Oh, and this thought just struck me... Wouldn't it be great if when you hit "reply" at the bottom of someone's post, it automatically tagged them in the reply box. That would make so much sense @bumpmay! Because now, it's kind of a useless button.
KJ woke up normal time around 7. We left her to play in her crib for around 30 minutes. Now she's in our bed with us drinking milk and singing "happy birthday to youuuu!" over and over.
@WasNotWas it's warmer here in Missouri right now!!! It says it's 50 right now. No idea what the high is for the day. Grayson slept in until 6:50 new time which is 7:50 old time. Later than he usually sleeps. But since I have to work this morning I was already up so it was no big deal. It would have been a big deal if I didn't have to work today lol
Just have to share this random info. I wear a fitbit and have officially hit the pregnancy waddle status. Apparently my waddle movement is equivalent to walking up the stairs according to my fitbit. Lol no lie, since Friday it's said I've climbed 81 flights of stairs, in actuality that number should be closer to 20.
We did really well this morning considering the time change and M's cold. She slept all night and didn't wake up until 6:45. I changed her diaper and put her back down and she probably would have gone back to sleep but a coughing fit meant we were up for good by 7:15. @WasNotWas , that's pretty cold for FL but it's definitely colder here! This was at 9:30 am, I should have checked when I woke up before the sun was up but I forgot.
I feel like I would be a horrible SAHM. Maybe that's why I never feel guilty. If I thought I would be good at it maybe I would feel differently. Sometimes I wish I had that instinct but I love that my baby can go to daycare and get lots of stimulation, learning and play time with other kids.
@coffeeismylyfe we got Grayson's haircut for the first time at 10 months but he had a ton of hair! He has had 2 more haircuts since and we've just been buzzing it with the longest guard we have. His hair grows fast though.
@coffeeismylyfe - we got B's first haircut at around 13 months. We took him to a kids haircut place. He freakin hated it! Then today, H attempted to use the clippers on him. Went a little bit better, but I think his hair looks strange now! Good luck!
@coffeeismylyfe ty had his first hair cut a couple weeks ago and I'm still recovering, same as rabbit, he was getting a little mullet-y. But now he looks like such a grown up!
Headed back home...being with family for the past two days really makes me hate not living closer to them. We need a private helicopter that can get us to and from a lot quicker than these car rides.
On a side note, we got to meet our 13 day niece yesterday....so tiny. Flashback to when our little A was so little. So sweet to hold her and then A had to come sit with me and touch the new baby. Parents are now pushing for grandbaby #2...um NO! Not even close to that time yet thank you very much.
@numbersgirl08 I got aggravated just reading your vent! I'm really relaxed about our schedule but a schedule keeps things so much more manageable and enjoyable for all when there is a baby/toddler participating as well. I say you go to dinner and leave LO with your hubby and he can deal with it since he wants to act dumb about the situation.
I'm gonna vent a little but too. Just got off the phone with my MIL and she informed me today that now she plans on spending at least two weeks here when Brantley is born. Ummm I'm not overlapping time with other family just because you changed your mind how long you plan on spending here. She also knows that she is coming here to watch the kids while I'm in the hospital so things stay as normal for them as possible. Well she made suggestion that she wants to be at the hospital for the birth. Ugh with everything else I'm having to deal with around this birth the last thing I need is more people changing their plans. Esp the plans that have been set for months now. I really want to just tell everyone to stay the fuck away and I'll figure shit out on my own.
@numbersgirl08 - I am angry for you! Things change when you have a kid. I hope they feel like crap when they have their baby and realize how it really is. I am guilty of not understanding all this but i would follow my friend's lead when it came to schedules.
Whoever it was ( @34blondie I think) who mentioned their LO pretty much living on smoothies while teething recently, Thank You!! I hadn't even thought of making M smoothies when she wouldn't eat, but after the last two days of barely consuming anything I needed to try something. It is a huge hit! I think we'll be blending quite a bit until these last few teeth break through.
Budget pro tip: bring two tired kids to the grocery store! You are guaranteed to have to leave early because they are being terrible and you will come under budget! You're welcome
Genius @34blondie ! I made a big one, thinking I'd save half for supper but I ended up filling her straw cup twice in like 15-20 min. She was clearly hungry just not feeling anything I offered her before this. I'm getting the cold probably helps the teeth too.
I used to cook a lot but I haven't done as much since I was pregnant. On Sundays I used to cook enough food for dinner and DH's lunch for 4 days. Today I made an attempt at that by making a pasta and shrimp dish along with 4 turkey burgers, pinto beans, sweet potato fries and 4 grilled chicken breasts (we will eat these in salads all week). I'm proud of myself and happy with DH. He played with KJ so I could cook without her underfoot. I feel like we worked as a team today and I'm happy. I even got a nap today. I feel really happy. It could be the alcohol too... Whatever works!
Thanks for all the backup. But I did probably overreact.... They went somewhere else and then were really nice about it and even talked about how nice it was to have someone help with all the planning.
So N got a pretty good nap and now we're on the way to dinner at a decent time. Hoping everything goes well!
