I'm so jealous of you having a boy person to cook for you! I do all of the meal planning and most of the cooking. Husband likes to do the grilling because I think it makes him feel manly n stuff. I won't complain about that...especially since it was 2 degrees last night and "we" grilled burgers! HA!
Boy person does not work, so he does the bulk of the cooking and pretty much all of the errands. He doesn't do many chores, but he does a little. He will also be the one doing nearly all of the child care.

I tend to have a lunch and then a zillion different little varieties of healthy snack foods so that when I want something I have a choice of what to grab. So right now at my desk I have an apple, a pear, 2 bananas, a small baggie of parsnip chips, a muffin, a cottage cheese, and a Greek yogurt.

I picked up a chicken cob salad for lunch and the 3 year old told me it's not fair she doesn't have one and I should share with her. So I'm going to try and sneak down to preschool to have lunch with her today. With all the winter carnival festivities I don't think I'll be missed, hoping I can get someone to watch my kids for 10 minutes.
anyone else 100% adverse to anything citrus?? It seems a lot of pregnancy lotions and oils and even the vitamin I got have citrus flavor, and I just cannot 🙈
I've never been a citrus person, and it's specifically because of the smell (orange is the WORST), so fortunately I'm not around it too much, and I will not get anything that is citrus scented. I'm better than I used to be - when I was younger I would have to leave if anyone was eating an orange within like a 50 yard radius, because the smell would make me violently nauseous.

Cannot eat citrus at all right now. The thought completely grosses me out but that could be more to do with my heartburn issues than anything.
Having major aversions to cooked garlic and onions right now which is weird since I normally love it. But yesterday it was all throughout the food and I just wasn’t having it. The smell just makes me gag. 🤢
I have every intention of making a loaf of garlic cheese bread and drowning it in leftover spaghetti sauce for dinner tonight. Think old school lunch style. Definitely going there.
Is anyone else struggling with guilt? I CANNOT stomach protein other than dairy and nuts and only want to eat bread and carbs. I know this is k no it great for the baby and feel like the worst mom already!
If it helps, my OBGYN told me not to bother with a balanced diet until I felt better. She said a few weeks of eating a weird diet wasn't going to hurt anything in the long run, and it was more important that I focus on foods that I could keep down and eat comfortably. Based on that, I'd say try not to worry. Taking care of yourself right now is important, too!

I am slowly feeling like an adult again in terms of my eating habits! I still have a really hard time with meat unless its covered in a sauce or hidden in something else. I really just want a steak (my most favorite food) but it is not happening... My midwife told me now is just survival mode, take my vitamins and just eat what and when you can.
@jhysmath real wings are one of the few things I miss about living in Buffalo...

@kboydbowman jealous of your fresh tomatoes. I placed seed orders yesterday and was drooling over all the tomatoes. I might have bought way too many and don't really know where I'm going to plant them, or how I'm going to plant them and then transport 12 hours mid June.
I was good tonight and had a salad with roast beef and beef veggie soup from one of my favorite restaurants out here. Beats my too raw for me eggs this morning that looked like snot and the giant bag of popcorn I had at the theater with the kids for lunch.
I am jealous of your ability to actually make plants grow. I have successfully killed pretty much every plant I have ever tried to grow. I have a peace lily my brother gave me when I bought my house last year that is still clinging to life, but all its flowers have been dead for almost 6 months....

@kboydbowman In all fairness, peace lillies are difficult to get flowers from. They need to be in the perfect environment. That said, they are also very finicky, so never repot unless it's a last ditch effort. If it's happily growing green leaves, just continue what you're doing.
I repotted it early on, because it came in a temp pot which it was rapidly outgrowing. But it kept flowers for several months after that, so I don't think that's the issue... the green leaves look mostly happy?

@kboydbowman I'm sure it was still thriving from the florist environment it came from, even a few months after (nutrients and such). Either way, I'd say keeping it alive so far is still a win!
@kboydbowman I can grow hydroponic plants indoors and outdoor plants because I can forget to water them and they'll be OK. I don't have house plants as much as I like them, I can't remember to water things. I've propogated spider plants, pothos, and jade plants but that's when I taught gardening and my students cared for them and then adopted them out to other classrooms so they weren't my problem anymore 😂
@mamamoomoo12 hate lemonade isn't any better than hate chicken. but I'm glad you enjoyed it.

feeling blah this evening, so I'm going with comfort foods...French onion soup and what we called "sweet rice" as kids - rice w/a lot of butter and brown sugar.

@kboydbowman "sweet rice" sounds great! I do pasta with brown butter sauce sometimes, which is on a similar theme. The last few days I can eat tortillas, butter, one particular brand of protein bars, eggs, and girl scout cookies. The whole food aversion/craving thing seems really arbitrary, I'm not sure what my brain is doing or why.

My last pregnancy and basically any time I feel nauseous I can usually still stomach Mexican food. Unfortunately it just doesn’t exist where I live now 😫😫 But yesterday I discovered a Latin restaurant that serves arepas and it’s possible I’ll be back every day for one for a while.
@kboydbowman Yum. Your combination reminds me of our "Brown rice". Maybe you've had it when you lived over here! But you just mix 1 cup of white rice with 1 can of beef broth/consomme (either) and 1 can of French onion soup. Top with half stick of butter (cut up). Cover it with foil and bake for about 50-60 min at 425. Very unhealthy but so comforting and good!
