I am on day 8 of spotting. 3 appts and 2 ultrasounds later little bean looks great and is growing as should.
It's nerve wrenching.... and even I have to remind myself to stay calm. Some women it's normal... some not. I'd definitely recommend telling your ob, often a quick check can bring a world of relief.
I was hoping I would not have to look in this thread but here I am. I am 6w2d and when I wiped yesterday morning saw very very light pink. I had a Mc in Sept. And am very optimistic about this pregnancy. It just feels different in a good way. But that spotting yesterday shot down all my defenses. I cried and cried. It has stopped since yesterday morning and I never had cramps with it. I went and did blood work and go again on saturday so one way or another on Monday I will have my answer. I am still trying to stay positive but this is exactly the way my last Mc began. I didn't have heavy bleeding until a week after I started spotting. I am truly sorry for everyone going through this and to those who have had a loss. I do love the fact that I can come here and read posts about ladies going through similar things and to help support eachother in this hard time. Hugs to you all!
@angleyes989 I posted about this yesterday. I had a constipated bum and when I wiped it was bright red. I have been spotting since day 1 and am currently 6w2d. I have my ultrasound today. This morning the spotting in very little and more mucous and brownish colored. I have no cramps and am hoping everything is ok with the baby. I hope you are ok too and will post results later today.
Freaking out right now...having mucousy discharge that is pink. Everything I read says it's either normal or signs of a mc. Can't do anything about it as I am out of town for my husband's surgery today.
I started bleeding a couple days after I found out I was pg (11/30) I went to ER and they couldn't see a baby or even a sac at the time (I was 4 weeks and a few days along) they figured it was because I was to early, I am now 6 weeks 1 day and I started bleeding again last night and it's still going, I'm afraid to go in because 1: I don't want them to think I'm crazy and 2: because I'm afraid that they won't be able to see baby. I don't know what to do.
My us today was inconclusive. For 6w2d what they saw was not big enough so either I'm not as far along as we thought or this is going to mc or its ectopic. I was spotting since the beginning I had a more red color and cramping after the internal us and now back to pinkish brown with mucous. They took blood again so I will know tomorrow if my betas are still rising and will do it again on Sunday. Praying for a miracle.

Contacted dr today. Bc my spotting was so faint and only when bm. I was told to rest and destroys this week off my feet and a whole food no complex carb diet. Midwife believes since no bright red bleeding or alot of it, and also no cramping. I just stressed myself which caused the light spotting. Hoping a weekend of rest will do the trick. US still on schedule for 12/23. Started to get some new preggerz symptoms today as well, so hoping blood and hormones say a-ok
Spotting has to be one of the scariest things in early pregnancy. I've had 3 miscarriages and spotted with every one. This time, I got pregnant on a fertility/medicated cycle so I had high hopes as to no spotting. Wrong. Twice this week I've had light pink/red spotting. With the others, it was always brown, which I was told is better than red. Ugh. I had my first round on Tuesday. It was just a little bit and cleared right up. I had an ultrasound Thursday at 6w3d and saw TWO healthy heartbeats. However, the spotting returned yesterday. The dr said it could be from the transvaginal ultrasound, but I've had 5,000 of those without the blood.
I'm praying for my babies but am freaking out about the bleeding. Anyone with multiples ever had spotting and go on to successful pregnancy?
@llittle7 I read somewhere that spotting can be more common with multiples, actually. I'm not sure where I read it, but I was all over the internet trying to see what my spotting could mean.
I have an ultrasound on Wednesday to see what's going on. The spotting hasn't returned, so I'm hoping, but I'm also worried about MMC.
I had brown discharge with my first pregnancy for maybe 3 weeks. Almost not heaven enough to wear a panty liner. It was accompanied by pretty bad cramping. I had two ultrasounds my first trimester that indicated everything was fine. I went on to have a normal and healthy pregnancy and baby!!.... I am 4+2 weeks now with my 2nd pregnancy and I have had small amount of brown spotting for 4 days. I notice it mostly when I wipe. I had blood drawn today for my 48 hour check to see if it has doubled.... Fingers crossed!! I do not have cramping this time around. Just some achiness... Good luck to all those expectant mommies out there with spotting ♡
I'm sorry to see new posters in here. I know how scary this is.
So far my spotting/bleeding has not subsided or let up. My ultrasound is on Thursday and after being utterly disgusted with the dr I saw a few weeks ago and her lack of follow up, I'm just not bothering calling them anymore. My ultrasound will tell me one way or another, even though I'm not very hopeful anymore. The few symptoms I've had have started to disappear so that kinda tells me things are different as well.
I'm still spotting too. I'm on day 10 of it. Some days are worse than others. My next U/S is Monday afternoon. I'm sorry to see so many new faces on this thread.

