Re: random thoughts.

  • @Jennyinheaven, I'm always thinking a head to the holidays.  If I don't get my MIL to start planning it early, they won't be planned till 3 weeks before the actual date.  It's obnoxious.  I sent her an e-mail saying that since DH has Christmas Eve and Chistmas Day off this year, we are spending them home alone with DD.  I don't think that going to go over to well.

  • @jsquaree - that sucks you have to go the small claim route. And that your land lord is a creeper. I would definitely not feel obligated to help him out.

    1. DD rolled herself over back to front a few times yesterday. I managed to get it on video.

    2. DD also put herself to slept in her crib and then STTN.

I'm extremely happy that I have such a good baby when it comes to sleep, but incredibly sad BC I already feel like she doesn't need me. I always have nursed her to sleep. Stupid hormones.

  • I've found myself browsing cloth diapering info sites lately, then clicking away after 15 minutes because it all just makes me tired.

Divergent was so incredibly boring. I hate that I wasted 2 hrs watching it instead of sleeping.

I've gained 4 lbs in the past month. I attribute this to the 8 pints of gelato I consumed over the same period of time. ::cringe::

DS has been sick 3 times since DD was born, and each time I've been forced to let DH handle him while I tend to DD. It breaks my heart that I have to choose.

  • My hair just started falling out this week and I've never been so happy to pull rat sized clumps out in the shower. @jenb_99‌ I watched Divergent 2 days ago and was sad at how boring it was. I couldn't put the books down, the movie sucked
  • I liked the movie Divergent.

However, I have yet to read the books.
  • Where the hell do you store LO's bath tubs? We live in an old house with little storage space and our tub currently resides on top of the toilet. I'm sick of looking at it.

I made bread today. Yeah, that's right. I made it. With yeast. Just call me Betty Crocker.

I go back to work on Monday and am looking forward to it. I feel guilty for looking forward to it.

I'm pretty sure DD gets cuter every day.

And lastly, the Killing is such a good series. I just burned through Season 4 the last two days. I heart Netflix.

  • @Jcrewgirl85‌ ours sits in the tub when not in use. When we shower it sits on the toilet. I'm waiting for the day were done with it. I'm waiting for full head control to bring out the bath ring. Can't wait.

@Jcrewgirl85‌ , ours hangs inside our shower it is sorta in the way but at least ut can drip dry that way. Hair loss, why are you happy about it @Emmagk‌ , just curious I frown in the mirror everyday about the thin wispy layer of hair I have left, and I'm just praying for it to stop
  • We store our tub in the bottom of our linen closet where there aren't any shelves which is cool because it was just wasted space before.
  • The tub is leaning against DS's crib. There's nowhere else for it and DS isn't really using his crib...

DC started using a nickname for DS that I hate so much I threatened revoking visiting privileges to anyone who called him that. How do I tell them nicely to stop?

  • I forget how exactly this convo started when I was talking with MIL... But she told me the other day "yeah she (LO) hates it and screams when I use the changing table strap on her while I go wash my hands after I change her" ...wait... What!? I said "you leave her on the changing table alone?" She says "yeah but I use the strap thing so she's ok" no it's not!!!!!!!!! The pnp is literally right behind you at that point!! Seriously just TURN AROUND!!! She told me when I explained to just lay her in the pnp please that "well she can't roll over yet" ...uh she could at any point! I told her I've seen her try lately (she hasn't). Now I'm scared to leave LO with her. I always wondered why the straps are always out when I tuck them away. I never use them since she's never unattended on the table. Like literally always have a hand on her. So scared now :( and we live with them. So she's bound to be alone with her at some point. Ugh.

  • Definitely cutting them off! Don't know why I didn't think of this!! Duh! I have left sanitizer and antibacterial wipes there. But she says washing hands is better, which it is, but not when you leave my baby alone! I told DH and he apparently thought they're to stop her from rolling too. But he puts her in the pnp since day one. Just infuriates me!

I'm happy about the hair loss because I have a lot of hair normally, it's think and curly and has a tendency to frizz and resists straighteners. Over the last year it's been completely uncontrollable and I've had to scrape it into a bun almost everyday. I'm hoping it goes back to its pre pregnancy state or even a little less. It takes hours at the salon to get it coloured and they usually have to mix up the colour 3 times just to cover it all
  • I want/need a haircut, but I don't want a "mom cut". You know, the short no nonsense kind cause you have absolutely no time to blow dry and straighten.

Actually, I don't know what difference long hair makes at this point. My hair always ends up in a bun anyway. I think I just feel to chub for short hair cause I have gained weight in my face.

I might give in to the hair, but I will fight "mom jeans" to the death!
  • Speaking of hair, I have been obsessing over getting low lights. Something different for fall and something different in general. Hopefully soon.

Also, the Australian lady at dds gymboree class is a total bitch and has me questioning whether I want to sign up for another month. I secretly throat punch her in my head. She thinks since she comes from some other country, she doesn't need a filter. She called me a "bad mom" because I said I almost forgot dds blanket. Everyone looked at her in shock. The gymboree teacher spoke up and said "she's just kidding" and she opened the door just to say "no I'm not!". I never liked her but now I really don't like her and if I decide not to sign up for another month I will be sure to tell them it was because of her. She is an employee there btw.

Sometimes I secretly wished the GI would have told me I needed to switch dd to a special formula for her reflux so I had an ex use to stop BF. It's so hard and time consuming. I'm over it :(

    It's a BOY

I feel an insane amount of guilt about the last two days and how much time LO spent in the carseat. DH had a job interview in his hometown, and his family hadn't bothered to visit yet, so we obviously had to all go together. Because no one could possibly try to be at the same place at the same time, save for a family dinner AFTER LO's bedtime, we had to run around all day with him for two days, plus the 10 hour round trip drive.

