Baby isn't active today... I've started laying down and doing kick counts. My doc says 6 in 2 hrs, any less means go to L&D. Dr google says 10. What doyou guys do? I'm obviously going to go in if I don't get them, but would hate to drag my husband out of work for nothing...

Mine say 10 as well. Call the office and speak with someone if you are questioning it.

I am so. over. work. But things keep getting added to my plate and the dates for meeting people/ training people keep getting later and later. My niceness at work is wearing thin thin thin, pretty sure bitchface is the face of the day today.
Good morning ladies. Well, I was up with DS for over 2 hours last night, so I'm a zombie at work today and I just want to go home and sleep. In my nice new bedroom. Argh.
Trying to get up the motivation to do...anything.
I can't remember who was asking about what STM+ did to get labor going. (Normally I would check, but I'm too tired to go back through the thread, sorry). I really didn't do anything last time. I did go to see a Patton Oswalt comedy show the night before DS was born, and I ended up having a contraction every time I laughed. My contractions continued for another two hours, then stopped. At 11:30 I went to bed, woke up at 2:30 in the morning with contractions 2-3 minutes apart and DS was born that evening at 39 weeks 4 days.

I think sex at this point would just be uncomfortable and painful and not at all exciting. If we did it now, it would be work. I'd rather just wait the 9 weeks and have hot kinky sex again.
Oh, this reminds me. Question for STM+...I keep reading that sex while bf is not so great for awhile because of the hormones causing you to be all dried up. Is it that much of a difference or will lube have to be needed? Ugh. I'm sure everyone is different but just wanting to hear experiences.
With my first I definitely needed lube pretty much every time, but with not second not as much, only used it occasionally. I would have some on hand just in case.
i know someone you can call for that.... (lube that is)

mine says 5 counts in 30 mins but time for an hour. ex, if the first 30 mins go by without 5, then do the next 30 mins and try to get another 5.

Is it redundant to start a "STFU/Major Eye Roll aka B*tch Please" thread? It's not quite TP, but a vent thread for annoying/maddening/stupid things people say or do. Like MIL, co-worker, sibling, friend BS rolled into one thread.
So at my 38 week appointment today, my doctor told me that if LO isn't here by my next appointment that we will set an induction date. I don't want to be induced until 41 weeks unless there is a medical reason to do it before then. So far he hasn't brought anything like that up so I hope he doesn't try to argue with me about it.

Lol saywhatt? I really am not a lube fan. I feel like the mood is different when we've had to use it.

Did they say why they'd induce before even the 40 week mark?
Nope. He just said we would talk about it and set a date next appointment. So if it comes to it we can argue about it then.
You gyse, I'm so sorry, I think I lost part of my mucus plug, but it wasn't enough that would show up in a picture. I know you really wanted to see it, I'm so sorry. But don't worry, I'll probably still post a whole thread about it so everyone can know. I also want everyone's opinion on whether they think I'm in labor or not. Yup, definitely in labor.
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...

was it water based or silcone based? or do you mean more like "hold that though lemme squirt some of this" throws it off?

How hard is it to copy people on emails and meetings? I've notified everyone and their brother that I could potentially be leaving any day now, please copy X, Y, and Z when sending things so my backups have the information needed to pick up my projects. But nooo, I'm still asking the same people day in and day out to add people to distributions and meetings.
I started today with goals: return/buy baby linens at Target, buy present at Barnes and Noble for wedding shower on Sunday, get yummy Starbucks drink to drive home with sunroof open, do laundry, call BCBS about insurance questions, look into new cell phone plan, and cook dinner for DH. But now, everything seems so exhausting that I'd rather play on my phone and not get a single thing done.

