FFFC...step right up and see our shit show folks

It's not flame worthy, but it is hilarious and a confessional.

Yesterday I was making up C's purée and I realised I hadn't thawed out any breast milk to mix with it. So I took off my shirt and started hand expressing into a bowl. Sure enough the dog walker walks in at that exact moment. I can't even imagine what he must have thought I was doing. I will never forget to thaw out milk again.

Re: FFFC...step right up and see our shit show folks

  • Mine is that yesterday while getting in the shower, I realized there were no clean face cloths.

So.....I went to LO's room and grabbed one of her wash cloths.

I know it's just a cloth but something about it felt so weird and wrong haha

Also, since I'm still on the good ol' Canadian mat leave, I should be able to find time to throw a load of towels in.

  • My birthday is tomorrow, and all week DH and I have been trying to figure out what to do. Last week I had the idea of taking DS to the aquarium. I was all excited about it, but now that's he's been waking up every hour or so for the past few nights I'm thinking about not going and letting DH take care of DS and I just sleep all day. It makes me sad because I was looking forward to doing something fun but I'm so tired.

Also I fantasized about leaving DS with DH and spending several hours by myself. I'm not sure where I would go exactly, but the thought of getting away sounds so thrilling. I feel guilty that I'd rather be alone on my birthday than spend it with my family. :/

You should take a break! If you haven't in a while it can really be beneficial for both you and your DH who will get some alone time with your LO. My preferred method of escape is shopping - even if I'm baby shopping! My bank account can only handle window shopping these days, but it's still a nice little break when I need it.
I went out shopping yesterday evening after DH came home and spent way too much money. I would go get a pedicure, but I have an ingrown toenail so that's out. I really need to get my hair done. I wish I had made an appointment.

I would love to go out with my DH just the two of us, but I feel like I'll miss DS so much. MIL has offered to babysit but I'm not sure what we would do. There are no movies out that I'm interested in seeing. I could think of something though, just need to decide if I want to include DS or not.

  • @nonniedee I think her full name and nickname are lovely!

@2010bride2be I'm the same way. I haaaaate that on the rare occasion that I text MIL, she always calls me as soon as she gets it. I texted her the date of M's baptism and she immediately called me to say "okay." So annoying! I must look into this Slydial you speak of......

I hate talking on the phone unless it's absolutely necessary. Unless you have vital information to relay to me, please text me.

In order to avoid talking on the phone to certain people, I use a function called Slydial. It dumps me right into the person's voicemail. I can leave my message, say Happy Birthday, whatever...no worries of talking to someone.

This is mint! I love it. I want it!

  • My girls are 6 months old today (wow!) and I'm wearing maternity skinny jeans to work. They're comfortable and my real skinny jeans aren't even close to fitting.

Ha! This was my FFFC for today too! I recently caved and bought bigger pants but forgot to get black skinny/ fitted work pants. What kind of working girl doesn't have black pants! So I'm rocking my maternity skinny/ fitted pants and they're so comfy. DH offered to take me shopping for non maternity pants and I said sure but I don't really want to lol

  • I took my maternity jeans to consignment so I would stop wearing them, and instantly regretted it.

My FFFC is that last night I buried my face in a pillow and wailed. I am a diva when I don't sleep.
  • Dammit - two of you stole mine ;-) LO is 6 months tomorrow and I'm rocking maternity jeans, too. I've moved just about every maternity item out of my closet except these jeans... and I'm not sure I ever will. (For the record, they're not the panel kind... they're the stretchy waist under-belly kind)

  • I'm with you ladies on the maternity jeans. I have one pair of prepregnancy jeans that fit, but stretchy waists are so much kinder.
    3 ectopic pregnancies (EDD's 1/30/12-tube removed, 6/2/12-methotrexate and 10/2/12-methotrexate)

This is so seriously me. I actually panic about it--what will I say? How will I get them to say goodbye? What if they want to get off and I can't tell?

My phone log is basically my H mixed in with a few of my mom. My ILs could not (refused to?) get it through their heads, so they finally created so much drama about it that we now have an uncomfortable relationship--even though I flat out told them, my mom has (same neighborhood), and, once my H finally understood, he started to.

