Sweet mini pickles (gherkins) straight out the fridge bring me so much joy! I ate a whole jar in less than a week. On the flip side of that chicken, onions, and eggs are the biggest nope for me right now. Just the smell turns my stomach!
Just had an amazing salad at a local restaurant. It was Arugala, roasted butternut squash, bacon, dried cranberries, pepitas, and buratta with a honey mustard vinegarette. So tasty though I'm sure my carb limit was over by a ton which I got a salad so I wouldn't do that.
I also tried eating my husband's side salad after with balsamic and that was making me gag chewing it, so that was fun.

@kboydbowman trying not to have a 10 lb baby again so that maybe I won't need a third c-section. I'm trying really hard to limit the carbs, but haven't been looking things up yet.
@laj0217 my mw told me to go back to my gd diet from my dd1 pregnancy, because I've already gained more than I normally do first trimester so she's suspecting I may have gd again, and with DD2 being 10lbs and likely undiagnosed gd she's trying to help me avoid a third c-section and to be able to deliver at our local hospital and not have to travel to the large hospital I had to have my 2nd at.
@jhysmath oh man! That’s tricky then and I totally get the recommendation. I was trying to be lighthearted because the salad actually sounded like a really healthy choice! Although I know from my weight watcher days they can sometimes sneak a lot of unhealthy stuff into a supposedly healthy choice. Good luck with the gd diet - fingers crossed you can avoid it this time!
So....news article popped up this morning that Dole recall salad marked from used by dates of 12/30 - 1/9 one person has died from listeria. I thought well that's foolish doing the recall now, I most likely ate a bag salad that week or the week before it, glad nothing happened. Then the next line I read that typical symptoms from listeria happen 1-4 weeks after consumption. Oh joy. They can also take up to 70 days to have symptoms. So don't mind me as I freak out with every possible symptom thinking I have been infected with listeria now.
@trapperkeeper87 yes I can't remember if I had any with that date on it, but prior to being pregnant I likely brought one to school as a quick easy lunch once a week.
@jhysmath Oh goodness. I really hope you end up being okay. Bagged salad is so good, but always scares me a bit because of this. Why is pregnancy so difficult?!
Per my request, the boy person made me an omelet. Highly nom. Spinach, garlic bologna, garlic, cheese, green peppers, avocado, salsa, and sour cream.

@theblondebump Both this baby and my daughter "forced" me to get a McDonald's cheeseburger and fries with a diet Dr. Pepper while pregnant. It only happened once with each, and I had no shame eating it, but man, why don't they usually crave the healthy stuff?
@trapperkeeper87 with my daughter, I was all about the fruit. I was eating like 6-7 servings of fruit per day. This baby is fickle and changes its wants daily.

I had my first “weird” food combination craving tonight… crackers with sharp cheddar cheese and peanut butter. Honestly I didn’t think it was THAT weird but my husband’s face when he walked in on me eating it told a different story… For the record, I’m a weirdo that never really liked peanut butter or cheese before pregnancy. Today I can’t get enough!
@blanket_girl have you ever had Peter Pan's Honey Roast? TO DIE FOR. They don't sell it around here (every once in a blue moon WinCo has it, but not often), so I special order it off Amazon.

I feel like I’m running out of things to eat! I’ll crave something, eat it, and be repulsed by it for a solid week. With DS1 I could have eaten the same thing every day my first trimester. Not loving this!
Same, I’m ashamed of the pile of leftovers I threw out this week. So little sounds good that I go all out when something does then immediately regret it. Glad to know I’m not alone!
@lalarose22 I'm with you. I can't eat left over any thing without gagging. I hate left overs as it is, but normally I'm fine eating them because I know I have to. Not anymore.
Food porn/heatlhy eating inspiration. Got motivated and went to the farmer's market this morning.
Beef short ribs, shark steaks, turnips, cabbage, mushrooms (Italian oyster, blue oyster, wood ear), eggs, daikon, red onions, bok choy, spinach, romaine lettuce, beets, and Fuerte avocados.

I live in the part of California where all the food is grown. Even if my small town, there is a farmer's market twice a week. There's always SOMETHING whose season it is....Strawberries should be back soon, which I'm looking forward to.

@kboydbowman we have a good market when it's the right season. The downfall of living in the north. I can go to one of the farms and get cheese, eggs, meat and canned items right now, but I do miss the fresh veggies and the varieties. Our grocery store just doesn't provide aside from the basics.
Yes, living in the armpit of California does have some upsides.

@lalarose22 this happened to me today. Our friends ordered this delicious garlic shrimp dish from a local restaurant and I ate one and thought it was so good I had to go home and order it. When the delivery arrived I was so grossed out by it I only ate the mashed potatoes.