Maybe he just wants to do the scheduling early, not actually schedule it for an early date? Like at 39 weeks, he would schedule it for 41w or 42w to get the administrative part out of the way.
That makes sense. A "just in case" scheduling.
This is the same exact conversation from my appointment today- no baby by 39 weeks and we schedule just in case we need it at 41.5 weeks.
A friend of mine commented on my bump picture on FB "enjoy your sleep while you still can!" I wanted to TP that bitch so hard. I did delete her comment and that made me feel a little better. I am especially proud that I didn't go off on a rant for all to see.
ETA: She has 2 kids of her own so she should know better.
Okay so giving your nurses a gift to say thanks is a thing now? Is this an American thing? I've never heard of this before...as if there isn't enough shit to remember to bring to the hospital when I'm in labour.
I've heard of cards after the fact, sure. I guess I'm an asshole because I'd just figure that's...kind of...their job? Why do they need gifts? Where's Emily Post?!
I hear ya! I personally think that bringing gifts while your in labor is bribing them to be nicer to you or do their job the way they should. I'd rather give them a little something when I'm headed home or even mail them a card.

When I mentioned the gift thing to DH he just laughed.. Wouldn't even entertain the conversation. It's all new to me.

It seems like I have been having less movement as well. I asked my doctor and she told me 10 in 2 hours. So far LO has been doing the ten. But it is still worrisome. Maybe you should call your doctor, explain what is going on.
A lot of family and friends of mine (including SO) are nurses and I just like the idea of it because they do so much and are so often overworked/underpaid, don't get breaks, get yelled at by patients an whatnot. And yeah it is their job, they signed up for it, but I know I love when people go out of their way to say they appreciate what I'm doing. I definitely do not think that everyone NEEDS to get their nurses something, but I am going to bring a basket of snack items for them. Because I know I have the time now to make one and I can keep it in my car for when I go into labor.

I don't understand this either. I have no problem with thanking your nurses, but I had one really bad night nurse our first night in the hospital. She was not a normal maternity unit nurse, so that could have something to do with it. I can even forgive that, but she was rude to DH. That is NOT ok with me. I would hate to bring a basket of treats and reward someone like that, but then I would feel bad if I gave everyone else something and not her. And let's be honest, I don't have time to put something together.

It's funny how much more I notice other parents not using car seats now that I am going to be a mom. I never paid attention before. Now I see little kids getting into cars without seats, playing in the backseat, or sitting in the front ALL THE TIME! It infuriates me!
My husband is in SOOOO much trouble. Apparently he decided it would be a great idea to turn the little locks on the door - I only use the deadbolt usually. The little lock lets you open from the inside but stays locked from the outside. Result? His 9 month pregnant wife locked out of the house with the dog in 80 degree weather while wearing a little sun-dress and no bra.
Fortunately for everyone, my neighbor was home from work today, getting ready to leave on a business trip. We're good friends and they have a key to our house, so I was able to get back inside instead of having to wait three hours for him to get home from work.
But isn't it their job to take care if people? I guess I wouldn't mind sending a gift after the fact if someone went above and beyond their call of duty. Otherwise, I expect to be well taken care of and shouldn't have to use gifts as a form of bribery or coaxing them into doing what I want.
So besides the "looks like you're ready to pop" comments, now I'm getting a lot of "it looks like you're carrying a boy" comments.
I mean whatever happens happens. as long as the baby is healthy, but if it's not a girl, we will be having to be doing A LOT of exchanging things.l
I had one lady ask me this morning if I had popped. She was referring to my belly button, trying to find out if I had an outie now, as that is supposed to mean it is go time. I just told her (for the second time in a month) that it never popped with DS, and I'm not expecting it to this time.

I am definitely not using it as a bribe, I'm not doing it to get better care and I don't expect anything extra out of it, I'm just doing it to be nice. At my work, it gets fucking hot in the summer, 80 degrees outside, surrounded by cows who are radiating heat and their 98 degree milk (or whatever temperature it comes out at) and occasionally, my boss brings me ice cream. I don't do a shitty job if I don't get ice cream, but on the occasions I do get ice cream, it just makes my day. Sometimes it's just nice to get a little something extra for doing what you've been doing.
