Ds2 cluster fed for the first time right before bed, so I was expecting a busy night of the same. I just woke up. looked at my phone and realized he gave me a 5 hour stretch of sleep!!! I feel like a whole new person!
I'm holding my band new baby as she sleeps. It's been 4 hours since her last feed. She was nursing like a pro right away but now she's not trying, she cried and rooted but didn't try hard to latch and fell back asleep
DS decided he wanted to sleep in his. crib last night. After being up for hours feeding, singing, rocking, walking, diaper changes I finally put him down in his crib so I could go pee, came back and he was sound asleep! So I spent the rest of the night trying to sleep on the floor of the nursery...

@stoofewok we just moved our LO to the crib in her nursery at night and it was an awesome decision. It's been three nights so far and we all have slept better. I also enjoy that our room feels like ours again.
@stoofewok I'm there with you. DS seems to sleep better in his crib but I am just not ready to let him sleep in there alone yet. He's only a month! However the floor was really uncomfortable!
@sarahsimon how old is your LO? Are you able to get them to go back down after feelings easier? Moving my LO seems to be the biggest problem...

Tonight has been smooth. Got my LO into swaddling using the miracle blanket. Our routine is, swaddle and sleep in bassinet, wake up, change nappy, feed, burp, cuddle for a bit, swaddle, sleep in bassinet.
I found cuddling or soothing (e.g. stroking his head, singing a lullabye) before swaddling helps him go down in his bassinet easily. I also use his baby noises player. He loves the heartbeat sound. It's always on when I put in him in his bassinet.
Edited because I've been doing housework since midnight instead of sleeping & spelling is difficult!
I'm still up b/c I've had bad lower back pain since yesterday, and I'm starting to think it's back contractions b/c it's moving to my stomach but mostly my back and it's INCREDIBLY painful and uncomfortable. If it keeps up in waves of pain I'll have to start timing I think. Oh jeeze.
@alphaxi614 she will be one month on sunday. The first two nights she needed a little reassurance when put back down after feeding. All it took was a bit of patting on her back and shushing. She has gone down pretty well since then.
@theteno - Thanks hun I'll need that luck! SO is about an hour to hour and a half away from me right now and the hospital is about an hour and a half to two hours from me in the other direction! Hoping I can squeeze in a quick nap since they seem to be maintaining a ten minute gap for now.
Have been having a tightening stomach and back pain all night but the pain in my back has intensified. A friend who's also my elder and a mother said I'm probably dilating and in early stages of labour and to get check in the morning. If the pain doesn't subside and doesn't get any further apart or too close together I might just have to.
I'm excited it could be it but I'm terrified I might miss signs and end up going through most of this without my SO. Okay, relax everything will be wonderful! Thanks for the goodluck!!
Nursing now but always feeling anxious about putting DD back down for sleep. I'll work at getting her calmed, put her down sleeping in the Moses basket or crib, then she'll remain there calmly sleeping for 5-10 minutes before waking and crying. Then we start over again. That's about 75% of the time. The other 25% she's down for the count. I don't like these odds!
I really don't even know what to do anymore. It's been 2 hours straight of crying.

I'm sorry @jenniferurs. Weird thing that worked for me - go in the bathroom, turn on the fan and the shower so it's loud in there and sway/bounce. That ended a 2 hour crying stretch for me once. At that point everything is worth a try! And I'm sure you are, but just in case - are you doing the five S's?
I have been up for about 2 hours listening to LO grunt because he needs to fart. It takes him so long to get it out. I finally moved to the couch with him so he doesn't wake my husband up with. He is the loudest sleeper even when he doesn't need to pass gas.

Yeah, although in our case, it's the 4 S', since she refuses to take a pacifier and my pediatrician advised me to avoid comfort nursing, as it's causing her to over-feed and spit up/vomit, so sucking has kind of been eliminated from the conversation.
But thanks for the advice! I'll definitely try that!

So, I'm currently pacing around my mothers island in the kitchen while waiting for my SO to get here so we can head to the hospital in the big city as soon as possible. Apparently baby couldn't wait 48 more hours to go to a hospital a half hour away with staff I know. Baby has decided today he/she will come and now we are going to have to drive almost two hours, although more like 1 1/2 since it's early morning and less traffic.
Never been in this hospital except coming out of it when I was born. Slightly terrified. And OMG back contractions SUCK. Ouch!! People compare the front ones to period pain? BS. Lol. I hope all goes smooth or that they don't try to send me home. -_-

This is my kid too. He HATES the swaddle, but then he starts himself awake all the time!!

LO has been struggling with pooping all day and I'm pretty sure its from too much foremilk. She doesnt normally have to struggle this much. Looks like little sleep for me tonight.
I apparently have the opposite problem as some of you ladies tonight. I can't get our LO to wake up for a feeding. I've changed his diaper, taken off his clothes, a wet washcloth, tapped my fingers on his head, tickled him all over.....anything I'm missing? I've been trying for 45 minutes, and as soon as I see eyeballs and get him moved to the breast, he immediately falls back asleep. I would love to just put him down and go back to bed, but we've had such a hard time getting him to gain weight, I hate to skip a feeding. Tomorrow will probably be a no sleep day, just to spite me.
Rough night here. Around 2 LO started spitting up something fierce. Nose was clogged, tons of spit up in his mouth, it was ugly. Finally just finished settling his gas down in my arms. Praying I can put him in his bassinet now. I feel like a zombie.
Going on more than an hour of fussing. She just won't go back to sleep.

@theteno - thank you, I posted in my off to L&D thread but I'm at home for now. Laboured from 2am until 4pm but had contractions till about six until the med cocktail they gave me kicked in. Now just...waiting for pain to kick in again or water to break and go in and NOT be sent home for not dilating fast enough. Was stuck at 4cm, 90% effaced.
Currently up watching Spider-Man 3 with my SO and his "girlfriend" haha. It's his best man friend but I call him his girlfriend lol. Starting to get bad tightening and pain in my lower back again but unless I can't move I'm not thinking too much about it.
Hope all you mamas up feeding/awake just because I wish you all some fast feedings and good rests when you can!

Right? My DD is up every hour to feed and she feeds for about half an hour so I only get her down for 30 min at a time
