Dear Son born 5/28/14
I just about had a heart attack earlier. DH and I were headed to lunch with MIL and SIL, and they just followed us in their car. The restaurant was not even 10 minutes from the house, and we didn't go over 20 the whole way. We park and go to get LO out of his carseat--IT HAD TIPPED OVER. Somehow the seatbelt was completely loose. I almost started crying, completely freaked me out. LO was totally fine, just chillin and playing with his carseat toy.
This is the most hilarious thing I have seen in a while. I keep replaying the part where the guy falls down. Hahahahaha. So not an Olympic worthy sport.
I hope those of you living in the California are safe! I hope the weather clears up.
Thank you! It's pouring right now and has been for the last 5 hours. We are starting to flood somewhat but we've got the sandbags out thank goodness. Hopefully we won't float away!
I went home today, as my mom said she wants some alone time with my dad.
Good news: it's not today? Doctor was complimentary about my mom's attitude. She said it is rare to see someone in as good of a mood as my mom given the circumstances. When specifically asked, the doctor said 6-12 months on hospice, but this contradicts her previous statements of only a couple months. None of us really expect much past February. I'm happy I was there to hear from the doctor.
Bad news: I'm short 5 hours of pay this week. Time to pick up an extra shift. There are more tumors than three weeks ago. There's now one in her kidney, pancreas, the lining of her intestine, and in her lungs in addition to the previous ones in her liver and adrenal glands.
I am sad. I'm losing my best friend in the world. And I get to watch her deteriorate over the next couple months. I don't want that. My kids will never have the fond memories I have of my grandparents. I'm just happy I've had the opportunity to go down.
ho11yday I can't imagine what you're going through. I hope you get to spend more time with her even though it's not under the best circumstances. As you know, we're here for you!

On that same note, I'm going to get everyone dressed up, put the camera on the tripod, and take timed pictures of us decorating the tree. My poor babies don't know what's coming.
The link to the third trimester board about someone posting a sono of her kid's penis had me thinking.
I sometimes have parents (particularly moms) ask about condoms for their sons. Hey great. Often times they want the magnums for their kids (meh, it's mostly advertising in that department), but I had one woman explain to me how she knew her teenager had a big penis.
there was a tax free day at the supermarket the other day. They have a nice clothes section so I bought DS some new fleece pjs, 2 sweatshirt jumpers and some new sweat pants. I didn't tell DH about the sweatpants or jumpers, just took the tags of and put them away.
Not sure where to post this. Im thinking of getting a different high chair. My brother and his girlfriend gave a beautiful wooden one for christmas last year. The problem is the DD is on the tiny side of the charts, and doesn't fit in very well, and probably won't for a while. Im thinking of just gutting a space saver one at a consignment store to use in the mean time, but I don't want to hurt their feelings.
ETA: I put a blanket behind her to help prop her up, and can keep doing that, but she does tend to pull it over her face.

She does not look comfortable in that. I would go ahead and get a different one. It's not like you aren't going to use the one you have when she fits in it.
This. We have one that sits on the chair and straps to it and I love it. It saves space and cleans really well with no pad which I love.
Oh how I love when DS takes 2.5 hour morning naps! Got everything done I needed to before work! And dinner in the crockpot thank goodness. Happy Monday!

Those chairs are great for 18m old toddlers who don't want to be in their highchair anymore because they want to sit in a chair just like mommy and daddy, but are still too little to do so. DD1 loves hers! But definitely get something more appropriate for a baby in the mean time.

Dilemma - I bought DS a my 1st Xmas onesie. Do I put him in it on Xmas Eve for my mom's big dinner or Xmas day for present pics? Decisions, decisions... It won't last both days without DS spitting up on it. I could wash it overnight...
Did they do skin testing on Jake? Curious as to what symptoms he's having. We have been dealing with horrible head to toe eczema and I finally got lab orders to test for milk, soy, wheat and egg allergies. Pedi said that skin testing isn't reliable until over age 2 and blood testing isn't that great until age 1, but said she would order if I'd like. I'm taking him to the lab tonight. I've been dairy free for close to a month and soy free for a week. I haven't noticed any changes.
Oooff...I have been feeling nauseous the last two evenings...How come every time I feel a little bit sick my mind goes to..could I be pregnant? My husband is thinking it now too. No PP period yet, so I am thinking about taking a test just to be sure..
Re: random thoughts.
It's taking am extra 30 minutes to leave because all the roads are blocked off.
Called in sick for the next two days plus using a week of vacation.
Thank you ladies for your support. Its been invaluable.
@Babybarlow2014 I'll send those to you when I get back. Don't want you to think I'm a creepy Internet stalker.

Btw, who was the 20th century president who talked about normalcy? I think he was a Republican in the early part of the century.
