LO made it all the way until 4:30 before needing to motn nurse!!! One earlier wake up that I could easily sooth him through. Probabl a freak occurrence, but it's nice to know it's possible.
Dumb question -Is it possible for the LO's to have too many solids at this point? DD ate 6oz in one sitting at daycare. I'm assuming she will stop when she is full?
I'm wondering the same thing. I've been stoping her at around 4 oz because I don't think I can deal with any more freaking poop! She's making up for her first 6 months with a vengeance.
We plan to start house hunting next month. I have an idea of how much we will get approved for, more than we want to spend. Yes we could afford it, but we don't want to be house poor. H has been looking at all of these houses, some of which we know wouldn't be in our budget. You know its fun to play. Last night, I asked how much he was looking at our monthly payment being. When he answered I very seriously asked him, you realize that pretty much every house you have saved will be waaaay out of reach right? Him, No I don't think so. The man doesn't have a clue. Honestly, I'm hoping it makes him bump up his monthly payment plans rather than drag our budget down that far.

Good luck! Sounds like you are being smart and approaching it from a monthly payment standpoint. Hopefully once you get started your DH will start focusing on a lower price point, but it is fun to dream. House hunting isn't nearly as much fun as they make it look on TV.
I have been excited, but sort of dreading it with him. I told him a friend of ours bought their house and have the payment he wants. Sort of to give him an idea. His response, "hmm". I'll be happy to go sit down with someone and them tell him clearly in black and white.. here it is buddy. Lol.
No, he used to fall asleep on his own but won't now. I don't know. It's like he's taking a nap at 8 and sleeps for an hour and is ready to get up and play again for a few hours. This all just started. He used to go to sleep and whenever he'd wake up he'd go right back to sleep with some soothing but now he's ready to rock and roll!
Yep. That is exactly what happened in our house. I would probably let him get up for an hour and then put him back down. Of course I would also recommend a couple of nights of sleep training to teach him to self soothe, but I know that not everyone feels comfortable with that. I can't tell you how much it has helped us. I tried the "CIO: bedtime edition" from the troublesome tots site and now E puts herself to sleep in 5 min and sleeps for 10-12 hours.
L started doing this too, it lasted weeks and he would be up basically every hour after that (it was a gradual build up to that but still, no fun). I found the troublesome tots site really helpful too. Even if you don't have interest in the CIO part there's a pretty great graph about how often babies are really waking up at night, it lined up pretty much exactly with L's wake ups. L's problem is definitely a lack of self soothing skills (which was mind boggling to me since he'd been able to put himself to sleep great before that). Anyway Troublesome Tots had some great advice in general I thought and it just made me feel less crazy haha.
Thanks for the concern last night, lovely ladies! I got IV stuff (was stabbed in the wrist in a failed IV attempt), was monitored to make sure I wasn't bleeding out and briefly had an awful balloon thing in my nose that was supposed to stay for two days, but I made them take it out for a couple different reasons. They didn't cauterize because they felt it would be done blindly. I feel like shit today but I think I'm on the upswing.
I was not thrilled with the chick that did my blood draw because she was super nosey about my bleeding disorder. Like, asked me excitedly how bad my period is nosey. (FWIW I'm a bleeding bleeder who bleeds-there's a med I can take again when I'm done BFing to cut the flow)
I'm waiting for labs to come back to see where my clotting levels are at, but we expect them to be ok.
H was pretty awesome handling me and the babe last night. I should give him the shout out.
So little backstory, when hubby and I first met I was a smoker, I quit when he told me he hated kissing me an it's been 3 years now. He is a dipper even though I've told him multiple times he needs to slowdown and quit.
Fastforward to today, I had a dentist appt and left LO with my hubby so I took his car instead of my truck. I get in and see a receipt laying on the floor and the top packaging of cigarettes in the cup holder. I locate the box and see he has indeed been smoking them and just bought the new pack along with more dip on the 14th. Ummm I'm calling hipocrite on my hubby.
I confronted him about it and let him tell me his side, he freaking told me he has had the pack for a while and I totally had my proof to call BS on him so I did. Nice try hubby, but your wifey isn't an idiot!! Men, sometimes they are freaking dumb!
So even though E can self soothe at bedtime now after sleep training, she has trouble with it at nap time. She still only wants to fall asleep nursing during the day. Anyone else encounter this problem? I know a different part of the brain controls daytime sleep, and nap training is much more difficult than nighttime sleep training.

