No update here.  Still just pregnant.  And officially the most pregnant I've ever been.  I can't decide whether this little girl is stubborn like her daddy and her sister, a rules person like me and waiting for her exact due date, or if she's going to be my little girly-girl, and is waiting to be fashionably late and make an entrance!

No new fluff yet... but some should be on the way!  ;)

QOTW: Food is not exactly my friend.  I'm living off smoothies, greek salads, cereal, and PB&J.  I usually drink water with just a splash of apple juice.  I've been craving kool aid like crazy, but that's such crappy junk I can't make myself drink it.  But boy do I want to!

well I'm sitting at my OB appointment right now. Pretty tired.

like I said in the wrong thread I haven't been feeling very well. I knew I was having braxton hicks but for some reason they've gotten pretty intense and painful. Sunday got pretty bad and I saw some drops of blood when I wiped. So that sucks. I should get my drink today for my GD test so fun stuff there. Little girl can't stand the braxton hicks either. She goes nuts and drops really low until they slow. I made a melted crayon picture for her last night. I'm not super happy with it but it's still kind of neat. I taped off her name and used my blow dryer to just melt the crayons.

I've been enjoying and hating Chipotle recently. I love the double meat chicken and steak combo then later i regret it with all the acid reflux i get. As for drinks I can't not have a pop so I try to drink a sprite or orange soda...sometimes I cheat and drink some dr pepper. My apatite has actually slowed considerably recently, yesterday I only ate Chipotle.

I thinks that's all i got for now...we start belly measurements this checkup and she has a growth scan schedualed for the end of may (high risk due to crohns disease...causes low birth weight and preterm labor fuuuuuunnnnn!!)

  • @TJ1979‌ i think it's due to the amount of stress I've been experiencing the last few days. I feel like I'm unable to control my emotions anymore and it's almost like as soon as I feel any stress i immediatly want to break down and cry. I have today off and I'm on shorter shifts at work now and get to sit on a stool instead of standing so hopefully things will calm down a little. Still the end of the school year/summer is always stressful because of things involving ex and DS.

  • Synchronized contractions may be possible I think. After over a week "off" from pre labour symptoms my uterus started up again last night with some cramps and contractions. So it's nice to know my body remembers we have to get this baby out soon. No specific foods anymore, I was just ravenously hungry yesterday, I ate two lunches! I bought my husband a Soda Stream for his birthday last week so I've been fancying up my regular water intake with fizzy water and sometimes I'll squirt some Real Lemon juice in it too. I know, I'm so posh like that.

  • I bought 3 charcoal bamboo,3 Hemps, and 8 mini Hemps in an effort to be ready to ON CD 2 LOs. It all was only $12 off someone. I'm still not sure how the mini Hemps will work in the P&N, but I still have plent of MF, prefolds, andmFST, so I figure something will work. I also found a double sit n stand stroller for $60. So it's one of those sit n stands, but it has the two regular stroller seats still. The back seat comes off for the jumpseat, the carseat can go on either the front or backseat, and it will hopefully give us a bit of flexibility as both LOs grow. I figured for $60 it was worth a shot, and if we hate it, then I can sell it for the same price, or at least not much of a loss. My crotch is hurting more now. So that's fun. And it's harder to stay on my feet again. Both are happening earlier than last time. I mostly just do water, and I've been drinking 2 coffees a day. I should probably keep it to one... And I got a little sad realizing I can't drink all summer. Oh, and I try to have a glass of kefir a day, but sometimes forget.

We got a soda stream as a wedding gift and it was the only thing that got me through first tri morning sickness (either straight or as a maple ginger soda). Recently though I've been making sours soda. I made a homemade sours mix with 1 part each lemon/lime/orange juice and 2 parts maple syrup (I'm sure you could use simple syrup, honey or agave too). Then I mix 1 part that to 2 or 3 parts fizzy water. The mix keeps for ages in the fridge and also freezes really well. After M arrives I plan in having gin sours and shandies with the mix.
I must bookmark this recipe! My husband really likes Gin Fizz drinks. I guess because I'm not drinking right now we never even considered the alcoholic mixing possibilities of the Soda Stream! I've been putting lemon juice in my water this week, but my husband has been adding a bit of sugar to his for a sparkling lemonade type of thing. I might try adding some of the orange blossom honey I have in a drink or two today!

