I'm up, but have no baby tonight!! But it's only a little after 10 here @babygsmommy . We got no ToTers, but I handed out candy at my mom's for a while until DH got home from work and we went out for dinner. I had already counted 50 when I left at 6. Between 6-7:30 is usually the busiest time so I'm curious to hear how many they got total.
omg I know exactly what you mean @CL8badB . I did the same thing when M was up last night. Being woken up by a screaming baby is so much worse than already being awake.
@andreamarie77 that would make me beyond ragey! I think the sense of entitlement has gotten drastically worse since we were kids (which I don't feel like was really all that long ago!)
I am so sorry you guys are still up @CL8badB ! Seems like all the kiddos have been a little off this week. I hope M is doing alright for my mom tonight... Meanwhile I'm binge watching old Friends episodes and munching on goldfish (the only junk food in the house apparently) because evidently I can't sleep even when there's no baby keeping me up
I'm here . Jameson just woke up and we are just relaxing in bed for a little bit before we head over to get my DD from her impromptu sleep over last night.
It's in the lower 50s here. We are huddled together watching frozen. H has declared its too cold for the zoo, so I have no idea how we are going to pass the day...
37 degrees here. Car is loaded and we're on the road to visit the grandparents...yay for some hands to help take care of A. This is worth the 3hr drive to see them!!!!
I wish there were more indoor playgrounds. Like ones at fast food places. Whatever happened to Discovery Zone? Anyone remember that place?
Have you googled indoor playgrounds for your area? I was shocked to find a few in my area. They don't advertise anywhere that I've seen so I had never heard of them until I googled.

We have an indoor bouncy house place and an indoor trampoline place but I want to open like an indoor playground. With swings and climbers and slides and all the fun outdoor playground toys in a temperature controlled environment with snacks and potties available
We have exactly what you're talking about @wasnotwas! It's got some of the Discovery Zone-type things. Plus play equipment like a play ground. I don't think it has any swings. They've also got mats and those big foamy shapes that littles can crawl around on. It's also got giant train tables and a room full of role playing (not the kinky kind!) toys like kitchens and a store front and tool benches. They charge $10 per kid in the summer and $12 in the colder months and the first adult is free. Additional adults are $2 each. They also sell punch cards 12 visits for $100. I think they do pretty well, but I would have anxiety about keeping everything clean.
There is a clique in our neighborhood and me and H are not part of it. It is actually several families that knew each other before they moved in, so I just kinda figured that they were just going to keep being friends with each other. Well, they just posted pictures of a Halloween party they had and they invited a few other neighbors as well. It is totally high school- but I feel really left out . I'm fun too neighbors!!!
@majwv8 I had too full of a bladder once too. They asked me to go to the bathroom and pee just a little. Are you insane? You cant ask a pregnant woman to go pee, just a little. If I'm going to pee I'm just going to pee.
Just for anyone who was looking for non-food things for trick or treaters, on a whim yesterday I grabbed some glow stick bracelets (12/$1 at target) and threw them in the candy bowl. Kids were super psyched about them!!
@wasnotwas would you charge admission to the inside play ground?
You would have to pay rent and for utilities and some sort of cleaning service and assuming it would be about 20,000 sf at $7.79 psf for rent & CAM, $.36 psf for utilities annually, and $.79 psf for cleaning and pest control. That's like $15k per month.
If you charged $3 for kids under 3 and $5 for older and were open 9-4 so you could do birthdays before or after hours you would need 13 big kids or 22 little kids (or some combination) per hour (assuming you were open 350 days per year). That doesn't include your staff, but birthday parties are big money and you would charge a little margin on snacks too. I think it's totally doable (that rent rate is very high for the size of the building)
And now you guys basically know what I do for a living
I love that I can spend more time with KJ on the weekends but I am so worn out. DH was doing school work so I kept her entertained (I feel so old playing ring around the rosie - like I might break a bone when falling down- but she loves it). I was so happy when it was 12:30 and she was showing signs she was sleepy. DH put her down. I showered, dressed and told DH I was going grocery shopping. Instead I'm at Zaxby's about to have lunch and read my book alone
PS- shoutout to the SAHMs who do this without a break every day!
OMG! I just met Omar Epps! *squeel*. I feel like I'm 16! I had such a crush on him in high school! He was at the local Jamaican food truck that we order food from on the weekends. I would have asked him for a picture of the (I don't care howling that is) but he was on the phone so I just said hi and smiled really big. He gave me a nice smile back! *squeel* He seems like he is a regular so maybe he lives in my neighborhood and I will see him again
@Cricket81 I'm going to try that one pot Alfredo pasta this week that looks good and can easily be made vegetarian.
So good! You just reminded me that I wanted to add this info to the recipe:
It took longer to get the pasta done than it said in the recipe - I think closer to 25 minutes. I also had to add more liqiquid as it was cooking because the sauce was getting too thick I would guess I added another 1/3 cup of broth overall.
DH and I had our high school neighbor babysit tonight again and it went really well. I consider it going well because when I got home the baby was asleep and all our dishes were washed. I'm easy to please.
We had a good time hanging out with friends for DH's bday. We went to a restaurant called World of Beer. We were glad everyone was ready to go home by 10. We are old.
Thank you for all the birthday wishes yesterday! I had a great birthday. Grayson and I went trick or treating with my best friend and her daughter. Grayson loved it! Then Alex and I went out to dinner with my best friend and then we went out. There are some interesting people out on Halloween lol and Alex got my flowers for my birthday and they are making my bedroom smell so good!
@ColieAnn31 - beautiful flowers! Glad you had a nice bday! I was wondering if you hadn't posted because you had a raging hangover. LOL
Lol no!!! I didn't even get tipsy last night. But I did have a pretty lazy day. I've been giving love tits and reading all the words but I stayed up pretty late last night so Grayson and I took a nice long (3 hours!!!) Nap earlier. Now I'm off to bed!
Laying in bed wide awake because the damn wind is so bad! Sustained 35mph with gusts over 50mph. I've already heard my garbage cans tip over and tree branches breaking. Hopefully it doesn't wake my lil man up.
I put a bowl with some dried fruit and Cheerios on the table for LO while I drink my coffee (and bump). Apparently the Cheerios were a waste of time. If one accidently makes it into his mouth, he spits it out no matter where he is in the room. I'm sure I'll care more once I've actually consumed more coffee.
Re: All Work and No Spam Makes Jack a Dull Boy
He didn't even eat any candy. I'm so sleepy.

World Series? It'll be back this week. Fox ordered additional scripts for it, so that doesn't indicate it is in any danger.