I did a modified version of the Sleep Lady Shuffle (I reeeeally dragged it out because we were going from bedsharing to sleeping separate so I didn't think it was fair to go cold turkey) and ever since he naps wonderfully!!!
However I have a bit of the opposite problem some times at night getting him to go down is hard. I do still nurse him and then read him a quick story and put him in his crib with his wubanub and if he is still kinda fussy I put on the Aquarium thingy.
@TheTamedShrew
Definitely have that problem but haven't found a solution yet. She will also go down fairly easy for the first nap. Breast feeding and on top of me, but napping.
Second nap if the day though? All hell breaks loose and I cannot figure it out.
Yeah, in order to get her night sleep in order I went back to letting her nap on me to make sure she got long naps and wasn't overtired at bedtime. Now I am still in nap jail even though we are sleeping great at night. I can sometimes transfer her to her crib after she falls asleep, but she never naps longer than 30-40 minutes in it.
Well I just transferred her to her crib and she woke up 10 min later. That makes a grand nap total of 20 min. The sucky part is now there is no getting her back to sleep and now I have to spend the next two hours with a cranky overtired baby until she's ready for nap #2. I have done nothing else so far today but try to get this nap in place. Life is thrilling *sigh*
@steamboat1679 he has smoked on and off for years, but the fact that he asked me to quit and I did and then tried to hide that he still was pissed me off. He apologized though and completely understood why I was so pissed about it. I got an awesome apology too, he feels bad for lying/hiding and told me to go spend some money on myself
I think it is hilarious that the amount of threads I can pull up on "sleep training" from the past show so many people against it. It cracks me up. Now there is a new wave of oh I sleep trained, you're not sleep training, I sleep train it is going great. Absolute comedy.

How far back are we talking? There is a vast difference between sleep training at 4 months vs. 7 months. I would expect people to change tactics over the months.
Unless we are talking about never, ever people...
Someone mentioned that there is a diff part of the brain that controls daytime vs nighttime sleeping and that daytime sleeping is harder to train for. Then why are we the opposite in my house?! It's so strange. He naps 3-4 times per day and every time I can out him down awake and drowsy and he fusses for a few min then goes to sleep. Night time is completely different even when trying the same methods. I can't figure this shit out. I want my manual damn it!!

And to put it out there I don't think anything is wrong sleep training a baby at or after 4 months. Maybe that is my FFFC. Whatever works for the family I say. But to say you would never do something as a mom is the most ridiculous thing I've heard in my lifetime. That's why I love Rabbit. She sticks to her guns on what she believes. Regardless if we feel differently I respect that she is parenting her way. Love that chic! :x
@JANCANDANCE - perhaps my fffc is that next time I'll sleep train a little earlier. I've heard different things - 4 months and 6 months being the two main ages that you can start. We did it at 5 months and as soon as I did I knew she was ready and had been ready for awhile. I think it's smart to start before they start teething and crawling and going through so many other changes.
And I guess every baby is different so I could completely change my mind next time. And not every baby is probably ready that young. But N was and I could have probably saved all of us a lot of pain if we had done it a few weeks earlier. But I do remember that I feel like I was one of the first on this board, and have one of the youngest, so I felt very self-conscious about it for awhile.

Rabbit, I think our boys would be the very best of friends! They could wake up randomly throughout the night together and then during they day they can hate solids together! Lol

Can my LO join?? He likes it better on Hawaii time it seems and is a member of the I hate solids club too :-??
I think that J should be involved in this get together because he loves solids and could show the other guys how to chow down.
