  • @darkrose88 do you have a pump?

  • @paytonpedro yes I have done some manual expression along with the massaging. It seemed to help but whatever is blocking my duct may still be there as the redness/soreness hasn't subsided quite yet. It is less painful today which is a good sign.

@and_peggy only the electric pump from my previous pregnancy. I havent used it in about 3 years. It may be worth testing out...

Moms who had the Natera/ Panorama NIIPT test:
I just looked at the portal and it says the Panorama Prenatal Test is still being processed but the Horizon Carrier Screen is ready :O!!! Which one is the one that shows the sex? Of course DH is not home today so I can't just open that portion to see what has what.

PS. I have an appointment on Thursday so hoping both results will be ready by then
  • @bre2022 the horizon carrier screen is just looking at your generics - not the baby’s
  • @fuzzwombat thank you! Phewww.
  • Any car seat experts here? I’m seriously struggling with what to do and need assistance. I joined a Facebook group and I’ve researched the junk out of car seats. I’m just trying to decide what’s the best, most cost efficient, etc placement for my kids and what seats.

  • @and_peggy definitely not an expert...what are you trying to figure out? How to make multiple car seats fit or what types to get? I love the ones we use, Chicco is my favorite car seat brand.

@starkette yeah a little bit of both. Unfortunately what we have is just not going to work.

I have an 8 passenger 2019 Honda Odyssey. My current situation is:
Almost 6 year old in Chicco booster
4 year old in Graco Transitionz
3 year old in Britax marathon
18 month old in Britax Marathon (rear face)

When baby comes I’ll use a Chicco keyfit
One of the marathons expires next year and definitely won’t last through another kid anyway.

My future situation will be (summer time)
    6 year old - booster
    5 (in august) - booster
    3.5 - ?
    2 year old?
    baby - Chicco keyfit

Ideally, I’d love to fit the older 3 in the 3rd row. So 2 boosters and 1 FF seat. The 5 year old will need help buckling probably. I just don’t know what’s realistic. I wouldn’t mind having 3 in middle row but I would prefer to not. I don’t know, it’s just a source of stress. I don’t want to buy seats and send back over and over. Money is not an issue but if I can do it inexpensively, that’s preferred. I also don’t want rear facers in 3rd row. So I have not a lot of options. I don’t want to load through trunk. And I’m not a diono fan. Basically I just don’t know what to do.

  • @and_peggy ooof that's rough. Could your oldest help the 5 year old with the buckle? We got seatbelt extenders for the kids car seats so they could reach their buckles easier. This is definitely a game of tetris, isn't it? Wish it was easier managing more than 2-3 kids with car seats. Like, yes we want kids to be safe but do they all have to be SO bulky??
  • @starkette I’ll likely just be buying stuff from Amazon and sending back what doesn’t work. I don’t know. I know we will figure it out, obviously not an option not to but it’s just frustrating that it’s not an east solution.

  • @wigglyicecream I could probably quote her entire website, I’ve read through it probably 100 times already. She’s the reason I know it’s going to be a pita to figure it out.

  • @and_peggy sorry I couldn’t be more help. I had to upgrade to a bigger car bc I knew my Jetta was a tight squeeze with one. Lol fingers crossed you figure it out in the least PIA way.
  • @and_peggy fwiw, I did a lot of research to fit three across in my VW Touareg ((which is moot now because #4 but anyway))… I recommend to switch to Diono Radians for the big kids. They are the most narrow seats—my kids absolutely love them because they aren’t bulky so they can find a comfortable position easier, like to sit criss-cross and stuff. They also fold flat when you need to fly with them, or to store them. I bought all of mine on Memorial Day Sale with the extra 20% coupon. My six year old who is 62” and 4’ tall uses the Radion R for his booster seat, over so many booster seats that we tried. The only issue is if you want to use the five point harness, the deepest booster seat for that is one of the Britax.
  • @texas-gurl this is the thread I mentioned that you can ask questions in instead of making one off posts that clutter the board.

@wigglyicecream I didn’t mean to sound like a know it all. I appreciate the resources ☺️

@mdfarmchick thank you. I’ve actually hear the Dionos are terrible to install and uncomfortable so glad to hear a real recommendation about them. So you think it would be realistic to have 2 diono boosters and 1 diono harness in one row?

I ended up emailing a CPST in my area and she’s going to try and help too. Pooling all my resources to figure out the best solution.

  • @and_peggy I didn’t take it that way. I literally just didn’t know any other way to help and I know she’s basically gospel when it comes to car seat lol.
  • @and_peggy they are easier to install than the Gracos and the Maxi Cosis that we’ve also had. I have a Diono Radian 3R as a booster, a Diono Radian RXT and a Diono 3R using a five point harness in my Touareg right now. The rear facing installation is a little more difficult but still fine. I will say that I almost always get irrationally angry when I have to wash the covers but overall, we like them. Tbh, washing any car seat cover bugs me either way.
  • @amd_peggy, if you want pictures, I can take some tomorrow.
  • @mdfarmchick pictures would be great. I don’t think I’ll ever have them rear facing anyways since they’ll be in the 3rd row and that seems like a nightmare for loading. I bought the Graco slimfit lx awhile back since it advertised 3 across. I hated it so much. The buckles are super easy for my kids to open and my son frequently does it now in his graco seat.

was also looking at maxi cosis for the booster option. Thoughts on that one?