The clinic called back, my betas are up but not enough, should be around 3000 they are at 1390. Going back in for blood work tomorrow. No cramps but still spotting it's red, mucous and little tiny clots. Trying to remain hopeful.
My spotting stopped for a day and a half and came back this afternoon full force. Red and falling into the toilet like a period. I did 2 betas. Waiting to hear results on Monday and have an appt. Monday as well. One way or another I'll know but it looks like I am miscarrying again:/
I agree. I am on my third pregnancy my first one ended at 8 weeks and my second one ended at 24 weeks. I had some spotting for both of them and throughout my entire 24 weeks. I HIGHLY recommend going to see your doctor with any sign of bleeding, it will be worth it.. even if it is just to ease your mind!!
I've had mild on and off spotting. (I'm 6w5d) My OB is refusing to see me before my 8 week appointment. Having new insurance, I don't have a primary care doctor yet so I can't go see them either. I'm my sure if it's worth going to the ER for or not. I usually wake up at night with mild cramping bit it's not noticeable during the day. What do they do when you go to the ER? An U/S? Blood work?
Bleeding turned red, cramping got stronger. Went to the ER as advised by nurse's line. Left with more questions than answers.
No clots, cramping not strong enough to take meds for the pain. Saw nothing on the u/s. Doc says "could be normal pregnancy, could be miscarriage, could be ectopic".
I am terrified and sad and trying so hard to be hopeful but coming up short.

Clinic called back betas still rising. From 1390 to 1779. Gotta hold on till Wednesday to do the next blood work and then meet with the Dr to figure out what's next. Still praying, still frightened to death but staying hopeful.
In my experience with my son I spotted. He is 11 now but back then was told I was told I was threatening a MC. Anyway I ended up going to the hospital and for the 3 consecutive weeks after that and they checked my HCG that continually increased and they gave me an u/s every week. All was fine.
I know that's not always the case, but to ease your mind there is nothing wrong with going to your doctor or the ER. You can wait and see but it is always comforting in alerting your doctor or going to a medical facility especially if your spotting for a prolonged period.
@teenybenoit I hope your betas keep rising! @danaalex I hope your spotting stops and everything checks out! Really ::hugs:: to all the ladies who are worried and feel like they are in limbo. It is a sucky place to be.
I have a question about spotting, but it's probably very dumb and I'm sorry in advance. I did not experience this during my last pregnancy. I have a bunch of wondfo tests left over and have been peeing on them every morning (yes, I know, it's stupid). I just like watching the progression. This morning, I got my darkest line yet. Then the spotting began.
I decided to pee on one just now and got a line equally as dark as this morning. The bleeding has slowed substantially and is now more pink/brown than red and only when I wipe (as opposed to getting all over my liner). The cramping, however, is still there.
Does this mean anything? Does it bode well for me? I assumed that if I were miscarrying, the line would have lightened at least a little bit, but I'm sure that's a ridiculous hope to have and probably means nothing.

I'm sorry for the limbo @danaalex and @teenybenoit, I hope you can get some answers soon and that everything is all right.
As for your question @danaalex it is better that the line isn't fading but from my experience doesn't mean that everything is OK. With my last loss, my beta was 16,000 when the u/s showed a slow heartbeat and it was 18,000 4 days later when the ultrasound showed no heartbeat. Are you going back for another ultrasound next week? There should definitely be a sac by then.

Hi all. This is my first pregnancy. I started spotting a bit last Wednesday. Nothing heavy just some brownish discharge when I wiped. Had a Transvag ultrasound on Thursday and spotting along with some cramping has been happening on and off through the weekend. My hcg level was 370 on Thursday. Tomorrow I go back in for another blood draw and am hoping my numbers will have progressed as they should. It's def nerve wracking. Good luck to all of you as well!

I see my OB on Thursday and she'll be doing an ultrasound, but I'll only be 6w then
The bleeding has still slowed but now it's...stringy? I feel like there are small clots. I just want this to be over if it's going to be over, not this slow torturous waiting game.
FXFY everyone. I hope we all get the good answers that we're hoping for, or peace with whatever else could happen.

I had my blood drawn again for my 48 hour recheck. The dr. Called me back on a Saturday evening to ease my mind... she told my my level at 4 weeks was 650 and two days later at 4+2 it had more than doubled to 1700. She said that there r never any guarintees, but the fact that it MORE than doubled is a great sign.
