  • I just blocked a friend because I get 3-5 candy crush invites per week from her. How do you block them?
  • NO MORE SICK KIDS. PLEASE.

I'm so exhausted that I forgot to wash my face this morning for the first time in 20 years. I can't even say with 100% certainty that I brushed my teeth.

  • @yayglitter one of my cats is the same way

That's funny,  my cat barely goes near DD.  Took him almost 3 months before he sat on the couch next to me while holding her.  He'll go as far as sniff her feet but the second she moves, he's gone.  Poor guy, not the baby anymore.

It took 5 months for the cat to warm up to C, and now they're the best of friends. It happened when I stopped trying to force a relationship between them. Now, the cat will go "bathe" C's head and cuddle up next to her for naps.
  • You'd think they'd learn from the first kid, but one of my cats will still come out for the baby. The other cat doesn't come out until they are both in bed.

Though ds1 loves chasing the cats. He'll say, go kitty go! Where kitty go?

  • Our cat stays well clear of the shrieking grabby monster but gets very concerned whenever he cries. She comes to see what's up and sits next to the monitor
  • My cats don't seem to be bothered too much by DD.  My parents have a partially blind and deaf cat that is very interested in her.  She will gently nip at whoever is closest to DD when she starts crying.
  • Congrats @ho11yday‌ , that's terrific!

With all the hubbub of Thanksgiving visitors, I forgot MH was leaving on a business trip. Not looking forward to dealing with teething overtired baby solo without any breaks.

    p.s. It's 11.30 and we've already had four wakeups.
  • Why do I only have to pee in the middle of the night when I'm feeding DD?
  • Let me preface this tale by saying we don't allow our kids to speak disrespectfully to adults. Any adult. (Unless stranger danger/threat). We were eating out last night and Jake was getting his noms on. Broccoli and cauliflower trees! Well midway through dinner, the 4 year old had to potty. So I take her. So that left dh and our 14 year old at the table with Jake. I guess the lady sitting behind us thought that was a good time to be PA. "You know they make baby food in jars. Look into it! That baby is going to die." My 14 year old, without missing a beat "Yeah. Well, there's this awesome thing called manners and minding your own business. You should look into it. And its free!" I love her.
I am waiting for someone to say something to me. I get looks all the time. I have multiple lines ready - but kudos to your daughter. You're obviously raising her right!

Sitting in the ER. DD has croup and spiked a 104 temp with vomiting. It's going to be a long night.

That's not a great start to the weekend. I hope you guys get in and out quickly and she recuperates just as fast

  • DD doesn't like her 2pc thanksgiving pjs. She has worn them twice now, and both times she has leaked out the top of her diaper. She normally isn't even a heavy nighttime wetter.

This happens often when DS wears 2 piece outfits. I think the waistbands are just snug enough that moisture wicks out of the top of the cover. I really need to find a solution because I doubt they make onesies for 2 year olds.

  • I went to Walgreens to pick up my Trazadone (a very mild sleep aid) and came home to see they'd actually filled 60 count Tramadol (a non-narcotic, but very similar pain killer). I went back to return the meds and get what was actually called in. They wouldn't take the Tramadol back, and filled my Trazodone, apologizing the entire time.

So, now I have both. I get why they don't take "refunds" of meds, but I
don't know why they couldn't just dispose of it properly for me.

tl;dr: My kid is SUCH a morning person and I'm not. Also, I woke up to
a cat's ass in my face, as C slapped me awake last night.

Also, while I'm in my random thought mood; I let C sleep in my bed last night because she refused the crib, RNP, and PNP. I woke up to her slapping me in the face and pulling my shirt at 3:30AM. I also woke up withy cat sleeping on my chest, her ass facing my face. Such a great morning.

I broke her is MOTN feedings, as she was eating solids and 36 oz of formula.

Also, C is such a morning person. I'm a night owl. Nothing but giggles and huge smiles in the morning. I wish I could have some of that rub out on me.

    Sorry so long!

Well my 2yo still sleeps in one piece footed pajamas size 3T, so you're safe there. She also barely wets her diaper at night anymore. She did have a bunch of 24m onesies but once the kid is walking tshirts are so much easier.

  • You can give infant pedialyte if dehydration is a concern.

  • I cant imagine having the flu with a LO. Good luck and I hope it passes quickly!
  • I wasn't sure where to put this but it's pretty random so thought it could go here:

About an hour ago I was about to cut some summer sausage so I laid the knife on the cutting board while I opened it. I accidentally hit the cutting board and it started to fall of the counter so I went to go stop it and it flung the knife in the air onto the floor hitting my toe and cutting it. Who does that?! If there is a way I find it shesh! Anyway it's really deep and wouldn't stop bleeding so this made my husband feel like he was going to pass out so there I was getting him a wet rag while my toe bled. He felt terrible but now that it's over it's pretty funny and I now get to put my feet up :)

  • @‌Hbird05, oh no! I did something similar a few years back. Rushing to put away clean dishes before going out, I dropped a food processor blade on my big toe and cut it down to the tendon. I was an idiot and didn't get it looked at over the weekend, and by Monday it was too late for the stitches I should have had. Oops.

Anyway, lots of commiseration, a little inappropriate laughter, and healing wishes. Hope you get to sit back and relax at least!

  • Since DS has now mastered rolling belly to back tummy time no longer exists. Within seconds of me putting him on his tummy he flips. This kid is never going to learn to crawl
  • @Katzalia‌ thanks! That sounds painful!! It is very sore today but I think the on and off bleeding has finally stopped thankfully!
    Thanks @ns1‌

  • I think I poisoned our house. I sprayed sealant on our salt dough ornaments not realizing how wide the spraying radius was. .. and I did it in the kitchen. I tried to wipe the gunk off the countertops, sink, and cutting board, but I think we may all be doomed.

  • I'm in the worst mood today and I have no idea why. Like I want to scream! Work was stressful so I'm assuming that is it but man I just want to stay away from everyone so I don't explode for no reason. Sheesh.