  • @bridgiebee82, I think you had mentioned the snoogle pillow in one of the thread. Is it really 7 inches thick? I bought the PharMeDoc pillow, and it was not true to size. I let it rest for over 72 hours and even fluffed it myself, and it's only measuring 5 inches thick, when it should be 7. I was already a side sleeper, but I'm very attached to my normal pillow, so I might just be very picky about what I like. But I know I'm going to need something to help my knees and hips. The PharMeDoc just seems to smoosh too easily for me. If anyone else has feedback, feel free to chime in.

  • @fromfurmomtobabymom8-2 it really does feel like it is 7 inches thick. I don't use any other pillows at night. It's really comfortable.
  • @darkrose88 I know I'm coming to this late, but with DS1 I got clogged ducts all the time. I found hot epsom salt baths helpful, if you have a tub deep enough you can soak the girls in. Warm epsom salt compresses also helped, and when they cooled off I would massage/express and start the process over again. Dangle feeding/pumping was helpful, too.
  • @aukeev thankfully I was able to get rid of the clogged duct through massage, hot showers and manual expressing. Those are good suggestions though & I'll keep them in mind if I get clogged ducts in the future. It was still a very odd experience to get a clogged duct while pregnant, especially since I haven't nursed in 3 years.
  • Question
My friends are doing ivf and have been super open about their journey. She’s 10dp5dt. I don’t know what is appropriate when it comes to reaching out to her. Can anyone give me some insight? I’m excited for her and so curious how things are going and if she’s tested yet, but I also am afraid to reach out if it’s bad news or if she wants to keep it a secret for a little bit- more so the first one.
  • @paytonpedro I think @wigglyicecream suggestion is good. Maybe in a few days be like "how are you?!" Then see how it goes
  • @paytonpedro I probably wouldn’t ask directly about her results but maybe just a text letting her know you’re thinking of her and leave it at that? If she’s been open about it she’ll probably let you know when she feels ready, I follow a few IF accounts on IG and it seems the general consensus is that people like to have some time to process in private no matter what the outcome.

  • @paytonpedro I agree with @wigglyicecream. I would reach out, see how she is doing, but I wouldn't bring it up unless she is a really close friend. One of my closest friends from college had to do 6 months of fertility shots before she got pregnant (after trying naturally for awhile). It was so hard on her to see that negative test each month. I imagine your friend will be in the same boat if it comes back negative. Better to let her tell you.
  • Does round ligament pain feel like soreness after an ab working but you didn’t do a workout? I have pain around my belly button and waist. Not awful pain but annoying. I don’t remember much from my first pregnancy. There was a lot going on lol
  • @katek819 I think RLP is more sharp on the inside of your hip bone/belly/pelvis area usually. It usually only lasts like 30 seconds before fading away. It’s usually caused by getting up quickly or for me, rolling over in bed.
  • @paytonpedro honestly I would recommend waiting if you are going to see her. And in the meantime, rather than asking a question, I found it easier to just hear “thinking of you” or “sending positive vibes” because then I could just do a heart emoji and decide if I wanted to engage further. My friend who dealt with it best (for me) would just say to me “I’m always here to talk about this, if you want.” I felt most comfortable with that. When you do see her, I wouldn’t ask directly about to outcome, I would just say you are there whenever she is ready.

Re: the whole taking to other pregnant people thing, honestly, I couldn’t handle hearing updates from my pregnant friends. I desperately wanted to be happy for them, and I was, but I was just also so sad all the time, and my sadness was always bigger. I couldn’t handle it. It was self protection.
  • @buffythevampireslayer thank you so, so much for that candid input!! When I see her I’ll just tell her I've been thinking about her. ❤️
  • @and_peggy sorry. Been slammed around the house. I forgot we switched it for a hi-fold because my six year old is HUGE. He’s 62 lbs and 48 or 50” now and he prefers the seat because it gives him a little more space for the seatbelt. I know some people hate on the hifold but it is a great option for us and I haven’t seen any reviews showing that it is unsafe. The only concern about a Maxi Cosi booster is how it fits with being able to buckle the seat. It’s a PITA but have to return them. Compare the dimensions with the Radians and see how it looks for your layout.

  • @mdfarmchick I’ve looked into the mifold hifold. Is it comfortable? Does it latch? Do you feel like it’s safe and sturdy? I’d love to not have to buy 3 new seats. The rodifix seems tricky too so I just don’t know. There aren’t tons of choices for our situation so I’m so stressed about it.