LO has completely regressed in any sort of napping schedule. He's only cat napped for the past 3 days, and I feel even worse because he was on the most perfect, regular schedule before this trip.

I secretly love that LO was terrified of MIL and screamed every time she came near him. Even to the point where DH had to tell her, "mom, he doesn't like whatever you're doing, you need to stop." He was calm and happy second DH or I picked him up, though.

I feel the same way when I'm out and about trying to get things done. It's easier and saves gas to do it at once but ds usually tells need when he's had enough.

The last couple of days we visited home he was getting fussy. He was ready to go home and have everyone stop pawing him.
  • LO is totally off her sleep patterns now that we're transitioning her to crib in our room from the RnP. We're already on the third (small) feeding since she went to sleep tonight. Just picked her up, and poor baby spit up...right into my open mouth. Niiiiice. As well as down my cleavage and drenching her from head to toe. I'm thinking this is gonna be a long night.

@Katzalia‌ - nooooooo! That sounds terrible! You are officially a mom. Lol. I feel like I became official today when I used that blue ball thing to suck some boogies out of DD's nose. Nasty.

    @Lissiehoya‌ - leap?

    @MK1013‌ - I hate when I do stuff like that - it's like burning money. I wish I wasn't mobile so I could gif.

  • I just found a bugaboo chameleon on kijiji for $350 while looking for a lightweight stroller. DH thinks I'm crazy for even thinking about it but $350 for a bugaboo.
  • I just picked a glob of earwax off my boob. Ugh. Babies are so gross.

  • I just laid my DD on the couch in front of the tv and she watched it until she fell asleep. She did this last night too. #badmom #whateverworks #justlikeherdaddy

Good luck @Jcrewgirl85‌ !! For me it was very difficult but also enjoyable. And good luck figuring out your pump schedule!
  • @KellyQ116‌ - you are NOT a bad mom. I feel like sometimes we survive one day at a time. You do what works and what keeps you sane.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm soooo nervous. I hope I remember how to do my job - I know this sounds stupid. I feel like I haven't worked in so long. And figuring out what to wear the first day back...reminds me of jr high and the first day if school. Lol.

My office locks, but not looking forward to pumping in a work dress.

We are starting to ween DS out of his swaddle and started last night. We started with his legs and he did good because he can't kick it off. Tonight I went to check on him and I had put a blanket over his legs. He had kicked it off and laid his legs over it. I was cracking up because that's exactly what I do and DH we are all got sleepers. Lol

Last weekend DHs grandma gave us some fresh pickins from her garden. From what she had picked already, I chose some tomatoes, onions and a bell pepper. The other day I looked at the pepper and said, "It's red. Has it always been red?" For some reason I thought we got a green pepper. Is this mommy brain?

    All peppers start green :)
  • @sticky11‌ Totally possible.

  • I'm getting nostalgic since it's almost been a year when I found out I was pregnant. I miss being pregnant. I know I'm probably in the minority, but I loved it. We can't afford daycare for two and I don't want to be a SAHM so we probably won't TTC a sibling for DD for at least 2-3 more years.

But it was a fully grown and picked pepper. Is it possible it was green and ripened to red? Is it possible I'm not crazy??

You're not crazy. Green peppers turn red eventually.
  • Why the hell is Jennifer Lawrence dating Chris Martin? Don't understand that one :/
  • I stayed up last night reading. Didn't go to bed until 8a. Totally worth it.

    Love Clarence.

DS1 has been so good since my parents visited. I think it was all the walks my mom did with him.

My dad's heart isn't working as well as it was, even a year ago. Something like 22% from 33%. His doctor is suggesting some sort of pump with an external battery pack. He told me this this weekend and was disappointed in my response to his news. But what does he expect when he snaps at me that he wasn't looking for advice - I wasn't giving any.

Under the master bath sink. Takes some maneuvering. If not in use, I end up storing it in ds1 ' s closet.

Why would anyone date either of them? I hate Jennifer Lawrence with a passion. She'd be cute if she weren't so aware of her quarks, which I'm pretty sure at this point are completely intentional, and if she didn't keep calling herself a "fat actress". No. Kirstie Alley is a fat actress. JLaw is the size of my thick, plus-sized thigh. And Chris Martin is a self absorbed ass.
But what of her level of lepton self-awareness? I need to know this before I can fully determine the level of cuteness.

  • I can't believed i lived through my pregnancy without coffee and that I actually didn't want it for 9 months. What was I thinking?? And all those times I complained I was tired during my pregnancy? Nothing compared to a 3 month old who insists on regressing and waking up all week at 4:30.

  • @jsquaree‌ lol! MH barks at LO when we are winding down for bedtime. I don't understand it.

I'm going to bed early with a horrible sore throat. I've given the monitor to DH and he is going to take charge tonight and give her a bottle if/when she wakes up. It's the first time I have gone to bed not staring at the screen and I'm nervous he is going to fall asleep on the couch and not hear her when she wakes up. I never thought I'd be this controlling with my babies. His parents are coming into town and staying with us Sunday night and he wants them to take her into daycare Monday morning when they leave. Why do I have a problem with this?! Stupid controlling irrational Mom emotions!
  • The nursery still isn't finished and she moved in around 7 weeks. I love this room so far but I'm paralyzed on where to hang things! I keep seeing the 'aww share your finished nursery pics' post and feeling the pressure! Maybe next weekend will be my goal.

I worked late last night today is Saturday, MH was home so he offered to get up with DD and let me sleep in. I couldn't do it, he wasn't following my morning routine with her so I couldn't sleep in. I had to get up despite only sleeping four hours and check on what was going on. So yeah I know about stupid controlling mom emotions.