    Thanks @MapleMe

  • Back from my appointment....i gained 2 lbs over the last 4 weeks so I've gained 12 lbs altogether

OB however wasn't all that happy with me. She confirmed that I've been having actual (although non consistent) contractions since those force the baby down, whereas i guess braxton hicks is a tightening of the abdomine. She told me anytime I'm in intense pain I need to go to the hospital and any spotting i should call in, any bleeding should go straight to the hospital. She warned that i can go into preterm labor and i shouldn't take things lightly.

I'm not contracting or bleeding now though so she left it go.

@unaveragejane Awesome pregnancy sex is a myth.  If you had it last time, you were just lucky.  I didn't.  I had maybe 2 weeks of enjoyable sex this pregnancy.  I would bet your pelvic pain issues are contributing to the lack of enjoyment.  I know it did for me.

@NVandGZ It isn't the recently recalled one is it?  I think it was britax?

@rachelca29 and @mapleme I'm jealous!  I was going to get MH a soda stream for Christmas because he drinks a lot of whiskey and diet coke.  But he saw through my plan that it was really just a gift for me.  I want to get a soda stream and a lime tree so all I need is a plentiful supply of vodka, and I'll have vodka sodas all.the.time!

I was doing well on the sex front for a while and definitely had some great pregnancy sex. But lately I have no interest and I hate how long it will be PP. FFTC: I suck at saying no to sex within a relationship. I've always had the higher drive, so it was NBD to go with the flow on the rare occasion that they initiate when I'm not too interested. Prior to pregnancy I denied DH once during a hurricane 3 years ago. Now I feel like I'm being mean or he'll take it personally. I think he misses his drinking buddy more than the sex, but I still feel bad.
    Definitely here.

You will both be too tired to be terribly worried about it afterwards.  And there are still other things you can do.  Do not feel guilty, you will both make it through just fine.

  • Things are going well. I am more and more convinced that this baby is a girl (even though we are team green). So I started buying 'girl' clothes and scoping out cute fluff. I may cave and find out closer to my due date...such a cheater! DH refuses to find out but says I can do what I like.

We just got some new wet bags and a new Blueberry coverall (elephants) which is now DS favourite cover and he cries if it is dirty. That somehow makes him seem so sweet and so infuriating.

QOTW: I'm doing better with food but I find something sounds good until I start eating it... Still trying to eat high protein/low carb to minimise weight gain, lower my chances of GD, etc. So I eat a lot of eggs, chicken sandwiches, tuna salad...I don't eat a lot of fish as it has never agreed with me, but tuna salads or sandwiches...yum. I have a hard time drinking plain water, it's been giving me heartburn, inorite? So I drink sparkling water/seltzer with a splash of juice. It's helped curb my soda craving.

Water gave me horrible acid reflux. The doctor didn't believe me though. I got reamed every time I went in for not drinking enough water. Finally I just started lying to her. Milk was about the only thing I could drink and be okay. Hell, by the end of the pregnancy even milk was giving me heartburn. Thank God for Prilosec.

  • Just got back from my 17 week appt, all is well. My anatomy scan is scheduled for 3 weeks from today, so I have 3 weeks to decide whether or not we want to stay team green. I am leaning toward finding out this time, but am not fully committed.

There is nothing that I particularly want to eat right now, just some things I used to love that I am uninterested in. Like peanuts. There is a jar of honey roasted peanuts sitting on my counter that I would normally devour in a couple days that I have no desire to even open.

I am really just a water drinker, but a few weeks ago I was craving sugar and was obsessed with Kool-aid.

  • I finally seem to have gotten my HG under control, which is awesome. I am still having trouble eating much of anything, and I lost another pound this week. I've just been eating literally anything that appeals to me at the time because I've still got some wicked aversions, although at least now I can listen to food choices without throwing up, so yay for small steps I guess.

