  • I mean, have you ever heard of a better omelet (ignore the spelling error)? 🤔

  • Tonight is sauteed turnips, onions, and sausage.  Is delish.
(And good boy person - I told him to do something with the turnips before they went bad!!)

  • @lalarose22 Those are the best! Snyder's has new Jalapeno Ranch pretzel sticks and I'm obsessed.
  • What I ate for dinner last night: vegetable barley soup and crackers

What I wanted to eat for dinner last night: a whole baguette of garlic bread, a large chocolate milkshake from McDonald’s, a huge bowl of Oreo ice cream, a pizza…
  • @blanket_girl the barley veggie soup sounds good!

  • Between all day “morning sickness” and covid I’ve pretty much eaten nothing but oatmeal and soup since Tuesday. But tonight I finally felt like I could stomach something a bit more solid and the only thing that seemed slightly appealing was dipping chicken strips in mashed potatoes.
  • We had herb and apple stuffed stuffed pork chops tonight for dinner and they were quite yummy! I’m also currently addicted to the dark chocolate Reese’s thins 😍
  • @theblondebump I used to say I needed Reese's rehab...

    @theblondebump @kboydbowman I don’t want to live in a world without Reese’s. Yum

Tonight, we’re getting Shake Shack burgers. Didn’t used to be much of a burger person pre-preg but dang I have been drooling over pictures of delicious greasy burgers and watching far too much Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives lol. So, tonight we give in to the craving 😂
  • We don't have Shake Shack here...give me some Cook-Out any day though...

  • I’m just waiting for In n Out to finally make its way to WA. DH drives a semi and always seems to find his way to the OR locations when he has routes down there, and I’m always jealous.
  • Reese's are life.... Fun fact, I found a family history binder while cleaning out my fils house after he passed, and a great aunt something or other of my husband's married HB Reese. He brought ice cream and chocolate to the first ever family reunion.
  • In and Out is highly overrated.  It's a perfectly adequate burger, but it's nothing special.

  • @mk2022x But what about Dick's? (a Seattle classic for everyone else)
  • @mamamoomoo12 another good one!! DH used to rave about the one in SLU and how good it was but I never went. It was the first place that came to mind when I wanted burgers so we went to the Kirkland one. Tbh Dicks would have been the better choice. Shake Shack hit the spot but I don’t think it was worth the almost $40 we spent there. They just opened a Dicks in Bellevue too! Next time!

@jhysmath oh my gosh, YUM. What a cool family fun fact haha. My family has nothing like that in it. 😉

@kboydbowman come up to Seattle and try our In n Out competitors and you’ll understand why we put it up on a pedestal. For price, taste, and speed (unless it’s craY busy), it wins!
  • I wanted Indian this weekend so I made naan and tandoori chicken. It was delicious and definitely hit the spot!
  • Nice!  I make a killer naan as well as a killer chiken tikka masala.  Sadly the boy person hates Indian food.

  • @kboydbowman hating Indian food is tragic!
  • It is very tragic.  Both my stepmother (my dad didn't remarry until I was in grad school, so I didn't grow up with her) and my sister-in-law also hate Indian food.  The rest of us could eat it practically every day.

    More for you!!
  • Yeah but they never want to go out to eat at Indian restaurants. :(

  • Pickles. 🥒🥒🥒

Which I don't even like. But man, they hit the spot as a late night snack. 😋

  • @trapperkeeper87 have you seen the pickle ice cream?

I feel like this belongs in the "unpopular opinions" thread! But I actually agree with you. Right this moment any kind of burger sounds awful...I'm surviving off of toast, eggs, mac and cheese, and the occasional orange when I can stomach it.
    First time mom-to-be, due 9/25/22

Some complicated chromosomal stuff going on - our fingers are crossed, but this may not go according to plan!

  • @trapperkeeper87 have you seen the pickle ice cream?
As someone who normally hates pickles, I'll pass. 🤮
    DD 10/2019
  • I have a big container in my mini fridge here at work. Love them. I prefer refrigerator pickles not the ones that are shelf stable because I like that crunch.
  • @jhysmath 1000% agree on refrigerated pickles. I do grocery pickup and one time they substituted Claussen for some warm ones and I was so sad!
  • @jhysmath I didn't even know they had shelf stable pickles! 🙊
    DD 10/2019
  • @trapperkeeper87 by shelf stable I mean the ones you buy on the shelf at the grocery store. Not sure if they can be on the shelf once opened. The ones that you have to buy in the cold part of the store like claussens (I think that a big name brand) are the type I like, they have a better crunch.

My husband just called up to my classroom and asked If I wanted grilled cheese for lunch. I'm super excited that he is grabbing me a BLT grilled cheese. It will be so much more delicious than my yogurt and pickles I have in my fridge.
  • Boy person came home with some parsnip chips yesterday and they are making an AWESOME morning snack.

  • Ate leftovers for lunch today and they were good!?!? I'll be 13 weeks on Friday, so maybe this is the start of the glorious second tri! *fingers crossed*
  • Technically 2nd tri doesn't start until week 14.  Heh.

  • Crunchy tacos! Like the really crappy ones you make at home!

  • Had leftover chicken wild rice soup for lunch today. And went over to the campus marketplace for a small bag of chips. They got new snacks and you better believe I just dropped $16 on 3 different overpriced snack items!! So happy more food things are starting to sound better!
  • We are going to the beach this weekend and there's a Tex-Mex Cantina type restaurant called Nacho Hippo that I have been thinking about for weeks. I cannot wait to get there Friday night. Just wish I could have a marg.
  • I have just been informed by the boy person that there will be grilled grilled ham and cheese sandwiches and tomato soup when I get home shortly. I am pleased.

  • DH cooked Ina Garten’s “perfect roast chicken” for dinner tonight and it was delicious! Andddd then we made chocolate chip cookies for dessert which were also delicious 😬😬
  • Boy person just put some blueberry muffins into the oven to bake for me.  And then he brought me the batter bowl to lick out.  Nom.
