So I was super bored and went through the hdbd posters... 41 are regulars, 34 have less than 200 comments and 2 just show up for hdbd
Wow snmetz7! That's some serious detective work! I guess people reeeeeally like the idea of a selfie!
i guess it just really bugged me today that i felt like i'd never even heard of a lot of the posters... blah.
Makes me feel better that I didn't post today. I don't want to see unknown bumps, I want to see all my bump nieces and nephews that I know!!!
I was seriously considering posting my hdbd in this thread because of how many irregulars post on hdbd. But then I was like "Really Deidre? Do you have to be such a bitch?"
Pretty sure my hubs is ready to bail out to the couch.. If my sicko flu germs hadn't already had him on high alert with the face masks, Lysol, and every five minute hand washing, the coughing fits keep waking him up and OMG the restless legs. Flopping around like a fish over here. Sorry not sorry, DH. (Ok, I do kinda feel bad for hindering his sleep after I slept all day.. He did make dinner and grocery shop...)
AW: Finished that kidney dresser I was working on today. Took me 3 seperate stripping and sanding sessions to get the old crusty lacquer and stain off. Love it!
I promise I won't splash pictures of my stuff all over here...I think I'm just obsessed with this dresser. I don't want to sell it!
Ok here is my crazy person confession of the day. Yes, I know this sounds ridiculous and I acknowledge that before I even type it.
Everyone keeps saying things like "you can't even tell you are pregnant!" "Your belly is so small!" And other assorted things. I've gained weight for sure but it's low and looks like I ate a ton... More of a pooch than a baby. And after hearing this for a week my mind keeps going "is the baby not growing? Is the baby ok in there? What if something is wrong?" I have zero signs of anything being wrong, but I can't help it. I feel like I'm insane for thinking something is wrong because I'm not huge and pregnant looking.
Ok rant over. I feel even more crazy typing it out now. These hormones are a bitch.
I was like this with DS1 too. I didn't even start showing until around 6 months and I measured "small" the entire time. DS1 ended up being 8lb 11oz, so you can definitely still have a big baby! This time I started showing around 6 weeks and my belly button even popped out at 8 weeks.

I'll probably be bumping less frequently. I started school again today. Let's hope I can work ahead and finish this class before the baby gets here!
Good luck @Sisimama10! I'll be joining you soon! You can do it!
Thanks! Right back atcha! I read through everything and it seems like it will be super easy and interesting, which is exactly what I need right now! I have been so stressed worrying that I got myself in over my head with work, school, being a mom and a newborn on the way before the class ended, but I'm feeling good about it now.
The thing about the newbies that gets me is the T&P posts. I mean I still post on them and all but I have noticed someone will post a long thread about something going on in their lives asking for thoughts and prayers. People will post on it and offer kind words and advice and then the poster never comes back! They never give thanks, lovetit posts or even update the thread! I don't know why it bothers me but it does! I'm not saying they are all like this but sometimes I wonder why I even bother to respond to some of the posts when the author just floats away into the wind!
I *might* get up a little early tomorrow because I have a ton of work to get done, but I don't want to miss out on the UO thread. Although it always makes me crave Skittles.
Quick question for all the ST+Ms who EBF: how soon PP did you have your first real drink? Or should I reword that to multiple drinks at a time?
I don't drink that much when not pregnant, so it wasn't that big of a deal for me and I hated the idea of wasting my breast milk. I drank at our company Christmas party, which was about 3 months pp. They make something called Milk Screen that are testing strips you can squirt your milk on and it changes colors if there is still alcohol in it. Best invention ever.

I've heard of it. I don't drink often but I do like to have cocktails or a few glasses of wine here and there.
Besides Dreft, what other kind if baby laundry detergent is there/do you reccomended?
Purex Baby. It's less than half the price of Dreft, and smells AMAZEBALLS. Plus it works really well. I seriously want to buy it by the 50 gallon drum so I can bathe in it while washing everything in the house that's washable with it.
FYI I've only ever been able to find it at Walmart.
ETA: I should probably mention that it's gentle on our sensitive skin (Lord knows I've washed my own clothes with it so I could huff them like a can of paint. MMM-MMM-MMM!). I'm the self-proclaimed queen of super sensitive skin (like I have a recurring condition that requires a specific antibiotic to put it in remission), and unfortunately, DS somewhat inherited my sensitivity...neither of us have experienced issues with our skin and this product.
Someone make a thread so all the new people can into themselves I'm getting so overwhelmed with all the freshmen up in here.. Don't they know we run this school?!
Kidding.... Kind of, where the hell did they come from?

I just got waaaaaay distracted watching my belly bounce around...Apparently Tommy's having fun in there...
Me too!!! I just finished watching Natalia move around in there. She was popping and rolling around. I guess she really liked the vanilla milkshake I had with my Double Double :P

DH told me that he thought he had food poisoning yesterday & had the feeling that he had to poop, puke, and pass out all at the same time. I told him that he now knows how I felt during my 1st tri. Only difference is that instead of actually pooping...you just... don't.
Ok oh wise Mamas of RTT...I have decided to give breastfeeding a shot. However, I am rather clueless about the process. The hospital we are delivering at offers a class but there is a fee and money is really tight right now. There will be a lactation consultant available at the hospital after baby is born to show me the ropes. So I guess my question is, should I spend the money on the class so I have more information on the basics or do you think having the lactation consultant available after birth will suffice? Do you think I can make do with either reading up on the subject or finding some videos online or do you think the class will be of vital importance?

Wondering the same! I was leaning towards not doing a class but still contemplate if it might be beneficial.
110 posts to read and I wasn't even gone that long...dayum! We have some hungry ladies here tonight. Lucky for me 80% of the things you all mention isn't sold in Canada, lest I be tempted to run out and grab some.
I'm surrounded by cuteness tonight! Can't wait to add a baby to the mix.
Dude I want to live in Canada just so we can hang out.
@irisheyez7 Kellymom.com is a great breast feeding resource and I learned most of what I know from there. I have also watched countless youtube videos showing proper latch and will again in preparation for this baby. I never took a class and was successful breastfeeding both kids until around 18 months old. One thing to remember is that while its natural, its still going to take work and those first few weeks are the hardest. Once you push through, its usually pretty easy.

oh, if anyone else makes the blueberry muffin cookies please let me know how you liked them. @kcp913 ygpm
I need the black forest cookie recipe! And oooh oooooooh! The only thing that I can imagine could *possibly* make those blueberry muffin cookies any better is to make a streusel topping, and roll the cookies into balls and in the streusel before baking. OMG I will have to try this and report back!
Hmmm I recall there being speculation of a user possibly being glynnC for using that god awful laughing smiley in a thread. I find it interesting that neither of them have posted lately. :-?
The thing is I think it would take quite a bit of intelligence to "play" that dumb and I am not sure if that particular poster has that in her, but I suppose we will never know for sure :-?

I just ordered Ina May Gaskin's Art of Breastfeeding (I think that's what it's called) and I'm hoping that will give me a headstart before attempting it with help at the hospital.
The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding is supposed to be really good too. I would definitely start reading something soon so that you are going into it with some information.