I can finally drink water again, so I've been drinking water and an occasional glass of milk. Before I was drinking Gatorade because it was the only thing I could stomach, and I was starting to get seriously dehydrated but really didn't want to have to go to the hospital for fluids.

I have been taking a two hour nap with A every day, and I'm still exhausted all. the. time. I'm getting pretty seriously depressed about how sick I feel and how little I am able to do and how messy my house is as a result. I can't wait to start feeling the baby kick because I think at least I'll feel a little bit happier and more connected.

  • I'm still feeling pretty good, and no major developments. I have been starting to get this little girl's clothes all sorted and whatnot. We've been given quite a few pieces, and with that plus my "yay team pink" spree she has a LOT of clothes! Now she just needs a name... ;)

I'm not worrying about potty learning until after our big trip home in September. I don't mind changing diapers, but the thought of having to teach G to use the potty overwhelms me.
QOTW: I've been eating my favorite apple and cheddar sandwich pretty much every day for lunch. I've also been craving those prepackaged mini chocolate donuts. They're gross and terrible for me, but they're my one splurge.

@ellebeedub Like, sliced apple and sliced cheddar between two slices of bread?  Or one slice of cheddar between two slices of apple?  I need more details.

@ITK I'm glad you are feeling at least a bit better.  Or at least getting the HG under control.  I know it's hard and overwhelming to think about your house being messy and not being able to get stuff done and not being in control.  But this is a short period in the grand scheme of things.  You'll be back in charge in no time.  The important thing is keeping you and baby healthy.

  • No new updates here - just sitting pretty  (I mean, working from home) on the couch and procrastinating with TB. I've decided to WFH the rest of the week since Friday is my last day and I am so uncomfortable at this point, I don't even want to deal with the office.

This kid is seriously testing my patience. EDD is tomorrow. At least with DD1, I had noticeable contractions 2 days prior, and we checked in to the birthing inn the day before her due date. I think she's going to make me wait all the way up until the RCS on the 20th. ugh.
Also - OWTs suck and don't work :(  Pineapple, spicy food, sex, walking... all for nothin'.   Not that I don't love a good pineapple smoothie or spicy thai, but still. And sex twice in the last 4 days, while not awful, is not exactly fun anymore, but I know I'll miss it when we have to wait PP.

No new fluff yet, but you all are bad influences and I just ordered another Size 2 Thirsties Duo Wrap (polka dance), and 2 Diaper Rite Bamboo fitteds (a medium and a large) to try on DD for overnight use. And a swim diaper. And reusable nursing pads... DH is gonna kill me!  Are the rest of your hubbies/SO's on board with all your CD buying habits or do you just try and avoid "the look" when more fluff mail comes??

May Mama's Synchronized Contractions team update -
still waiting... LO obviously missed the music starting b/c she's still just chillin out inside her comfy little water pod.

QOTW: What is your favorite thing to eat right now? Ice cream. Except we don't have any at the house b/c DH is on a health kick :(  What about drinks? coffee. I try to be good and only do a cup a day, but sometimes those iced coffees are so yummy, I have to have a big one!  Water with a little lemon is tasty too, though :)

  • Now I just want a grilled cheese sandwich and a dill pickle. Dang it.

FFTC: I have been making myself a peanut butter and chocolate chip sandwich (on whole grains) for breakfast every morning for weeks now.
This is our go-to snack for evenings. DH will take it for breakfast sometimes if he's running late. Add an ice-cold glass of almond milk on the side, and I'm a happy camper :)

  • @TJ1979‌ she can totally pick them up. I mean more like when I'm trying to clean up toys during nap time and after she's asleep at night. She can for sure pick them up herself, but there are things she misses that I need to grab before I can vacuum up her damn Cheerios.
Maybe the problem is that I'm trying to clean at all.

While I'm not a huge fan of peanuts, I actually don't think PB and cheese would be that bad. Think of noodles with peanut sauce topped with shredded Parmesan or dollops of chèvre.

Ugh, no, this still sounds disgusting. And I love my moms peanut sauce, so it's not that.

@elittler That could be your problem.  2 is a good age for her to get in the practice of picking up her toys before nap and before bed.  For the stuff she misses, get one of those grabber thingies, haha!
