  • My husband is gone for for the weekend to attend a wedding. Ok, fine, I said go so I can't really be pissed now. However, he just informed me he that his flight isn't until late on Sunday so he could meet up with some other friends after the wedding brunch. How dare he attend the wedding brunch let alone go hang out with friends and just assume it's ok and that I will take care of the baby all weekend while he has fun. I just assumed he would be leaving early on Sunday morning since that is what I would have absolutely done. Then he tells me he will have to work late most of next week since he wont be able to catch up over the weekend. Stabby.

    Noooo not even ok.

DH is going to a wedding next Friday and he called in his mom to drive up to help me because he knows otherwise he would be catching hell from me.
  • I'm currently sitting at urgent care because my dumb ass twisted my ankle and fell off the sidewalk today. Didn't think it was that bad and walked around Target and Kroger before going home. Then washed bottles and walked up and down the stairs doing laundry. Finally started hurting so bad I couldn't bear weight on it. Elevated it, put ice on it, and took an ibuprofen. It hurts like mad all down the side of my foot. DH had to carry me to the car and the in laws have LO. How am I going to take care of a 2 month old with a bum foot/ankle?
  • @KarasTwin oh no! I hope a night of rest will heal your ankle!
TTC: 1/2014 BFP: 9/24 EDD: 6/8/2015 Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
  • It's cracked down the side of my foot. Rest, ice, compression, elevation. I've never broken a bone in my life. Now I have had a c section and a cracked foot in 2 months. They're going to wrap it and give me crutches and I have to follow up with an orthopedic doctor or podiatrist.
  • ^^oh no! That sounds like hell! I wish you a speedy recovery.

I am so sorry! Sending healing thoughts and good vibes your way. That absolutely sucks!
  • Aw, @KarasTwin feel better!!

Iceland Air lost DH's suitcase when we moved back to the U.S. He had to itemize what was lost, and it's over $3,200 - his entire wardrobe, basically. The airline has been non-responsive for three weeks now. DH is beside himself, and super cranky, understandably. I just want them to respond saying what they are doing to find the bag, or how they are going to compensate us. Worthless jerks.
  • Thanks, ladies! I'm just glad I wasn't holding lo when it happened. It seriously sucks, though.
  • @KarasTwin oh no! I'm sorry you broke your foot! (What is it with babies and people breaking their feet?) Take care of yourself, mama.

My sister had a compound fracture of her tibia and fibula, which required surgery, when her DD was 5 months old and her DS was 3. She was in a wheelchair for several months, then a walker, then a cane. That was 2 years ago.

If she could do it, you can! But ugh! Sorry you have to go through it.

  • @423ang wow, that's awful!

@hoodoll82, I think so.....it's getting obnoxiously "random" again
  • Feel better @KarasTwin! Hope you hear from the airline soon, @virginiaunicorn11!

  • My bday was tues and my present was that my car wouldn't start!! There's my gripe.
  • @dancegurl1118 didn't think twice about your thread either, but definitely getting some weird ones lately. And repeats.

My baby didn't poop all day yesterday. The last time this happened, his diaper that next day was so full. I was shocked. I've never seen that much poop in my life! I'm already anticipating what will be coming out of him soon! Haha. At least today is Saturday and DH is home to change it!

Our DD didn't poop for 6 days.. And then waited until I was at the bank having a meeting with the finance man.. It was in her toes and hair and I forgot to pack a change of clothes... So embarrassing..
I seriously can only imagine! After seeing what it was like with one day, I can only imagine 6! We have people coming to meet him today. I have no doubt he'll wait for one of them to hold him.
  • My big kids' naps have been totally screwed up this week thanks to preschool starting and they share a room and the little one finally realized that he can climb out of his big boy bed so bedtime has been a mess. They are both exhausted and I was counting on a nice sleep reset this weekend. They have a bday party this afternoon that was moved up due to rain, right to the middle of naptime. We tried to put them down early, but it took the little one forever to fall asleep, the big one woke up like 15 minutes later so I sent him back to bed, and now I have to wake them both up in 15 minutes anyway. They are going to be an overtired mess at this party.

This will be long so bear with me (editing because I hit save too soon oops)

So we moved into a house Aug 1. Our lease on our apartment isn't up until Sept 1, meaning we paid rent for all of August. We have been slowly moving stuff out of the apartment to the house, and were going to deep clean it this weekend. Our landlord called on Tuesday asking if he could come in to "do some work" and if we let him he "wouldn't ding us for the scratches and marks on the wall". Obviously my husband talked to him because if he said that to me i would've been infuriated and said OH YOU MEAN THE NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR? (There was no damage).

He also said "you have to pay to get the carpets cleaned or clean them yourselves". Again, it's normal wear and tear they're not crazy stained. Or really stained at all. He also said oh just pay $100 to get the apartment professionally cleaned.

So we come in this morning and LO and behold by "work" he meant painting every surface, reglazing the windows and other shit. So there's paint everywhere. Hard wood floors. All over the sink. Etc...

