This just made me think of my husband's roommate from college (and also my housemate for a year after graduation): his senior year he left a pot of boiling water on the stove and managed to catch it on fire... No real damage, but we've never let him live it down that he caught water on fire.

shopping with MIL went well. Spent $60 total and got a little rocker, a bathtub (currently $40 at target), and clothes that I like but don't love but hey, free clothes! Best part? We met up with DH for lunch.

Oh fuck it. I won't say anything because I don't do stuff like that, and it may turn out to be not that bad, or so stressful that I go into early labor and get to spend a few days of it in the hospital, or it's stressful but I don't die, or she comes to her senses and gets a hotel. It did kind of annoy me that she expected me to have a crib for her kid to sleep in. We're not putting up a crib until me move, there is NO ROOM for a crib anywhere. Ok....rant over.

And now DS is crying his head off because his schedule was disrupted and he didn't nap. FML.

The birth story was already posted- she just put all the info in one place. I've seen other boards do that, probably so the new mom doesn't have to. But if you don't want her to do it I'm sure she wouldn't.

I know @thomas930 was borderline on this. Has a consensus been reached? I don't want her posting my stuff either! The only one other than me that has any right to post anything about me is @bluebird2318 aka best LB ever and even then just updates not updating the birth announcement thread!

Other boards do it, but I feel odd that it's being done within a day of the birth. Give the mom a few days to bond and recover, damn. I know I won't be able to post and link a birth story for a couple of days after my son is born because I'll probably still be at the hospital (unless we bring the laptop, because there's no way in hell I'm typing a birth story of any length on mobile).

Exactly. Or they have to ask her to update, thus giving her the ability to say "they asked me to"

I haven't been paying attention in class. When that time comes, where do you post your birth story? I see this announcements thread but why can't I just post a "hey guess what?" without a hullabaloo? I'm a caboose so I don't expect anyone to want to hear a story at that point.

@celticlullaby Don't worry!! It sounds like they didn't want to make any specific statements as to what is going on because they don't exactly know themselves. You'll get more answers. Just write down any questions you have in the meantime while you're waiting for the next appointment OR call and ask to speak to the doctor because you have some questions. Its totally normal to be blown away by a bunch of talk and not know what to ask.
