Tampons = nose bleed life savers. Buy a pack of the slim ones, insert in 1 or both nostrils, tip head forward, keep an ice pack on the back of the neck. Helps limit the amount you swallow without bleeding all over the place and the ice pack helps stop the bleeding. Sounds weird but it works.
Could some of you ladies tell me the pro's and con's of being a teacher's aid? I am applying for a postion at one of the elementary school's in town and would just like to hear some personal experience I suppose.
@Wasnotwas What's the concentration of your Tylenol? It should be 160 mg/5 ml. The infant concentration used to be different than the children's, but that was causing a lot of confusion so they switched. Maybe the handout just isn't updated? If your LO weighs 21 lb 7 oz, he can have 4.5 ml of Tylenol safely.

I am an elementary teacher (taking the year off) and I was an aid for a year while looking for a teaching position.
Pros: School schedule with holidays and vacations. School hours. Working closely with kids. Little/no take-home work (grading, planning, etc.) Project - based tasks that you can finish. And as a person planning to teach, I got a lot of good ideas for my future classroom.
Cons: Not great pay (at least in my area) Teachers can be bossy/take advantage. Little control over how you spend your time. Given a lot of "duties." - I had recess duty every single day.
I hope that helps. If I think of more, I will add them.

I thought it was 3.75 mL?? At least on the charts I've read

Tylenol dose if 15 mg/kg. I converted his exact pounds to kilos and then did the calculations for the concentration of Tylenol to get the exact dose.

I'm really sorry to be sassy, but when you make something multiple it does not need an apostrophe. Pros, cons and schools do not need an apostrophe. Apostrophes are needed for contractions (cannot = can't, he is = he's) and possession (Jerry's car, the school's cafeteria). If you want to be part of an educational system, you might want to nail those grammar rules first.

@34blondie, I'm so sorry you have to deal with all that. Do not feel guilty, just take care of yourself the best you can and enjoy your time with lo when you are feeling well!
I am not trying to make anyone upset by this. Today is my 4 year wedding anniversary. I already got hubby clothes he wanted/needed. Brownies are in the oven as I type this. Anyone have any ideas for one more small surprise that can be done without leaving the house?
@chicagochic, I am not going to get into it with you over grammar (horrible speller over here, thank you very much). However, I can tell you teachers are, in fact, human and are constantly learning and making mistakes just like everyone else. I come from a family of educators, I also come from a family full of learning disabilities (or as I like to say, learning differences) and we (I am a substitute teacher, who is dyslexic) are marvelous teachers, department heads, deans, and counselors. There are many more important things to look for in a teacher than apostrophe usage. Andplusalso, this is an online forum, who cares? I sure as hell don't proof read my posts, I'm pretty sure you all can understand what I'm trying to say even with a few mistakes in the mix.
Eta- and @nachellebeck and @steamboat1679 are correct about the tone.

DD was napping on me in the rocking chair and a friend was coming by to pick something up. I managed to transfer her to the rocking chair (basically slid myself out from under her) and left her there so I could run downstairs to the door. She is now napping in the rocking chair while I sit beside it. I feel awful/reckless and awesome at the same time.
Ok well on a lighter note... My dd has started sighing when she starts nursing now. She takes a deep breath in then says "hhhmmmmm...." Like she is relieved! It's the cutest thing evar!

Edit: omg 'faze', not 'phase'. Apparently one pot isn't enough to save my vocabulary.

If you can handle @ChicagoChic42's sassy comment in such a calm way, I think you'll do just fine.
That's what I was thinking...
