My SIL babysat DS last night while DH and I went to a concert. Everything was going great until DH showed me a picture that SIL sent him. She had DS in a ring sling carrier (she has a 2 year old and is big on baby wearing) and they were on a walk. For some reason, I got insanely over protective and jealous. DS looked adorable in the picture but I just felt like it was too intimate. I told DH "I should be the only one to have him in a baby carrier! I'm his mom!" I totally recognize that I was being weird, and I wanted to leave right that second to go get him. I love my SIL and have no problems with her holding him, but there was just something about seeing him snuggled up in that carrier next to her.
I've gained 7 lbs since I stopped breast feeding and got on the pill. I'm so disgusted with myself but I'm so damn tired I haven't worked out since DS was born.
@comicsans - cookies sound delicious & why is the second one a relief? I still haven't gotten my first...
So DD decided to scare the living shit out of me this morning. I woke up at 5am to pee and decided to check on her via the monitor. I look at it and she is FACE DOWN in the crib. I'm not talking stomach sleeping with head turned to the side, I'm talking nose to the sheet. I ran in to the nursery thinking that the worst had happened. She was happily sleeping and wasn't too happy when I woke her up so we cuddled and nursed in my bed instead. Seriously, DD?
She sleeps with a sleep sack on and isn't swaddled - do you think she had issues rolling herself back over - she was completely pressed up against one side of the crib. Ideas?

@Jcrewgirl85 omg I'd freak out too. No advice. We still swaddle but DD is somehow getting her arms out. She is also starting to rotate (found her 180 degrees from how I left her) but not flip. I don't think I'm ready for that!!
@kellyq116 - DD rotates herself all the time and I was fine with that - she'd end up horizontal instead of vertical but I'd just adjust her before I went to bed. I was not ready for her to flip like that in the crib though!
@comicsans - yes, DD can roll tummy to back and back to tummy (tummy to back is actually the first one she did), but she's never done it in sleep. I just hope that sleep sack she wears isn't preventing her from flipping back over? And what an awesome anniversary present!

@thd7580, I feel your pain! While the numbers on the scale say I'm 5 pounds lighter than pre-pregnancy, I feel so out of shape and soft. I'm disappointed in myself for falling into such bad eating habits lately. I'm hoping that once it gets cooler I can take LO on more walks and get back in a good mindset.

I'm there too. Having a 'I miss my old body' day. I worked so hard and was in the best shape of my life before I got preggers. Had even just run a marathon. Now most if my clothes fit but not the same and I'm soft everywhere. I lack time, energy and motivation to start a good routine again. I'm hoping know that LO has started sleeping longer that I can get back into a workout groove.
I love that I can bump at 3:30 am, 6:16 am or 9pm and get immediate responses, everyone on here has crazy mom of baby schedules as well. My IRL friends not so much.
All this talk about one year ago and testing and waiting makes me miss the ttc time and being pregnant. My May14 baby is our last and now im sad about it. Im so grateful for my family and I feel complete but maybe some lingering thoughts about another but DH does not want anymore. Im really going to miss all pregnancy related experiences
Im really going to miss all pregnancy related experiences
We're only having this one and I too have pangs. I feel like I have all this pregnancy related knowledge now and nothing to use it on! Of course, if I were to have a second, I'm sure it would be a totally different experience anyway.

we have friends coming to stay tomorrow for a week with their toddler. Right now DH is installing a stair gate, he's been working on this for 4 hours! I just want ti hand DS over to him so i can do the other 2. He's awful at DIY, he had no idea you could use a level to vertically align things until 10 mins ago
I'm pretty sure ds is a OAD. Packing up all his smaller things hurts my heart.
At the end of the day though I can't have another just to use things and be pregnant again. Because I would have to pack up those things again. Thus creating a vicious cycle.
DH wants to get rid of all of it. And I'd like to in theory but can't bring myself to it yet. Either can hos parents. They offered to store it for us. They want us to have another too. Not that their decision matters but I'm not ready to let go of the idea completely yet.
I have horrible gas tonight. It burns. And the smell...OMG. If I were a dog, I'd make myself sleep outside tonight. I should stay far away from sparks and open flames.