Am I wrong to just be doing a normal cleaning and then fighting him tooth and nail if he tries to come at us to clean the floors etc? We have the apartment until the end of the month and he can't dictate when we have to clean it. We were coming in today to clean and not coming back...besides the final walk through. There are drop cloths and paint and cans and sanding scraps all over.

Keep in mind our security deposit is $2500 so it's a big chunk of change, but I'm just infuriated by the state our apartment was left in when we were cleaning this weekend.

Any of you landlords and can give me the scoop? The apartment just has to be broom clean, correct? We are not dirty people. We have lived here two years. Absolutely no damage. Also...we are not on the hook to have the carpets professionally cleaned (it's just the bedrooms), right?

    So stabby.

  • DH had volunteered to watch LO on Saturday so I could have some non baby time. I'd been looking forward to it all week, was going to get my hair done and everything. Then midweek I got a toothache. So instead of getting a haircut, I spent most of my "me time" having the first half of a root canal.
At least DH has said he'll look after LO again next weekend too. I've got a good one there.

@dancegurl1118 I'm sure it's state-specific but in general that's my take too - broom swept. I do think your lease, if more specific than that, could override that though.

He probably screwed himself having workers in because now he couldn't prove any "damage" or necessary clean up wasn't caused by his workers.

And of course he would have to itemize in writing everything he would withhold for - and if he doesn't, you can sue for double or treble damages in some states (I think CT is one - which I think is where you said you are?)

If it doesn't go well, can you promise to take him on People's Court? I love that show and pretty sure they tape in NYC :)

ETA my entire knowledge here is strictly based on being a renter and watching lots of judge shows. So definitely don't rely on me!
  • @hoodoll82 I DVR judge Judy every day...ha!

Seriously! Do toes count too? I broke my pinky toe on Sunday when I stubbed it on the jam of a sliding door. First broken bone. The pain when the doctor set it back into place was seriously comparable to labour pain. I've continued to stub it several times since Sunday too.

Also my friend who has a three month old also broke HER pinky toe last week! So strange.
  • my roommate still hasnt done his dishes. and they stink very very badly.

and my main one is last night i was notified that a girl that owes me money(like $500) i lent her is in town at the pub, so i message her and she asks if we can hang out tomorrow, i say sure and message her this morning asking what the plan is. well she reads the message and just doesnt respond at all. -_- why am i not surprised. its been a year now why havent you paid me back yet.

@hoodoll82 I say NO WHAMMY NO WHAMMY NO WHAMMY...STOP at least once a day to things and no one ever understands :( I also probably have watched every game show ever created because I'm a game show nerd, so.... L-)

  • Yes with the paying money back.. How can you make it come back? A girl I was quite good work friends worth dad died and it was a $900 ticket which she didn't have the money for. We said if you pay $50 per week no problem or pay it all back at once.I always say don't lend money you don't need back and she never mentioned it until December she emails me and says let's catch up I wanna give you that cash (4hourswway) So I said no you can just tf it to my bank. Cow still hasn't so now I ask her ever month or so only because she said she'd pay it in December. Don't say you've got the cash and want to pay it back then ignore jt
  • Ugh, people should just say can I have money if they have no intention of giving it back. My sister's in laws do that regularly. They make really bad financial decisions and then ask my sister and brother in law for money. They never pay it back, but give them expensive Christmas and birthday gifts. How about just don't give gifts?

@hoodoll82, that's obnoxious! How many weeks PP are you? My doctor said it could be an average of 10-12 weeks before you start. I'm not breastfeeding, either.
  • DH's check engine light is on in his vehicle...hate that!
We are trying to refinance & my HR department is telling the bank I'm part time & I was hired in 2013. Ummm no..I'm full time & I was hired in 2014. Wtf!! How do you screw that up! So I called HR & said they owed me 1 yr of pay apparently..the lady was not fond of that joke. It has now been fixed but now we won't go to closing when we wanted too.
I think LO is going through a growth spurt again. She's eating every 2 hrs today instead of 4 & she's cranky.
  • So, my grad school internship is over since I'm done with grad school, but I was hired by the library to work part-time there. It's ending up to be about 10 hours a week, which is perfect for me because it allows me to keep my foot in the door without requiring me to work full time. Anyway, I worked from 9-4 today and when I got home, LO was SO grouchy, and she's been that way all evening. DH said she was in a fantastic mood all day and basically the unpleasantness started as soon as I walked in the door. This has happened the last few times I've worked, especially on my all-day Saturday shifts... I'm starting to think she's mad at me for leaving. Bring on the mom guilt... trying to remind myself that 10 hours a week is NOTHING and this is going to be so good for our whole family in the long run.

  • So I'm on my SECOND period since birth & im BFing & on birth control. One happened about 3 weeks ago & hurt but was short. I'm now on YAZ & it's not white pill time. THIS FREAKING HURTS. I've always had painful cramps. Ugh.