Thanks a million for that number/service!

    Edit for wording
  • The panel ones don't fit at all. The ones with the waist that sits below the belly don't fit that great either, to be honest; I can only wear them with longer tops. Or, I throw a belly band over it so at least if the band slips too low, it looks like a tanktop, versus a maternity waistband. I do have to do the waistband hike pretty regularly, though.

I still have about 15 pounds to go if I want to get into my prepreg jeans/pants/most tops. To be honest, I'm not sure I'm going to bother. Even if I lose it, my hips are way wider now, so they probably still won't fit.

  • @2010BrideToBe - that service sounds amazing, I'm gonna have to check into that...whenever I decide to make a phone call again. I'm like you, I HATE talking on the phone. I think DH and I have actually only talked on the phone less than 10 times in the 5 years we've been together? Most of the time when someone calls, i don't answer...unless it's the pedi or her school.

Mine for the day isn't that great:
Sometimes I think S looks like an old man...she's already rocking the receding hairline and the combover look, and when she gets grumpy I swear she turns into an old person.

  • @Trish625, yeah, I'm wearing the demi panel pants with a tight longish cami pulled down to keep them in place better, and a loose sweater over it.

My pre-pregnancy jeans fit me but I will never give up these ON maternity jeans I'm wearing.  I didn't like them while I was pregnant but I love them now.  They feel like totally normal jeans but the waist band is a 2 inch panel instead of belt loops.  I just make sure not to bend down or let my shirt go up so people don't see the waist.  I love the cut, color and length of these jeans. And they don't cut into me when i haz cheezeburger.
I bet we're wearing the same pair :) They were SO uncomfortable once my bump became more than "wow, you had a big lunch." But now? The best.

  • My son got his first spanking wednesday! He was throwing a fit for no reason! My husband reached over and taped his behind and told him "no" and he stopped! Inside I Freraked out! dh and myself had an agreement before Hudson was born to not disagree in front of him (on disciplinary subject). Hudson's response was crazy, it served its purpose! I don't think I'll be spanking him any time soon, but I won't be mad if h does!

Oh how I missed Fridays! I really need to check in more often...and figure out how to change my siggy...but thats another day.

My FFFC is: So I'm able to bring baby to work and we have a "cozy room" that has couches and a radio in it and I'm able to shut the door so no one can come in while I'm nursing or baby is napping. The confession part is, is that this new lady we hired gets on my (and everyone's nerves) because she's so anal and depressing, I feel bad and try to be nice and boost her up but it is hopeless. So I usually stay in the cozy room a few minutes longer after nursing just because I don't want to go out and sit in the office with her right away.
You are the first other mom on here I've seen that can bring baby to work. Hows it going?

We have good days and then there are days when naps don't go as planned. I'm lucky in that I really don't have to do much work now that the other lady is here. I kind of more just babysit her because she's new so she can ask me what to do. But its good. A plays on her blanket or in her exersaucer next to me or goes and takes a nap in the cozy room. Our office is an old house so the setup is perfect for us.
How is it going for you?

Haha, this is me too! Yesterday I wanted to post a UO but it was lame. Cancel.

Yes! By no means did it even hurt! It caught his attention and he went right back to playing!

Your DH spanked your 5 month old? I would not be ok with this, even if I were ok with spanking in general.
Wow. I yell at DH if he tickles LO too much cause I think she's too young and has no control yet.

How do you ladies get them to stay up?? Maybe it's a personal problem, since I totally ended up with flat-mom-jeans-ass after DH was born. I mean, not that I had a nice one to begin with, but it was something and now I have nothing. So I have seriously contemplated adding belt loops to my maternity skinny  jeans. I can't find any that fit the way they do! Every time I try to wear them, I show some serious crack. DH likes to shove random things there when I'm playing with DS (remote, hairbrush, pen, luckily not a peen), so I've had to give them up.  :((

    Edit for quote fail
You are so not alone with the flat-mom-jeans-ass! I don't know what the heck happened. I wish I could push some weight from other places to my butt. When that pic of Miley Cyrus' ass was floating around from the VMA's I kept thinking that it's probably how I would look if I put a bathing suit on. (from behind...front, not so much)