@MK1013 and @ISeeYouRN I understand how you both feel. My DD looks just like my DH. I hear it from everyone all the time but yesterday I heard it from several people doing the samples at Costco and even other shoppers. I dont mind that she looks like him but it gets annoying after hearing that a million times. I also had a lady come up and tell me "watch out, im a baby thief." People say the strangest things now that we have DD with us!
Sat morning at 5am our power went out. Some DUI driver hit a pole (he's okay). I freaked out and texted a friend at 5:30. My BM stash! Power wasn't scheduled to be back on until noon. I packed up my liquid gold in a cooler and drove to her house. Got back home and was in bed for no more than 5 min and power came back on. FML.

I'm on day 12 of the worst sinus infection/cold/plague that I've ever had. DD had a cold and passed it onto me and its turned into a monster. I went to a minute clinic and the NP gave me an antibiotic. Turns out she had just had a baby 9 weeks ago (her 4th DD) and it was her first day back at work. I almost cried. Then I got up from the chair and I think i left a butt sweat mark and she looked right at it. I took Thurs and Friday off and am back at work today but I still feel completely miserable. Of course the week my DD starts sleeping through the night I'm up all night freaking out that my throat is closing.
NP says that my immune system is probably down from being a new mom, no sleep, etc. I think the antibiotic is making LO a poop machine. Anyone else find this to be true?
DH is going out of town for 4 nights. I think I might die (dramatic I know but I. Feel. Like. Crap.) To make things better, I think DD is getting the cold again. She's a coughing snotty mess. Now I'm 'that mom' with the snotty kiddo. **uggggg**
Also, I love my job but I'm getting jelly of you SAHM/Mat leave moms who post adorable photos/videos of your sweet babies on instagram throughout the day. I had three days off with LO and I felt like I didn't know what to do with DD. For the first time I felt like the DC people knew her better than I do and it made me really sad.
But really, I love those cute pics you ladies post, they make me smile
My MIL wants to have Christmas day at her house this year. DH and I told her that we are starting a tradition that we will be at our house on Christmas day, and family members are welcome to visit but we not be traveling (because he doesn't always get the holidays off).
Even though we extended the invite, I really really hope she doesn't come out. I want to spend the day in my pi's, and not worry about having to entertain her.
I need a shot of alcohol. Today was rough. Potty training DS1 is going less than perfectly (he got poop smeared everywhere); DS2 is starting another growth spurt (this means that nothing I do makes him happy); DH is super whiney and sensitive since he hasn't gotten laid in a week (pp period ftmfl) and no, he's not getting a blowie since I get nothing out of it other than hair in my teeth. I offered to get his balls waxed, but he refuses. /sigh
At least my teeth are brushed and my face washed so I don't have to do it right before bed. And DH says my skin looks smoother so that's another win.
@ho11yday Sorry about the rough day. Potty training F-ing blows! My DS1 thought you wipe with just your hand for the longest time EVER.. So poop was all over everything!
We're getting family pictures done in the beginning of November. DD will be almost 6 months old. We also have a 2 year golden retriever. Pictures will be done outside (live in VA). Ideas/thoughts about outfits? I don't want to be matchy/matchy, but want to coordinate. Thinking of using one of these pics as our Christmas card.
Advice from those who have done family pics with a baby and dog are much appreciated. My sister will be there to help control dog/baby.

Oh man, I am not ready to think about the holidays yet (but my work holiday schedule is getting made soon, so I guess I have no choice). DH and my parents are both divorced, so we have four families to divide time between. Four families in three different states, no less. Somehow, last year, I let DH talk me into trying to see everyone within 48 hours of Christmas, which was just nuts. This year, he's at a new job, so he gets very little time off. So I believe this means we will mostly stay home. Thank goodness. I definitely want to spend DD's first Christmas at our house. I love the idea of our own Christmas tradition. I'm thinking breakfast casserole, PJs until at least lunch, and maybe brunchy breakfast cocktails for the adults (DH's family's Christmas tradition-- love it).
I just poured a bottle of freshly collected breast milk down the drain instead of into the storage bag I was holding in my other hand. Clearly I'm going to need more coffee today.
Also last night I somehow left the house without size 2 diapers, so I had to put DD in one of DS's size 5's. It looked funny but actually worked out well bc she pooped an hour later and the giant diaper saved us from a car seat blowout.

@aimeefarrahfowler@KellyQ116 Luckily it was only 1.5 oz and DD won't take a bottle anyway so I really have no reason for keeping it. It was more annoying than tragic.

@Jcrewgirl85 I feel you on the clothing sizes. I'm looking at a winter suit for him and I'm nervous of sizing as it needs to last until April.
I'm super bummed my steamer broke. I wanted it to be my vacuum.
