  • @jellysparkles that's total crap, normal weight gain while Bfing is 20-30grams, did she even look at the grams or just the ounces? Stupid US not accepting metric! 10 mins is frequently a full feed here as well. Can you offer to weigh somewhere on your own? There's a breastfeeding store near me where you can use their scale anytime. LOVE it.

@dani+california honestly you don't have to warm bottles at all. If you can get your baby to take cold or room temp milk it can save a lot of time and effort. For BM bottles we just swirled them under hot running water until the fat was dissolved off the sides and then fed. For frozen bags we put them in a cup of hot water from the tap until liquified.

  • My parents exhaust me. I think they are forgetting that I'm not getting the 9 hours of sleep they are every night. Plus my mom made me try in clothes today even though I kept telling her I wasn't comfortable with my body yet and now I just feel even more bad about myself.

    Is it Friday yet?
  • How do I lose 20lbs and still NO CLOTHES IN THE UNIVERSE FIT ME?!

This! I lost almost 30 and still can only wear two sizes bigger than I did pre baby. I it's normal but doesn't help myself image.
  • Should I worry that Dylan's bowel movements are never silent? They always sound soooo gassy. At one point barely anything would come out and I would feel his little tummy gurgling. Today is the first day that he hasn't cried before going. They still sound super gassy though.
  • THANK YOU @aronie82‌ you always make me blush :\"> :x
    @ColleenSwerb‌ I love you.

  • I didn't know about the Epsom salt trick, I'll have to try that! I can get my engagement ring on but not my band.
  • It seems like I've been waiting my whole life for April to come and now it's already over.. Does life just zoom by when you have a kid??

Yep. And that sucks. But it also means you can skip over the not-so-great fussy newborn stuff and get to some other stuff pretty fast!

  • It does seem like time flies! I almost can't remember what labor was like. ( I said almost, still not ready to go down that road again).
  • @deidremaria‌
    How do you burp?
I know that sounds dumb, cuz like the whole world burps a baby by patting their up or back, but not all babies respond to that. Some prefer to be rubbed in a circle on their upper or lower backs, some prefer a rub in like an oval in their whole back top to bottom, some like to be patted on their butts instead of backs, etc. You can also sit him in your lap, and lean him forward with one hand under his chin, and the other hand patting/rubbing his back. There are a million ways to "burp" a baby.

And also, some babies fart like CRAZY but don't really burp. My DS was like that. I hardly ever even burped him because it never produced anything.

I typically try almost every type of burp known to mankind in one sitting after nursing. He is a big time farter so that's probably why I barely get burps outta him
  • @celticlullaby‌ giiiirl I wish. It's that neat afghan/cardigan/sweater thingy my bf got me for Xmas. It's adorable to wear with simple outfits plus it's very drapey so I figured its perfect for breastfeeding especially in public. Aside from my brushed back hair I'm literally wearing a pair of spanx and a tank. I'm pretty sure if I had a toddler in the house with a newborn I wouldn't even have time to brush my damn hair. I salute u

His bottom lip was tucked under when he fed on the right side. So I moved him lower to start (lower for him, sideways to the left for me), then drag his bottom lip up until his top goes over the nipple, and bring him in to latch. That is combined with making a boob sandwich so he has enough to get a deep latch. So much better now!
Hmmm, okay. My little girl does this with my left boob. By boob sandwich do you mean you just kind of squished it to flatten it out a bit?

  • Now Craig Ferguson quit. Does this week get any worse?
  • We have our first pedi appt in the morning, kiddo hasn't wet or dirtied a diaper since 8:00am today, has eaten all damn day, but now he won't eat. My milk hasn't come in yet and I know he's getting colostrum, but I feel like a bad mom because somehow I can't get him full enough of food to fill a diaper. :( I guess that's what the doc is for, but my anxiety says she's gonna judge me for having shitty boobs.

Also definitely going to make my OB's office squeeze me in to look at my stitches while we are out since it is across the street from the pedi. They are still bleeding, ridiculously swollen, and hurt like fuck. Am I naive to have thought they would start to feel any kind of better after a few days? Anyone else with a tear having such a terrible time?
  • @JessieAlbin‌ how long is a few days and how much are you doing? My stitches were painful for at least 5 days. And I did have my ob look at them and he said it was completely normal. It's been three weeks for me and I'm fine now. Barely even bleeding.

Since Friday. My DH is literally doing everything but breastfeeding, I feel like I'm on my feet a lot but pretty much only to avoid sitting down and pissing off my stitches. I'm either laying down resting or nursing while gingerly waddling around.

I had stitches too. They hurt for a long time. It was 2 1/2 weeks before it felt better. And I could barely sit or walk. Hang in there.
  • What are all these emotions??! I was such a robot until my little girl got here. Now I get happy-weepy over everything. My new life is awesome.
This makes me happy, because I recall it being a concern of yours. Being a parent is craziness (in a good way)! :)

  • I was starting to get worried about the lack of poopy diapers. We had a little one first thing this AM and then like 5 wet diapers all day plus a few open air pees while changing. Well, we just had our biggest poop diaper yet! Holy CRAP!

  • @pineconey My hospital had some pretty awesome chicken quesadillas as far as hospital food goes! I overslept dinner one night and had a serious case of the sads.
