Update: just got back from my second A/S and first high risk doctor visit. Apparently, I am doing so well that they are RE-referring me to a normal OBGYN who specializes in larger women. Also, my "I gained back 10lbs" boast was wishful thinking. Only 1.5lbs over the month (if only every Christmas could be that nice lol), but since the baby is measuring 1lb 13oz they think I'm pacing nicely. Everything looks to be normal, they just want me to come in six weeks from now to try for a better picture of the arches of the heart. But yeah, apparently I'm a freak of modern science because they expected me to have high blood sugar, high blood pressure and have gained a ton of weight from the way my referral sounded. They told me they were shocked at how normal my pregnancy has been. Sooooo good news all around! I'm celebrating with Subway and a Cinnamon Dolce Latte from Starbucks before going back in to work.
My pancreas seems to be working - sort of! I email my Endocrinologist my blood sugar numbers once a week and he sent me an email back that I'm taking too much insulin and it's time to back off. YAY!!!!
We have electric heat but it's super cheap in this area. Plus our apartment is very well insulated! Our bill was $57 last month and $12 of it was city fees.

Speaking of baby classes, everything in my area is $75 and up. I'm paying $300 for a Bradley method class, because there's only one instructor in our area. I'd feel gouged, but I keep telling myself it's 12 weeks....as opposed to the 4 week class my hospital was offering for $175. Better value, right? Still...ouch.
My Bradley class starts tonight and it's $350. Also the only area instructor. Part of it is that the classes are kept very small, and mine also includes snacks/healthy meals. 12 classes x 2 hours each = 24 hours of education and support for $350. Expensive? Yes. But hopefully we will only need to take it with our first LO so we see it as an investment!

Ok has anyone seen the Disney commercial where the dad and his kids are in a lowes or something and he starts acting like Darth Vader swinging around a florescent light bulb and then knocks everything over. two things: One , I can't stop laughing that was hilarious Two, I can totally see hubs doing that complete with knocking everything over.

Contractions again all day today. :-( I had a shot on Saturday that stopped them. Might have to go back to the hospital. Waiting to hear back from the dr. I hate this part of pregnancy.

(((hugs))) Did they give you turbutaline? I had that around 31 weeks with DS1 and went on to deliver at 40w2d without having any modified bed rest even. There is some hope

Yes, terbutaline was what they have me Saturday. It stopped them right away within two mins, but when I woke up Sunday they were back - just less frequent. I wasn't dilated at all when I went this weekend so that was good. The shot spaced out the contractions to maybe 1 per hour, but by Sunday night they have been steadily increasing again. The contractions are now about every 7-10 mins and every time they happen my face flushes bright red and I get a hot flash along with it. Last weekend I wasn't having any pain with them, but now I'm having stabbing pains down my hips with each one. Same thing happened to me with DD and they were able to control it with shots. I ended up having her at 39 weeks, so I'm not terrified, but pretty nervous.
Sometimes UO really changes my perception of people.. Not cause of their opinion but cause they take the UO thread as a place to just blast others in secret code. Annoying :-q

I give up on painting my nails. I will spend time meticulously painting them in hopes they last a few days and within a few hours they are already chipped.
WTF! If anyone has any tips on brands or techniques to make them last longer please share. I used to go to the salon and get shellac but I've been cutting back on spending money on things like that so I have been trying to paint them at home instead.
so my lady parts are swollen and it hurts to wipe. I wish it was because we had awesome sex but unfortunately that's not the case.... normal?
Could be a yeast infection. In the past they have always been itchy to me, but for some reason during pregnancy they don't itch at all, they hurt like crazy.

Any of the O.P.I. lines are quality, even the cheaper ones. I also like China Glaze.
Just wanted to update you all on a PSA I posted about breast pumps! Apparently it's not insurance companies or government changing regulations. Medela is only supplying the pumps, and you have to buy the rest to go with it. If you are getting another brand nothing has changed! Would have been 10 times easier saying that in the first place! Oy!
I had corn dogs, chicken tenders, and curly fries for lunch. Knocked out DD, crept in the kitchen to put cookies (chocolate chip oatmeal cookies) in the oven and now watching the episode of Castle I missed last night!

Do Not Buy Essie! It's expensive and it's SHIT! Worst nail polish ever. Great colors but you can't wipe your ass without chipping it.
The best nail polish I've found was under $5 a bottle. Sinful something.... I can't think of it off of the top of my head. I would get a good week without chipping. I got it at Walgreens or something like that. They don't have as cute of a color selection as Essie, however it actually stays on!
Sinful colors.... and we have beauty supply stores that carry about 100 colors... They last about a week for me as well!
I'd like to take a nap. But unfortunately I called a client an hour ago and had to leave a message. I know as soon as I fall alseep she'll call back. Trying to decide if it's worth risking getting caught sleeping...
My belly hurts from 45 minutes of rough ultrasound wand squishing today--but OMG are these pictures worth it! Baby kept putting his feet by his face and DH got to see him punching and kicking me. Can't wait to get home and lie down with my Snoogle to catch up on SVU. My belly needs a chance to stretch out again lol.

You know, I've never asked, but I hear it a dozen times a day. When you get to the hospital to deliver and they "hook you up to an IV," what's in the IV? Pain meds? Seems silly that I don't know, but I've never heard anyone say anything more than it hurts like a bitch.
Fluids usually and meds that you might need, like antibiotics if you are group B strep positive.
~Missed MC at 8 weeks. D&C at 12 weeks on 4/17/13~
TMI (is that a thing on RTT?) - I had a Bartholin's cyst a couple of months ago and at first I thought I had a yeast infection since it was just a little tender and swollen. The next day one of my labia was no joke swollen to 10x the normal size. We were on vacation and I had to take a cab 4 blocks to the Urgent Care because I could barely walk since it was so painful. It was the grossest thing ever.
