two and have taken them relatively sporadically. Ugh...
  • ^^ very well said.
  • nuvaring is a great choice for ppl who can't remember to take a pill. I used to love it. I chose mirena for after delivery. Yep.... Big time forgetful person here.
  • I took the pill for 10 years and I can count on one hand the times I forgot to take one. I was diligent and it clearly worked well. But I knew I couldn't lie to myself and think I could take it as I should now. I can barely remember if I've brushed my teeth in the past 24 hours.
TTC: 1/2014 BFP: 9/24 EDD: 6/8/2015 Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
  • ^^^this! Two of my coworker friends (who have kids) text me past 10 allllll the time. To top it off, we are teachers. I get up by 5:30 during the school year. I usually turn my phone off at night, but if I don't, I just ignore it til the morning. Ain't nobody got time for that.
  • had a dream the roommate did his dishes that are overflowing from the sink to the counters.
lets just say i woke up quite disappointed.
  • I don't like when LO has someone elses smell on her either. That means a bath that night to wash their stank off. I guess I'll just have to deal when she starts daycare since I don't want to bathe her every night (just for the sake of trying not to dry her skin out, etc).

I don't mind it usually, but my MIL wears way too much perfume and I can't stand the smell of it. When LO is with her, it is automatically a bath night.

  • Today I got LO up and out of the house to go to a baby and me yoga class that I was SUPER excited about! Well...the instructor pulled a no show. GRR
  • @upandbelow I'd be so angry! Don't they know how hard it is to get out of the house at a set time??
  • @upandbelow that sucks! I've been to a mama & baby yoga class once and want to go back. LO enjoyed it and it was a great workout. Could be because we used the baby as a weight and mine was 16 lbs at the time...
  • We're in Maine this weekend to visit DH's cousin, who he's super close to, and we love. Getting here with LO who hates the car was a nightmare... And we knew she didn't like babies, but thought she'd be polite about OUR baby. Yeah, no. Homegirl hates. babies.

I feel so awkward! She's super grossed out by his spit up and drool, and has barely even looked at the kid. Which is totally fine, but... Yeah, this is a really awkward weekend, sadly.

Someone posts how to clean a 2X1 plastic container after cleaning with soap and water and rinsing with hot water ..

Sheesh, I get it...stupid question. Guess we still need a fffq thread :\">
Didn't mean it as stupid.. Just as all the things we think about and worry about as a mom
  • ^^my gripe is there are really a very small handful of Bump issues that they'd need to work on (from what I've experienced and seen posted here). So I don't get why their app designers wouldn't just Make It Work?!

Seems like their IT is often problematic. I thought for-profits did better on that front. At my NGO an IT person once told me I had to make sure all three prongs were plugged into the wall. Ummm... Yeah... Thanks, dude. Now if you could come fix my computer, that'd be awesome.
